GREEN Waste Network for a sustainable development.
While the global waste management market is one of the biggest speaking in sustainability markets terms, with more than USD 1,413.1 billion in revenue forecast by 2030; we're actually being incapable of recycling less than 20% of the 1.9 billon tones annually world waste production, even in collection processes we're collecting less than 80% o the total waste we produce. Yet some countries accross the world does not have an efficient waste management process, as in in Africa where less than 5% of the countries have build efficiency in waste management, yet only 4% municipal waste generated is recycled, while 70-80% is estimated to be recycled, and more than 90% of the MSW is disposed of at uncontrolled dumpsites and landfill, very often with associated open burnings. Our solution is committed to provide a waste network wich will facilitate advanced support to small communites and cities in those countries helping them to improve their waste management process; this network facilities includes: finance, technical support, consultancy, technologies (...) wich we believe will improve the knowledge about waste and reduce global impact and the current gaps related to these problems. As the problematic is currently affecting all communities in all countries we know that this process will add also a step to encourage creation of small business related to waste collection and segregation.
Waste network describes strategies which combines technology, environment management skill, business management, and other capabilities together with the mission of reducing by zero the gap of inefficient waste management accross the world.
The solucion pretend to create a network facilities available for those waste management initiatives across the globe, involving most of the in a communication, experience, difficulties between them but mostly focusing on those who has successful use cases, which could share their processes to other in order to create solucion for all, supporting SGD submissions related to GAS EMISSIONS REDUCTION, RESPONSABLE PRODUCTION AND CONSUMPTION(...).
With Waste Network will have impact in various small local communities, as we are trying to solve not only investment process while creating or implementing an effective and efficient waste management programs, but keeping in touch with each other; we're making sure that we provide access to a global shareable community of experts, which will give technical, professional, economic supports. Global population is suffering from waste production and all communities have a commitment to completely eliminate waste, this truth have made the existence of big companies in some counties whom have a complete missions to provide clean energies, reduce plastic consumption and production and other types of waste, other initiatives are trying to implement simple waste management processes; this solution will directly impact in small communities and cities in a specific country or between countries, enabling networks facilities which they will use to properly execute, share and compile specific difficulty or solution. Building this project we are making sure that waste is being managed in all corners of the world and that success stories in areas with similar characteristics will be correctly replicated.
As previously mentioned there are many initiatives whose provide financial support to deal with the problem of waste management, but reducing the impact of waste requires more than technical skills and investments, it requires sharing experience and strategies, it requires supporting specific areas and enabling problem resolution during the process.
A waste network will enable a complete support process from the investment, technical support as well as tracings to the implementation process ensuring their solutions have been well implemented, and thier contributions to the environment is effective.
We have been building educational programs for environmental sustainability, eco tourims, art and transportation, organic waste solutions and currently working on the implementation of a national waste management program. We're recognized as on of the three greatest entrepreneur in innovation and sustainability with totalEnergies startupper of the year program.
We also serve our community with implementation of environmental programs in schools and institutions, support small rural communities creating efficients programs which help the implications of those populations.
Our country as many countries is part of those who submitted to:
- SDG promotions within the United Nations.
- We are also subscribed to 2063 African agenda which is focused on sustainable development, youth and woman empowerment, but also in environmental and united community.
- REDD++ community with an approach based on competitiveness, sustainability, integrated land management, food security, social and gender equity.
Some specific programs (called PNDES H2035): which promotes citizens participations in sustainable environmental development but also for economic diversification and women empowerment.
All this policies allow us to be able to replicate our projects and programs, since every country need to contribute to support a sustainable environment for all.
- Help communities understand and incorporate climate risk in infrastructure design and planning, including through improved data collection and analysis, integration with existing systems, and aligning financial incentives such as insurance.

- Pilot: An organization testing a product, service, or business model with a small number of users
We have enrolled more than 14 programs in less than one year, impacting directly in more than 1000 peoples, and more than 5k peoples who have been part of of our programs indirectly, applying to our green-solution challenge, to a social challenge (...).
We think SOLVE offer a huge opportunity to help the implementention of this project; most of the barriers while trying to implement a network (specially in global scopes) comes from having enough contacts which facilitate the engagement of various initiatives. We truly believe that if we are selected and announce properly this initiative through MIT network we will have big support either for consultancy, technical facilities or other types, we also believe that MIT could support the adhesion of countless initiatives with which we aspire to work around world in the near future. This project as many other need financial to start a pilot but also technical support wile implementing an E-NETWORK, travel facilities that will help analyze and engage initiatives, effective communication in appropriate existence networks (...)
