cassava flour, ethanol and bio-plastic
- Pre-Seed
The idea is optimizing the multiplicity of end use of cassava for the production of innovative and eco-friendly materials like flour, ethanol and bioplastic. People across world would have access to clean energy, environmental friendly plastics and access to wheat flour alternative available all year round.
Cassava is a agricultural raw material that is easy to grow and available all year round and due to its multiplicity of end use, the Notion is to process the cassava into three core products - flour, ethanol and bio-plastic. The concept behind these product is that they are in every way unique, innovative, and are needed globally where rise in population, climate change, global warming and air pollution poses a threat to urban communities and the health of its inhabitants. Cassava flour is gluten free and wheat flour alternative. Cassava flour is cheap, easy to cultivate and has a higher productivity when compared to other types of flour. Cassava ethanol is produced from the fermentation of cassava which is very rich in carbs. Ethanol is a renewable energy source and it's estimated to replace carbon-based fuels in the future making it suitable globally to combat global warming. The world is changing and so is the need for environmentally friendly and biodegradable materials like bioplastic which doesn't contain harmful chemicals like synthetic plastic from petroleum etc. If scaled successfully, it can be a very useful tool to combat hunger due to increasing population, fight global warming, increase the use of sustainable and renewable energy.
Hunger and starvation: it is estimated that by 2050, the world population will be twice the current number. These becomes a problem when people across the world can't afford good food and water.
The issue of global warming: The use of carbon emitting fuels like petroleum has result to the depletion of the ecosystem and these is a serious issue that has caused temperature rise globally.
The use of synthetic plastic: synthetic plastics becomes a threat to life when not properly manufactured, since they contain hydrocarbons like benzene if when taken can be harmful.
Cassava is a raw material that can withstand harsh weather condition like drought etc. cassava is a material if when cultivated can serve many uses. As food, cassava is rich in carbs and its widely consumed as flour and due to its high productivity when cultivated help reverse starvation. cassava is also rich in starch which is used to produced bio-plastics. 70% of cassava can be fermented making it suitable for ethanol production. cassava can be grown in any part of the world, a unique quality when compared to other crops in its fields (wheat, corn etc)
The solution will replace traditional method of how things are done like in baking, cassava flour will be available to communities where wheat flour can't be accessible. Bio-plastic disintegrate quickly which will prevent pollution of the environment. The target outcomes of these products is to reduce green house gas emission, hunger and environmental pollution. the beneficiary are people living in both urban cities and slums that lack access to materials or where the rate of environmental pollution is high. These materials will be made available to the market for easy accessibility or in some cases distributed to affected communities.

The solutions are unique in the sense that all three product is what the world needs in order to last long. The idea is that these solutions pose on threat to both life's and the environment. Since they are all biodegradable and can either be consumed completely or by organic action broken down to other forms without causing harm. The solution is categorically different from others in aspect of technology as it tries to bring out innovations in ways though impossible and solving environmental challenges. we explore the multiplicity of uses of cassava and how to produce bio-materials.
The whole technology is humanly centered, the technology eradicate totally pollutants from the environment that posses threat to life. The problem faced today in most communities is nothing more than pollution. Taking a good look at the idea, they are all non pollutant which means they are humanly centered in what they do as they help improves the life's of people rather than destroying it. The technology is humanly centered because it address the issue of pollution and food security that is a challenge to many communities and tries to improve human health without causing harm.
Go-Bio will partnership with companies and industries that will transform this materials to their useful needs which will then be deployed to the affected communities through marketing (advertisement, distribution) example, cassava flour will be distributed to baking factories, ethanol will be supplied to homes as cooking fuel or for driving locomotives. In the aspect of bio-plastic, we will partnership with companies to produce different materials. For it to be affordable by these communities, we will reduce the production tarrif of these product since we are not profit minded but dedicated in solving problems facing the world today.

Go-Bio is made up of people from different works of life. These dedicated individuals are working class individuals in their various fields. In order to sustain ourselves financially some steps have to be taken to enable us pilot, grow and scale up successfully. we will taxed ourselves on a monthly basis to promote research and the activities of the organisation. Our product will incure a little profit margin in order to enable us sustain ourselves financially.
(1) Capital: capital is the essential tool for any successful startup. Lack of capital to purchase the necessary technologies will limit the ability of the startup.
(2) No access to technology: our team lack the access to modern technology to enable us carry out our research more efficiently. Without technology like machines our target will be limited .
(3) cost of registration: the cost of registering a product under the government is very expensive.
(4) production: the cost of production of these material is capital intensive.

I see solve as a platform to make my idea a reality. The global crisis we face today can be solved by people only if the right equity and resource is available and the solve community is the right place for me. finding solutions to basic human problems and environmental crisis we experience globally and reducing it to the nearest minimum. Making my idea gain global recognition, execution and hooking up with the right partners is what i planned to achieve in becoming a solver.
