MISSIONARY AT HEART
#missionaryatheart is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that is responsible for feeding, clothing, showering, and giving medical attention to between 100-150 children daily that live in extreme poverty in the Dominican Republic.
#Missionaryatheart is trying to make a difference in each of these children’s lives by giving them the support and love they deserve. #Missionaryatheart served 30,000 plates of food to orphans of the Dominican Republic in 2018. The goal of #Missionaryatheart is to become a full time orphanage and educational center so that these kids can defeat the cycle and escape the extreme poverty they were unfortunately born into.
#missionaryatheart currently serves homeless street kids as well as poor children in the surrounding villages of a town called barahona. Not only do we feed, clothe, and show love to these kids but we also teach them how to be responsible and make good life decisions that they were never taught because they left home at such a young age. With the proper support we truly believe we can make a difference in thousands of children’s lives, or even more. If we could build an orphanage for these children to live at so that rather than send them back to the streets every day we honestly believe we can help these children defeat the never ending cycle of the extreme poverty they were born into.
#Missionaryatheart has a goal and that is to help the homeless and unfortunate children of the Dominican Republic defeat the cycle of extreme poverty. With proper funding, #Missionaryatheart could expand not only in the Dominican Republic, but to many other countries where children are so desperately in need. We would love for you to consider us in this challenge, as we feel we can make a lasting global impact with your help.
- Reduce barriers to healthy physical, mental, and emotional development for vulnerable populations
- Prepare children for primary school through exploration and early literacy skills
- Growth
- New application of an existing technology
#missionaryatheart could not have become what it is today without the technology of the internet, which is how we fundraiser. We rely 100% on donations and we always meet the donations needed to keep the doors open.
Without the technology of today, everything #Missionaryatheart has conquered would not be possible. We reach thousands of people here in the United States because of the technology available in today’s society.

I believe that an orphanage/educational center could help these kids more than anything. These kids do not go to school, they don’t even have parents to teach them right from wrong. If we had the opportunity to raise and give these kids the education they deserve, there’s no telling how far they could go.

#missionaryatheart is currently serving around 100 children each day, although we have a total of around 300 children registered. Next year, our hope is to grow to 500, and in 5 years we believe that we could reach thousands if we are given the opportunity.
Our goals are to continue to fundraise and grow our non-profit so that we can reach as many unfortunate children that we possibly can. I’m 5 years our goal is to have 500 children relying on us for daily food and education and 100 living in our orphanage and attending our educational program.
Our main barrier right now is the cost of feeding 100-150 children 5 days a week year around, as well as Paying our 3 employees, and many other expenses. It is difficult to grow when you rely on donations from fundraising to keep our non-profit running.
Our plan to overcome these barriers is to begin speaking at public gatherings, churches, anywhere that will have us. We believe that if we were able to get our name out there we would be able to reach our goal.

My Team has 6 years of experience helping the children of the Dominican Republic. We have built houses, fed children, fed families, helped families with medical situations, and much more. We believe we are the best placed to pitch this solution because we honestly believe we can help these children become the adults we know they can become.
#missionaryatheart is a nonprofit so we don’t necessarily have customers, we have orphans we feed, clothe, and give medical attention to.
Our path to financial sustainability is to get our name out i to the world. If more people knew what we were doing, we honestly believe our donations would increase.
We are applying to solve in hopes that solve will consider us for this prize. We could honestly change the lives of thousands of children in need with this funding.
