In India, domestic violence is considered as family matter having an unspoken sanction in patriarchal society. A victim of domestic violence tends to shield the perpetrator of violence in keeping with her socio-cultural psyche and value system. People around her witnessing it may want to help, but the question remains how? People seeking help may report it via ‘WithYou’. The details will be sent to all the nearest NGOs. Appropriate actions will be taken and counselling will be provided, but this is not enough. Most of us focus only on penalising the perpetrator, but what about the victim? Most women in India are dependent on their husband for financial needs. We want to make the life of victim better. NGOs and other organisations will provide them counselling and train them to lead an independent life. A life where she could fulfil all her needs as well as her children’s need.

The NFHS-4 survey revealed that “33% of ever-married women have experienced physical, sexual, or emotional spousal violence” and only 14% sought help. Cases of sexual violence against women in India have jumped up by over 10% than the preceding years and rape accounts for 12% of all crimes. However, it must be kept in mind that these figures are not actual as there are more such cases which go unreported every day. In fact, include the cases which we self-indulge in, or the ones which we witness in the neighbourhood but are hesitant in taking even a single step to reduce their occurrence. Domestic violence is an intrinsic part of our society with its roots being in the patriarchal set up.

According to WHO, 1 in 3 (35%) of women worldwide have experienced either physical and/or sexual violence in their lifetime. Globally, as many as 38% of murders of women are committed by a male intimate partner. Behind closed doors of homes all across the world. People are being tortured, beaten and killed.  

We are serving the people who are forced to accept the violence, who can't raise their voice against the violence and accept it as a form of patriarchy. Those who have fear of society, and fear of family. Also, who are willing to oppose the violence but don't know how to help.

People witnessing incidents like domestic violence are mostly neighbours, servants and relatives, but rarely anyone take stand against it. We conducted a survey in Varanasi (India) to know the reasons behind it. 77.60% people stated that they want to help the victim but at the same time are afraid to get involved in police or court affairs. Our society where people still believe and supports man’s dominancy over women, 23.70% wanted to remain silent because of such society.

‘WithYou’ wants to break this hesitation. Our solution to this problem is an app that is easily accessible and provides immediate help with just one click. Victim or any other person witnessing such act can seek help. They just have to open the app. click on the tab depending upon whether it is a case of domestic violence or child labour. the app will access the victim’s location and send it to the respective NGO nearby. The NGO will immediately reach out for help.

Also, we’ll hide the identity of user who reported the incident. User will receive a reward points for every true incident reported. This app will act as a mediator between people and NGOs. Also, we are looking forward to work towards convergence between government departments to prevent child labour and rehabilitate existing child labours.

In India, Police and court matters are often tedious. Even after punishing the perpetrator, most victims’ condition has no improvement. Most women in India are dependent on their husband for financial needs. Via ‘WithYou’ we want to make the life of victim better. NGOs and other organisations will provide them counselling and train them to lead an independent life.

With ‘WithYou’ application people could easily seek help. The fear and social anxiety could be avoided. We provide easily accessible platform which connects Non-government and Government organisations at one place.

Existing solution to this problem includes helpline numbers, NGOs and some government policies. Campaigns and advertisement of above is not done properly, due to which people don’t know how to really seek solution. The user just have to state the problem and concerned body will be available for their help. ‘WithYou’ will provide such platform where help is just one click away.

The core technology that our solution include are artificial intelligence, app development, voice recognition and language translator. India is a country of many languages. The user may tell his problem to the app and it will be recorded and translated in Hindi (or English).

Our solution will target middle and low income families. WithYou is user friendly app that is easy to use and will save the people from long tedious police and government issues. It will not only solve the victims problem, but also will help to provide a better life to victim.

We will be serving the population who are facing violence and have no where to go.

Since, problems always find a way to disturb others, so we will improve our app accordingly every year. Within the next five years we want cover all the asian countries and Africa continent.

