If you lower the amount of electricity and water usage within a household it indirectly lowers the house’s carbon footprint. The less electricity you use the less the need is for fossil fuels and other non-renewable resources to be used. Saving water is useful since fresh water is a limited resource. This also helps the user of this technology save money.

The purpose of this app(EcoShield) is to help manage the water and electricity usage of the user. Users can monitor energy and water usage in their homes through an energy monitor and a water meter monitoring device. These devices connect to our app which is user-friendly and relays the information from the monitors onto your phone. You can set goals for resource usage to help motivate yourself to conserve resources. Based on your goals and energy usage the app suggests appliances that you are looking for. This combination of features makes our app convenient for its users.

This app can help anyone seeking to help the environment and save some money. The devices and apps are planned to be cheap so most communities should be able to use it. This combination of resource management would be useful for Africans. They have a problem with water’s scarcity and could use this device to their advantage.

We have a good variety of skills such as coding(app development), pitching, and a good plan. We will preserve this idea and improve on it as we learn from more experienced people. Right now we are still high-school students who found out about this through a high-school program(Xstem). We have a lot of time to expand and improve on this idea+make it a reality.

It it still a concept and is not used by anyone. But once created it can be used by anyone as we plan to market and expand it. 

Creating a prototype and finding other people that are also interested in creating a solution to a problem. We are just starting out and need to plan more before expanding our idea.
