UKNOW is a knowledge platform where information is provided in a creative
and responsible manner for the students of the 21st century. 

We are witnessing an explosion of websites aggregating videos from dozens of colleges and universities, ranging from lectures to student films to athletic events. However the  they provide you with too much information, there is a need to sort through the vast amounts of information to find what is useful, it is easy to get distracted or lost on a tangent, and that it is hard to follow a learning curve. There is a need to organize  educational video content so that the learning process is linear in a well defined sequential step by step process.

Uknow is a knowledge platform where information is provided in a creative   and responsible manner for the lifelong learners of the 21st century.  Using video as a mode of learning, UKNOW transforms the educational landscape with innovative   content deposition, intelligent search and interrogative quiz based content for an informed learning. Uknow brings in a variety of software and hardware innovations that would enable faculty and students to create, share and learn educational content globally. UKnow aims to reinvents education as we know today.

The uniqueness of Uknow is underscored by a combination of game changing  ideas namely  Video tree and Intuitive quiz. Video tree is a structured framework to organize and annotate educational content  in a linear framework. Faculty would deposit content(videos), content  based questionnaire(quiz)  and reference videos of their choice in video content manager. This "content sequencing " enables "content based quiz and quiz  based content suggestion.Educational content on Uknow  will be dynamically  ranked based on the  productivity (as assessed by  student's  performance on follow up test questions via intuitive quiz. ).

Foundational research 

The  explosion of websites aggregating videos has made  the search for relevant  content like a needle in Haystack. There is a need for  platform is multifaceted with multiple applications which not only address the girl child education but also can transform the way of lives in poor communities across the world.

The application of Uknow is multifaceted.

   Enable schools to impart discussion based study over mobile device in a seamless fashion.
 Engage kids in the discussion of specific topics and promote group learning activity
 Facilitate interaction with kids of same age group even though they are geographically isolated
 Connect kids with other kids across the globe via group chats over mobile device.
 Present focused discussion groups and foster collaboration by bringing like minds together
 Seamlessly enable students to setup group study and execute group activities.
 Girl specific chats enable girls to openly share and discuss their problems and possibly
connect to a facilitator as well.
 Family specific E-group chats enable families to interact with each other to discuss their social,
economic, health issues.
 Enable novel applications like real-time tests and quiz
 Enable SMS social networking
 Enable government officials ,private NGOs to interact with children, adults about specific social, health problems etc

The novel applications envisaged in the proposal including intuitive quiz , video tree will need to be tested  and refined based on the data obtained  form multiple users /students.  The obtained data will help formulate evidence Based Education. As a application Unknow needs to be challenged on technological front. This is imminent for continuous improvement. of the application

When an educational content is dished out to students ,We seek to understand the common problems /questions on the particular content so that  we can find out the most effective and efficient ways to solve them. This would ultimately result in a seamless educational content (Video Tree and Intuitive quiz) envisaged by Uknow.

UKNOW is Universal knowledge  platform with organized content and intuitive applications. UKNOW brings a myriad of innovations that can transform the landscape of education from schools to college. With innovative content deposition and search strategies, UKNOW aims to be a game changer in the world dominated by Videos.

 We do not envision a explosive big bang entry for UKNOW but rather replicable models in multi dimensions. We also do not for see bringing all universities in the Universe on one platform but rather a substantial portion of the much sought after programs in Universities and programs based on demand. Once substantial  progress is achieved the model will be expanded  and evolved both in scope and vision. 

   UKnow as a business model  would be an expanding  platform gradually encapsulating more universities and students.   The four pillars for realization of this idea involves successful 

 1) Collaboration with  Universities.

2) Appealing to a wider  Student base.

3) Securing Institutional support.

4) Implementation part.

                  In the onset  UkNOW would  target  20 universities We expect that substantial number of universities will be interested in this concept for the reasons outlined in the Idea.    

                      By providing the collaboration tools UKNOW would have a leg up in this market.  By providing a Universal platform with flexibility for customization UKNOW could branch out and serve any University independently. Templates provided by UKNOW could easily help University to upload their content, provide collaborative tools to its online students. Parallel to this we would strive to rope in Governmental support. Organizations like UNESCO, Philanthropic foundations and Governments invest a lot of money for knowledge dissemination in the poor nations. By partnering with them UKNOW  could be leveraged to provide quality education programmes to such nations.  Some  Universities may want to test waters before they step in. pilot programme would be initiated for them by facilitating their  video feeds to UKNOW website .Universities typically maintain video and audio recording systems which they use to typically record distinguished lectures  in conferences  halls, auditoriums etc. During the pilot program that resources  can be used to record and relay the lectures and made available on UKNOW website. Students of that universities (who  are interested and who might have missed lectures) or students else where can access them on UKNOW website for free for a period of time. The volume of hits on those lectures, feed back from students across the world who took advantage of that free program would shed light on the potential of adopting UKNOW. In the end the chances are that Universities would be willing to adopt UKNOW for at least their top lectures/programmes  based on User feed back/Interest.   As evident from the statistics of online education is a ever growing space that UKNOW could take advantage of.  In summary the integration of Customizable UKNOW will allow Universities to globalize seamlessly. On another front the educational programs supported by UNESCO/Organizations through UKNOW could transform the  educational landscape in  under developed  nations. Thirdly the projected online education statistics speak for themselves . There is ever growing fertile ground for UKNOW to succeed in online education.

                  This idea , We think is revolutionary both in its goals and  approach. This may look like a futuristic vision, but in a subtler  and ill defined manner its already taking shape in various forms. Now is the time to seize the opportunity. Now is the time to provide collaborative tools for online education. Now is the time to take a giant leap into Universal education.
