Canna Watch Tele-Health Innovations
According to the NIH (National Health Institiute), Huntington’s disease is: A rare genetic disorder that causes the progressive breakdown of nerve cells in the brain. A study found that CBD may help reduce anxiety and improve cognitive function in patients with Huntington’s disease. Our Canna watch solution remotely monitors in real time, health factors that contribute to Huntington's disease symptoms. As a wellness solution, based on the monitored data analysis - my company offers a more bio-available, whole plant extract product, sourced from organic hemp cannabinoids.
Our Tele-health initiative is critical to lessening the disparity gaps amongst those living with Huntington's disease especially in underserved socio-economic groups. Diversifying integrated AI technology input, helps to eliminate racial bias often found in AI software. Because our solution offers Tele-health services without the need for a computer device or internet access, we can help lessen digital barriers to healthcare, by widening the user experience and statistics fed to the AI algorithms,
"One of the most debilitating symptoms of Huntington’s disease is a progressive loss of control over one’s movements. In fact, some of the most common causes of death for people with this condition are accidents resulting from a fall or other involuntary movements. "
A 2012 review of studies found that cannabinoids showed potential in alleviating hyperkinetic symptoms. Cannabinoids could be used to control involuntary movement, spasms, and loss of control over the body.

The Global pandemic and especially its aftermath have been especially challenging for those living with rare diseases.
The Rare Disease Clinical Research Network (RDCRN) "surveyed rare disease patients, their families, and caregivers about their experiences. They found this community has been deeply affected by the pandemic."
The rare disease community is affected by cancelled/delayed appointments, long waitlist, infection concerns and barriers are only compounded when faced with socio-economic factors, such as lack of health insurance, transportation and internet access just to name a few. Our Remote Tele-Health monitoring helps to alleviate these concerns tremendously while offering physician oversight in real time. Our Remote monitoring device also allows for an accessible health data timeline readily available for a person's private healthcare practitioner should it be needed.
Our Solution is a remote monitoring tele-health wristwatch that is sustainably made from biodegradable hemp materials, sold in conjunction with a more readily bio-available organic hemp cannabinoid product (by using bio-degradable hemp materials and increasing the agricultural hemp demand, we in turn combat carbon emissions. Hemp agriculture can capture atmospheric carbon twice as effectively as forests while providing carbon-negative biomaterials for architects and designers).
Utilizing proprietary software, biometrics, established soundwave technology, AI, and IBM Watson cloud platforms, we'll provide remote tele-health in a HIPAA compliant environment. The monitoring watch will detect changes in body temperature, blood oxygen, heart rate, blood glucose and other symptomatic factors that attribute to Long-Covid, Anxiety, and PTSD many of the factors that exasperate the symptoms of Huntington's Disease.
On the backend, organizational administrators will collect data from the remote monitoring, through IBM Watson cloud technology and AI; to analyze, keep data safe, and HIPAA compliant.
In real-time, as incoming data from the monitoring watch is detected algorithms will immediately assess data. Then, delivering a custom cannabinoid product solution that has been pre-evaluated and consulted on by a licensed physician specializing in Cannabinoid science. The consulted custom response will be given based on a person's medical history and assessed data. It should be noted that our hemp extract products are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease.
If a more serious issue is detected, patients will be advised to seek a more immediate treatment and further evaluation in-person. The sooner a person can recognize their symptoms, the sooner they can address their concerns with the appropriate wellness solution.
Our Target population are underserved socio-economic groups especially those that are living with rare diseases. Offering a remote monitoring device with access to real-time vital signs and symptom analysis without the need for the internet or having a computer.
The Underserved and Vulnerable will be our target populations. This will include Black, Latino, Indigenous and Native American persons, Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders and other persons of color; members of religious minorities; (LGBTQ+) persons; persons with disabilities; Armed Forces Veterans, persons who live in rural areas; and any persons who live in areas and communities that experience socio-economic factors that can cause barriers to equitable tele-healthcare services.