The most important barrier that we are currently facing is presence  of limited sensitive society and lack of advanced technology. Our goal will be to spread awareness in the society to be more alert of such problems.

Through reward points, we hope to drive people to help the victim. We will also organise campaigns to make people aware about the problem and our solution.

Currently we are a team of three people.

The main problem we are targeting through this app is domestic violence.we consider ourselves best fitted to solve this issue because we have witnessed this kind of acts around us many times. We have seen that people are less bothered to help because of the following reasons:

• They don’t know how to help

• They don't want to get involved in these kinds of incidents thinking that they could get in trouble.

• They don't want to get involved with police and court since it is a very long procedure in India

• In case of domestic violence, If the woman is financially dependent on her husband then everyone around her including her thinks that there is no other way to live her life away from her husband.

Since we have seen this situation closely we know how the mindset of people works. And hence we consider ourselves best placed for this solution. Also, we aim to develop our app further so as to work on social issues like refugees,rape, safety in the upcoming yea

VALUE PROPOSITION:

We are developing this app to solve issues like domestic violence and child labor. So the main targeted customers for this app are below the poverty line population, women and children from backward society and the population who witness these kinds of acts but is negligent towards them.

CUSTOMER SEGMENT:

The customer who is socially conscious will tend to use this app more.for each true incident reported we will be offering scratch cards to the customers. The scratch card will contain money. with each true incident reported by the customer, he’ll be awarded a star.after earning a particular number of stars he will get a golden scratch card which will double the total amount he earned.the amount will be transferred to his bank account within 24 hrs.in this way we can engage the customer to use this app.

our solution need a very good marketing. Without a nice brand our solution can't sustain. Apart form marketing we need financial help, great technical help and mentors and advisors. 

 This are all the basic needs, but the main reason why we are applying for MIT solve is that we want to do collaboration with the Government. And if we get recognized by MIT solve then there would be higher chances that we would be accepted by the Government.

We will use that money to make our solution technically advanced.It is necessity for our solution to be technically advanced. In a couple of seconds people should get the best help for which they are hoping. It is a need of our solution to be successful because our  solution can minimize the problem of domestic violence and child labour and issues like this.According to the survey we did in Varanasi(India), 98%  of the people agreed to use our app. we need to provide best possible help to the victim by sending his location and problem data to the nearest respective NGO within a couple of second. Our app also include features like voice recognition, bank transfers etc.Hence, we consider app ti be an highly AI based app.

Our solution also wants to foster prosperity and social mobility for underrepresented community members. So with the help of advanced technology and money to help them with the small business and jobs we would make their life prosper. And in this process we need this prize money.

With the help of this prize we will make our project more technically advanced so that whenever a girl or a women is in need she will be accommodate with the best help within a couple of seconds. She just have to do is open the app, click on the tab and describe her problem, whether it is job related or any type of violence.

We all know, how refugees suffer because of violence, lack of job and money. And most of the times they don't even get in contact with the related NGOs for help. We can take the example of a refugee family who are living on the airport of South Korea. In this case they needed the contact details of the related NGOs but after so many struggle they managed to get a number of the NGO. So we will use this money to expand the scope of our solution and would also make it more advanced to help refugees in every possible way.

We will use that money to make our solution technically advanced.It is necessity for our solution to be technically advanced. In a couple of seconds people should get the best help for which they are hoping. Our solution is going to utilize data. And most of the users will demand keep their identity, their data safe. We need the money to make our solution more technically advanced, so that we can keep their data, their identity safe.

If our solution is implemented inthe society then, we can change the lives of thousands of people. It is not like that we are saying this, but the people of Varanasi is saying! So we will use this money to expand the scope of the problems we will solve. And would make it technically advanced so that there wouldn't be any delay in solving people's problems.

The main aim of our solution to make all the citizens safe regarding all the worries and the violence. For that we need our solution technically be at that level of technology and innovation so that we can expand its scope of solving all the problems and should provide the best help asa soon as possible.
