Blue Filter
1 High rate of unemployment and poverty among marginalized groups of farmers
2 Exploiting the situation of farmers and the poverty in which they live to work at very low wages and not achieve equality in work
3 Farmers' children dropped out because of poverty and lack of education
4 Resorting to impermissible acts in order to bring livelihood and luxury
5 Selling agricultural lands due to desertification and lack of financial resources
6 High costs of purchasing water, fertilizer, and fodder for agricultural work and achieving business continuity
7 The high prices of available alternatives to purifying water and providing water suitable for irrigation
8 The spread of diseases due to the misuse of polluted water in agriculture
9 Land desertification due to the increase in salinity, nitrates, chlorides, and water scarcity in the aquifers.
10 Low productivity of plants and agricultural crops
11 The high cost of water for farmers
12 High levels of nitrates in water wells and fruit and vegetable crops as a result of improper use of chemical fertilizers
13 High cost of raw materials
14 The high cost of fertilizers
15 The high rate of unemployment as a result of the shrinking of the agricultural profession
16 Farmers' lack of knowledge about the problem of nitrates, salinity, and other problems and how they can deal with it and test it (low experience in new technologies)
Project: In the absence of clean water for agricultural fields in the world, the Blue Filter is designed to filter the high amount of pollutants (nitrates, salinity, and chloride) from water. The water treatment reduces the percentage of nitrate from 100% to 2 %, and of chloride from 100 % to 40 %, for farmers engaging in environmentally friendly practices. The innovation is a (plastic or metal) mould filled with treated plant seeds and then placed in water basins for treatment. This project will help farmers to get clean water for irrigation through green technology applied directly at the farm, with no need for transportation. It is expected to improve farmers’ financial condition (and create job opportunities) by 70% and increase the productivity of agricultural crops by 80 %.
The Blue Filter project is supported by an application and a website (Digital System), the aim of which is to educate farmers and customers about everything related to water, the environment and agriculture, in addition to following up on purification processes and addressing any problems during water purification processes and providing all the necessary information on the results Tests and the meanings of these data that are not known to everyone, especially the general public
This application seeks to support the environmental and water terminology of the category of farmers who suffer from very low levels of education compared to others.
As well as spreading awareness and education to the public and translating complex meanings and terms into a simple language that suits their level through the application and the site itself or through the advisory team that communicates with them personally.
The Blue Filter is an innovative filter for farmers that allows to significantly reduce excessive nitrates & pollutants in the water used for irrigation through the use of a mixture of plant seeds that are treated in environmentally friendly ways.
As the water treatment process takes place without the need for any chemical additives or electrical energy by placing filters in the water basins directly, we are contributing to a blue economy by reducing water pollution from agricultural runoff, and therefore sea pollution.
The nitrate and chloride removal rate is more than 98 percent

By visiting these partner institutions and cooperating with them, everything necessary was done for the farmer's groups by implementing the project in their agricultural lands and improving their agricultural situation through implementing workshops in partnership with these institutions and educating and training farmers to improve agricultural work.
Also, train them on the mechanism of using the project, how to deal with the data generated from the water treatment system, and how to read this data to raise their cultural level. Most of these institutions provide social support to marginalized groups of farmers and their families. That is why the Blue Filter Project concluded partnerships with these institutions in order to network and upgrade farmers and improve their economic situation and use these institutions in order to ensure continuity and preserve the agricultural profession
project contributes to SDG 8 "Decent Work and Economic Growth

The project does not depend on electricity or chemicals, in addition to the fact that the amount of treated water remains the same without any reduction in its quantity after treatment
ü Available system testing and examination.
- A new technology
The project are Treating water from pollutants (Salinity, Nitrates, and chloride) by decreasing the percent of (salinity from 100 % to 50 %, Nitrate from 100% to 2 % and chloride from 100 % to 40 %) for farmers initially in ways that are environmentally friendly By using filters whose components are natural plant seeds that have been treated and placed in special molds in order to be used directly with polluted water. The process depends on the principle of placing these filters in polluted water basins or direct use with water. Plant seeds, after use for more than 20 times, the seeds are re-cleaned and activated again in order to purify the water again from harmful pollutants, new technology of treatment and free from any chemical additions or the use of electricity as well as economic way in treatment, The project depends on the technology of water treatment with green technology without the need to use electrical energy or treatment plants, and this means that electrical energy is not used in treatment because the principle on which the project works is soaking, i.e. placing filters in basins or barrels in which water is intended to be treated after collecting water.
In addition, the treatment process does not require fuel, energy, filter membranes or chemicals, only depends on the principle of treatment using clean energy.

Economic, social and environmental impacts:
The Blue Filter's project serves multiple purposes most of which is providing safe and clean water for agriculture and the public in general. The growing demand for safe, clean, and healthy water for agricultural use and residents has created the need for such a product. Blue Filter is an economical water purification system developed to provide clean irrigation water for agricultural uses. Blue Filter uses an environment-friendly technology without the need for electricity that aims to treat water from pollutants such as salinity, nitrates, and chloride. The project will also improve the economic situation of farmers by training them how to treat water by themselves and through benefiting from the treating process outputs products such as organic animal feeds and chemical-free fertilizers. Blue Filter also enjoys the following advantages - Improving the economic situation by developing farmers' products and networking them with the local market - Guiding farmers on how to correct agricultural practices in order to reduce costs, increase agricultural --production productivity, and transfer experience to their families. - Enhancing the ability of small farmers to improve their standard of living and enhance their steadfastness - Contribute to preserving and protecting natural resources - Enhancing the ability of farmers to respond to emergencies and various variables and instability - Empowering farmers to defend their democratic and national rights - Providing environmentally friendly and economical sources of irrigation - Enhancing the productivity and sustainability of family farming for climate-resilient farming systems - Supporting youth and ensuring the sustainability of family farming across generations - Socio-economic inclusion, resilience, and well-being of family farmers and rural households and communities.