Many of these populations are affected by the digital divide and would greatly benefit from tele-health technology that does not require a computer or access to the internet. Getting physician consultation is invaluable to people with no insurance coverage, who might not otherwise hear from a licensed physician in any way. We will offer many language options through AI technology and our watch will be accessible to the handicapped/disabled/elderly populations. For those who are unable to receive products through the subscription mail service, we will be working closely with clinics and health centers, providing a kiosk that will utilize the soundwave technology to match biometrics and the appropriate product to the owner of the remote monitoring watch. We hope to offer refill products in major retail stores and directly through our organization. It is also our intention to offer an array of wallet payment options, not excluding cryptocurrency because we recognize the barriers of international money exchange. As well, a PAP (Patient Assistance Program), where we can help alleviate cost.
I believe that my organization is the right team to deliver this solution because first and foremost we care about the wellness and wellbeing of our community. We are located at the central business area in the heart of a major U.S. city - Newark, NJ. The organization already services the greater Newark Area with federally legal hemp and CBD products at affordable and discounted prices. We have teamed with emerging technology companies who sell and have implemented some of the technology (i.e. soundwave) we will be using in our remote monitoring watch, and we have received written agreements to license the technology. We have made agreements to acquire any IP source codes, which later can be leveraged should we need to raise more working Capital.
With a population of 306,247. The 5 largest ethnic groups in Newark are: Black or African American (Non-Hispanic) (47.7%), White (Hispanic) (16%), Other (Hispanic) (13.5%), White (Non-Hispanic) (10.9%), and Two+ (Hispanic) (5.23%).
According to welareinfo.org "The poverty rate in Newark, New Jersey is 101.56% higher than the US average".
As a black woman, minority owned business with a 100% stake and close ties to the LGQBT+ and minority communities, my businesses come in contact with many of the underserved and vulnerable populations we aim to help. We have also been in communication with local community help organizations and programs, to assess the needs of the populations they serve, and have received their willingness to align with our cause; to extend equitable tele-health services to the greater community while offering alternative cannabinoid solutions.
- Improve the rare disease patient diagnostic journey – reducing the time, cost, resources, and duplicative travel and testing for patients and caregivers.

I am applying to the Prize, because currently my company is looking to gain a wider outreach of our cannabinoid products through our remote monitoring tele-health solution. We understand that there are of myriad of people who suffer from conditions that are exacerbated by pain and anxiety. We hope to target people who live with rare diseases especially Huntington's Disease and that are faced with socio-economic barriers to healthcare services.
Our Remote Monitoring Watch gives consumers the option to monitor their own health in real-time. We all lead busy and sometimes hectic lives and paying close attention to the warning signs are not always on the top of everyone's priority list. But more than just a monitoring watch, we will offer organic cannabinoid solutions that will improve the overall wellness and wellbeing of those who need it the most.
Our initiative faces barriers with software development. While we have contracts in place to develop our IP software, we don't have the funds to see the project through. As well the funding will go towards securing any necessary patents. and allow us to acquire the source codes for the IP software used in our monitoring watch. This is the crux of the initiative, as ownership of the source codes gives us control and leverage of our own product. We've been told by developers and hardware manufacturers that we can see this project through completion in the next 6-8 months, once our funding goals are met.
The Prize monies will not only see our remote monitoring watch to market but will help spark a revolution in the way people from vulnerable and underserved populations are able to gain healthcare treatment.
As owner of my organization, I am a registered black minority woman owned business with a 100% stake. Operating in the heart of New Jersey's largest city, Newark, NJ. I have assembled a team that is reflective not only of myself but other ethnic minority groups. I have reached out to local help-based community groups that focus on equitable inclusion services and have formed allies with these groups willing to further our goal of equitable healthcare, inclusion solutions. Our remote-tele-health solution targets underserved and vulnerable populations including:
Black, Latino, Indigenous and Native American persons, Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders and other persons of color; members of religious minorities; (LGBTQ+) persons; persons with disabilities; persons living with rare diseases, Armed Forces Veterans, persons who live in rural areas; and persons who live in areas and communities that experience socio-economic factors that can cause barriers to equitable tele-healthcare services.
Our solution is innovative and sustainable as it approaches the problem of equitable health care for underserved and vulnerable communities by addressing immediate accessibility concerns. We use fresh organic hemp cannabinoid products, and our remote monitoring watch will be made of biodegradable hemp material and packaging. This in turn stimulates hemp agriculture (Hemp agriculture can capture atmospheric carbon twice as effectively as forests while providing carbon-negative biomaterials for architects and designers).
