PaySolar Charging Box
Dugumari is a small community of not more than 200 houses located 20 kilometer’s from maiduguri metro politan council Borno the north east region of Nigeria.

The community is remote and very isolated , the isolated rural community’s chance of grid reaching them is unlikely, however at least in the near future, It is hard to make a living without electricity to charge phones, and have access to light at night.
The lack of electricity inhibits peoples ability to thrive and leaving them dependent on petrol, kerosene lamps for lightings which harms children’s health and could not study full time. Access to electricity in the rural area is not compared to the urban area, most patients in the primary health care are injured by kerosene fuel explosion while using kerosene lamps, children and women are most vulnerable they lag behind once the sun goes down they lack sufficient light for studying and Night Usage.
Ville way Nigeria is an innovative and social driven initiative set up in the year 2020 with the idea of using innovative technology and market based strategies to address the issue of Climate change , Community development and Promoting faster action towards Sustainable Development in Nigeria and beyond through access to energy.
Ville way Nigeria has an initiative called
paysolar charging box : a central charging box in a rural community/ village without access to electricity to charge their mobile phones, purchase or rent a solar rechargeable lamp/LED bulb, Solar home System/Kits on small amount at most cost effective ways ,also further communication. This Paysolar charging box will change their lives and livelihoods, women using this appliance will have light for night time birth, have more time to earn income at night. This impacts their businesses and income helping them move from extreme poverty to near middle class status and number of women entrepreneurs will increase by 10%. Students study hours and literacy rate will increase and the quality of their learning also increases. Our solution is bridging the gap and reducing energy poverty in local communities through access to clean energy and helping businesses and communities make better use of that expanded access.
At Ville way we focus on empowering poor communities by having access to light in Nigeria and beyond.
most importantly women and Children, also improving the lives of people in the poor communities while combating climate change.
Our Solution aims to contribute to the country’s development objectives while enhancing local community resilience to climate change impact and avoiding greenhouse gas emissions from traditional sources that would otherwise be generated from fossil fuels.
At Ville way we are coming from diverse group from the Energy finance world ,the project management side and the inter relation side. We come together and so we bring a diverse experience and above all the commitment of the group and the partners to most importantly show that what ever we do we add value.
Our Target is to improve lives of people in the rural communities without access to electricity.
Our main primary focus is to make available to communities, sustainable energy and carbon reduction at scale which benefits the poorest people across Africa.
- Support informal communities in upgrading to more resilient housing, including financing, design, and low-carbon materials or energy sources.
- Nigeria
- Growth: An organization with an established product, service, or business model that is rolled out in one or more communities
So far we manage to design and construct PaySolar Charging Box in one of the urban area which can charge 20 mobile phones and 20 Solar rechargeable Home system. We also partner with macosine and 2 other solar appliance company to expand further in to the rural areas with no Access to energy.
We apply for MIT solve because we believe Solve will help build and support our solution at this critical stage of Development and move faster towards achieving our aim.
We look for support in the following fields.
Financially
Networking
Partnership
Advocacy
Financially : Ville way needs support to further strengthen its social impact project providing transformational carbon projects, including clean cooking – which improves the livelihoods of families at the Base of Pyramid.
- Financial (e.g. accounting practices, pitching to investors)
- Monitoring & Evaluation (e.g. collecting/using data, measuring impact)
- Product / Service Distribution (e.g. delivery, logistics, expanding client base)
our solution model is unique and requires significant manufacturing capabilities which are provided through partnership with Macosine Design Nigeria limited (MDL) and Sossai renewable energy leading power systems innovation and solutions providers. We work closely with MDL and Sossai to develop and test products, build localized last-mile infrastructure and gain an acute understanding of market needs. This solution will help the communities with no access to light charge their mobile phones, rent and purchase rechargeable lamps , bulbs and appliances on solar energy for small amount.
It also provides access to small loans to create meaningful opportunities for women to capitalize on time saved through improved cook stoves or invest in small income-generating activities such as new businesses in local markets, so they can make difference In their own lives and those around them.
Not only do these stoves provide households with reliable cooking fuel, but they also help reduce harmful smoke emissions, create jobs, and improve health outcomes for everyone involved.
By 2030 our projects will have generated +10 million emission reductions and removals and supported by millions of people around the world.
1 Number of lives that will be expected to improve from the typical first 12 months 200 , in five years from now 10,000.
2 Number of SDG’s to be achieved Is typically 5 and 11 SDG.representing the depth and breadth of the co-benefits our projects provide.
Each project we develop is rigorously designed to ensure it has significant co-benefits for the communities we serve. Project co-benefits come in many forms, and we utilize the 17 UN Sustainable development goals to align our impact. These goals recognize that ending poverty and other deprivations must go hand-in-hand with strategies that improve health and education, reduce inequality, and spur economic growth.

Ville way Nigeria is working closely contact with sosai renewable energy across Nigeria towards the use of Clean cooking stoves, Women in entrepreneurs and presenting the Village head and key heads of Agro processor group and food vendors on the Use of LPG as fast and Eco friendly. Also partners with business resilience assistance for value adding enterprise for women and small enterprise at Kano. Also introduced the participants to the impact of renewable energy business and so much more.
Our paySolar charging Box creates a serene environment in communities and locations where epileptic power supply has led many to using fuel generators.
Over 900 million people in Africa and 120 million Nigerians live without regular access to electricity and a majority of rural and peri-urban homes are not connected to the grid. With our micro-solar solutions, we intend to drive micro power penetration in Nigeria
Renewable Energy is what powers the Paysolar Charging box. In pursuit of the goal Ville way has developed the Paysolar charging box a nano grid system where rural communities can benefit from the charging box by renting or buying on installment of the Light appliances,Mainly to bring lighting in to their homes, and we aim to gradually extend according to clients need.

Out of the fees generated from the solution 20% will go into activities that generate income for the micro entrepreneurs who can connect a refrigerator to store and sell cold drinks, meat, medicine vegetables and rechargeable Razor Clipper for hair dressing saloon it enables the creation of economic development within the communities and this way electricity is not a cost but an income generator.
Ville way has recently conducted A several study on several NGOs ( CATAI ) , (FALOUC) to help them better understand the barriers that are still preventing the scaling up of their respective pilot project related to SDG 7 ( United Nations Sustainable development goal 7 to ensure access to affordable, reliable , sustainable and modern energy) . A total of 5 projects where studied in various area such as clean cooking, solar based Water pumping and desalination solutions. Recommendations where provided to help this NGOs Overcome the barriers Identified: improving policy and enabling environment, project planning, adapting financing, improving market conditions and fostering Collaborations with National government who have a key role to play in creating condition for such projects to succeed.