- Business Model (e.g. product-market fit, strategy & development)
- Financial (e.g. accounting practices, pitching to investors)
- Human Capital (e.g. sourcing talent, board development)
- Legal or Regulatory Matters
- Monitoring & Evaluation (e.g. collecting/using data, measuring impact)
- Product / Service Distribution (e.g. delivery, logistics, expanding client base)
- Public Relations (e.g. branding/marketing strategy, social and global media)
- Technology (e.g. software or hardware, web development/design)
Most of all global environmental initiatives related specially to waste are focused on supporting financially, and description of the impact after those implementation; but we know as we've spoken with other innovators and initiatives that waste management process are similar in most of the places but different in implementation, abilities needed (...) if finally, a waste management in an entire country is very expensive and the ROI related is not easy to obtain due to the lack of efficient environmental education among other problems. But, many initiatives have fought with those obtacles and yet obtained positive result. How to reach out those initiatives and know what they are main factors of success? Can we apply those to other similar communities and still have posive results? How to build efficient and effectives programs in countries where they lack of experience and important professionals background to build an efficient waste management program? Is there a way to create a network of investors, financial supporters, professionals experienced people, innovator and more?
Waste network aims is to create those facilities. This network pretend to support, accompain and share success cases and if necessary replicate those cases in order to create a sustainable global waste management program.
We have set a goal fo the next year to exchange all E-WASTE collected locally to a an appropriate recycling industry in a sub-regional country; this will help test the exchange section of this project.
The next five years we will focus on:
- Analyze waste management projects,
- build a platform where innovators, financial supporters and others would be able to share and contribute to waste cause.
- Replicate our local environmental education.
- 1. No Poverty
- 4. Quality Education
- 5. Gender Equality
- 7. Affordable and Clean Energy
- 9. Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure
- 11. Sustainable Cities and Communities
- 12. Responsible Consumption and Production
- 13. Climate Action
- 17. Partnerships for the Goals
As an envirionmental organization, our mission is aligned with SDG 5, 7, 8, 11, 12, 13 and 17; this project concretely is focused on the 5, 8, 11 and 13 because with:
- SDG 5: we promote gender equality and empower women and girl within our process, our goal it to create a 50% equality and we support small craft businesses women led by women an girls.
- SDG 8: we are promoting of a sustained, inclusive and sustainable growth, as actually small initiative in somewhere of the world are creating sustainable growth through appling recycling processes, been able to create a network where they will share and learn from each orther we craate many employment opportunities. Reuse Process can create more than 200 times as many jobs as landfill and incinerators. Recycling can create around 70 times as many jobs as lanfill and incinerators. Remanufacturing can create almost 30 times as many jobs as landfills and incinerators.
We believe that the waste network support this objectives and can assure that after 3 years of implementation we will match at least 5% of this objective.
SDG 11: as waste is the most significant problem a COMMUNITY or CITY can face; our metrics here are based on how useful are the projects improved o created within the waste network; this will need the measurements of total impact craated in terms of employment, inclusion and gender equity (...)
SDG 13: Only cutting your food waste your carbon personal footprint by up to 300 kilograms/year. We want to meet up a reduction of gas emissions to up to 10tons/year.
- Measure small communities environmental awareness.
- Reduce Pollution effects.
- Protect groundwater source
- Ensure sustainability.
We expect to have impact on the problem because this solution is creating a social ecosystem which basically give cross opportunities to waste initiatives around the world, improving employment capabilities, attract more people to invest time, efforts, finance and skills dealing with waste, motivating the generation of new types of sustainable business and much more.
World bank environmental analysis suggests a very high income for the next decades while solve waste management difficulties, SDG are encouraging people nation and organization to engage with global sustainable principles; many initiatives are being born as part of fostering this commitment, but still not capable to face 20% of global waste; 99% of the waste produced in Sweden is recycled; United States recycling rates is 32% sin 1960 impacting directly for more than 685 thousand jobs and 37.8 billon in wase with more than 65% of the waste industry controlled by the private sector. Every index includes a long term period (between 20-40) years, to make an impact in every community we need to start sharing now, every outcomes from successful countries, communities and or cities. In short term, global evaluation needed, support to implementation in schools (...) are being also strategies from Nordic countries and their leading the ratio of best efficient waste management countries. All this process can be almost fully replicated. Index of total worldwide waste will be up to 2 times the actual according to a world back prediction, we will need more collaborations and more partnerships to deal with the project.