What makes our solution truly innovative is that we have found a way to offer remote tele-health technology without the use of the internet or a computer device; Up to now tele-health services have been dependent on both. Our technology is forward thinking, addressing language, handicap accessibility, transportation, payment, and internet access barriers. Tele-health technology that previously required the World Wide Web to process data - is an outdated modus operandi that is no longer necessary in today's world of AI and software programming. We can use this technology to catalyze broader positive impacts from others in this space, by utilizing it in conjunction with, organic hemp cbd cannabinoid products that are effective and legal. Legal at a Federal and State level without a prescription or health insurance, creating positive alternatives to wellness and wellbeing. We do not make any medical claims with our Hemp packaging other than the fact that it promotes mind and body, focus and relaxation.
We have discovered initiatives to implement these products to consumers, through tele-health services that will be recommended, under the consultancy of a licensed physician specializing in Cannabinoid Science. A remote tele-health solution that incorporates big data, AI, and sound wave technology, allowing for HIPPA compliancy without the call for the internet.
This solution, tackles head on, the digital divide and accessibility barrier that too often keeps people from receiving tele-healthcare services. Our innovation can change the way physicians across the Globe are able to reach and triage patients in real-time without being present or live on the internet. Monitoring and analyzing patients' vital and mood data, preemptively, can save lives in an emergency health situation. In turn, improving the everyday quality of life of the patients who suffer from anxiety symptoms caused by living with a rare disease. All the while, we are promoting mind and body, focus and relaxation.
This initiative can diversify the market for people who often depend on OTC or even prescription pain medications that have proven addictive. For those who don't have medical insurance, who live in remote areas or refuse to see a doctor for their symptoms, this is a non-invasive solution to receiving wellness healthcare in the privacy of their own surroundings. This innovation will be especially impactful in Countries where accessible healthcare is nearly nonexistent and essential here in the United States, as the digital divide and lack of health equity is all too prevalent.
We pride ourselves on using fresh organic hemp products and our use of biodegradable packaging is reducing our carbon footprint tremendously.
The impact goals for the next year are to broaden health equity outreach, by scaling our retail operation with remote tele-health technology (that does not require the internet or a computer, helping to close the digital divide). This, coupled with a mass market subscription service of a more bio available cannabinoid product (micro nano technology). Our solution targets people living with Huntington's Disease and those suffering from anxiety-based symptoms, as it promotes mind and body, focus and relaxation through the use of whole plant cannabinoid extracts.
Our five-year impact goals are to work with our partnered botanical lab, further developing the use of whole plant cannabinoid technology for retail products. We will do this in tandem with more sustainable manufacturing practices and greater use of sustainable (made from hemp) materials. We also aim to own and run a Hemp Farm, so that we may source our own organic products. Simultaneously improving the environment through hemp agriculture - reversing the effects of carbon-based fuels on the environment and its eco-system. This approach can create jobs and open up opportunities for farmers in other Countries - to source our products and to become self-sufficient. Allowing hemp farmers all over the World to capitalize on hemp agriculture, commerce, and increasing the demand for hemp internationally. A global carbon emissions reduction through the cannabis sativa plant (hemp).
With our solution, we can revolutionize the way equitable healthcare is administered to the underserved and vulnerable, while we combat carbon emissions - paying it forward to future generations.
Some of the indicators being used to measure the progress toward our goals are:
- improving access to sustainable livelihoods, entrepreneurial opportunities and productive resources by increasing the demand for hemp agriculture.
-strengthen the prevention and treatment of substance abuse, including narcotic drug abuse and harmful use of alcohol by offering a more bio-available organic hemp product using micro nano technology, as a viable alternative for total wellness and wellbeing.
- through remote tele-health technology, achieve universal access to quality essential health-care services and access to safe, effective, quality and affordable services helping to relieve the symptomatic effects of Long-Covid, Anxiety and PTSD.
- by 2030, increase substantially the share of renewable energy in the global energy by using bio-degradable hemp materials and increasing the agricultural hemp demand, that in turn combats carbon emissions. Hemp agriculture can capture atmospheric carbon twice as effectively as forests while providing carbon-negative biomaterials for architects and designers.
- by 2030, empower and promote the social, economic and political inclusion of all, irrespective of age, sex, disability, race, ethnicity, origin, religion or economic or other status by offering equitable tele-health services to those facing socio-economic barriers. Closing the digital divide and eliminating those socio-economic factors that cause barriers to healthcare in underserved, vulnerable and disenfranchised people across the World.
- by 2030, substantially reduce waste generation through prevention, reduction, recycling and reuse incorporating biodegradable hemp materials in manufacturing and product packaging.
Ganja Goodies LLC is a lifestyle brand that retails specialty cannabis goods made from federally legal, organic hemp cbd extracts, that promote mind and body, focus and relaxation - to wellness minded individuals. Our long-term goals are to create equitable tele-health to underserved and vulnerable communities. We aim to do this through remote monitoring technology (that does not require the internet or a computer), closing the digital divide, while offering a more bio-available hemp cbd cannabinoid extract, promoting relief to symptoms of anxiety for people living with Huntington's Disease, Long Covid, Anxiety, PTSD, just to name a few. While we don't claim to cure or treat these illnesses, the short-term effects of our products have shown a significant improvement in the wellness, wellbeing, and quality of life of our clients; this based on customer feedback and repeat sales.
According to the NIH National Library of Medicine (National Center for Biotechnology Information) "Cannabinoid acids from hemp (Cannabis sativa) Orally bioavailable and with a long history of safe human use, these cannabinoids, isolated or in hemp extracts, have the potential to prevent as well as treat infection by SARS-CoV-2."
These studies from NIH as well organizations such as the World Health Organization, show an increasing interest and viability of hemp in moving the bar towards effective mainstream cannabis cbd treatments, that are non-addictive.
The core technologies that power our solution consist of HIPAA compliant soundwave technology, AI, and back-end cloud, supported through IBM Watson allowing for compliant backend control of big data for analysis and assessment. While we will provision for the integration of Apps in our remote monitoring software, it will not be a necessary requirement to assess personal health data or provide physician consults as this will be done through the AI algorithms and software, which we will be racially unbiased and serve the communities we are targeting.
3D hemp filament printing, of manufacturing materials allows us to combat the environmental crisis; by lessening the burden of carbon emissions manufacturing. We can create a higher demand for industrial hemp farming through our commitment to the use of industrial hemp.
This commitment allows us as an organization to be held accountable, as we pledge efforts in reducing our carbon footprint and paying it forward to future generations.

We also recognize that many AI algorithms are racially biased. We plan to change this outcome with our remote tele-health initiative but becoming more inclusive in the types of persons that add data to our algorithm. As AI is the crux technology of our solution it is important that the people we aim to serve are represented. These producing outcomes are more equitable and fairer.
The key resources our organization has used are online and currently in person sales. However, in order to add value to our future impact and revenue, we will be seeking major retail shelf space and national or even global ad campaigns for our remote tele-health wristwatch. We have received commitments from a prominent Botanical Lab, on the cutting edge of patented micro nano cannabinoid innovations, to further product development. As well, we have received commitments to license the soundwave technology, we are incorporating into our software development. We have also created an opportunity to own the IP Source codes that will be used in our software, from a prominent software development company here in the United States, giving us future leverage should we need to raise more working Capital.
- Individual consumers or stakeholders (B2C)
My organization plans to become financially sustainable through not only product sales and subscription services, but in 2022 we received a government CAGE code for contracting opportunities, we'll concentrate on healthcare and sustainability initiatives. We have not closed the door on grant opportunities either, especially with the NIH, which has made a major commitment to cannabinoid research. Ultimately once our product goes to market, we feel that we have addressed a void in the market, and project sales from not just here in the U.S. but globally as well. As well, the acquisition of our software's IP source codes will allow us future leverage should we need to raise additional working Capital Funds.
Our organization has consulted with a United States government contracting firm, with ties to the Middle East and have received a commitment to helping facilitate a government sub-contract once our solution is fully realized. To date, we have experienced positive sales and are aggressively seeking methods to reach our goals in the next 2-3 months mainly in the technological crowdfunding and government contracting sectors.
