Neolingo, creating the shortest way of learning language
The language barrier is one of the main problems in civic learning, according to our data obtained from working at a language learning center for more than 5 years in Mongolia. During one of our campaigns, 75.4% of our former students were civil servants and at the managerial level in the private sector. During the survey, they answered that the biggest problem they faced in the workplace was not knowing English or any other language. Not knowing a sufficient level of English when the majority of information is written in English makes their job much harder. Day-to-day tasks, such as conducting research for work-related proposals or applying for government-sponsored educational opportunities are negatively impacted by this language barrier.
The other 24.6% were students from public schools, not one child from private schools. This shows how the quality of English classes in public and private is completely different. Thus, parents are left with one choice but to seek alternative avenues to support their children's education. But how about those who don't have the means to do so? This educational discrepancy persists in the workforce, as individuals who possess the desire to instigate positive change often lack the qualifications and authority required to bring about those transformations.
If we dive more into the language side of the issue, we have found that "sentence structuring" is the hardest part for learners to put into use. People learn a language 3x slower when there is a significant linguistic and cultural difference between the native and learning languages. With this knowledge, our team dived into the root of the problem. Based on 1570 students' exam data, we have discovered that reverse sentence structuring takes up about 50% of all errors by the students, whereas grammar and vocabulary make up 25% each.
Neolingo focuses on the "independent user level" to cut learning time by half with our "PUZZLEBLOCK-5 system" model that concentrates on and solves the above-mentioned “sentence structuring” problem. While other contributors in the field focus on learning new words, Neolingo focuses on making sentence structuring easy to understand.
To expand our services until 2028, our plan encompasses four key areas. Firstly, we aim to focus on the public sector by offering a specialized curriculum that promotes essential skills for active participation in civic life. Additionally, we intend to cater to students who are preparing for English proficiency exams, providing tailored support to enhance their chances of success. We also plan to offer a regular user program, accommodating individuals seeking language learning opportunities beyond specific exams or professional contexts. Furthermore, we aim to introduce a kids program to cater to young learners.
In the long term, our ultimate goal is to reach every individuals who aspire to bring about positive changes in their lives but face limitations due to their lack of English proficiency. We are dedicated to creating equal educational opportunities for all.
Significantly, our solution not only fosters equal opportunity but also expedites the language learning process, leading to time savings, cost-effectiveness, and reduced emotional pressure.
The pain of being undervalued just because of my poor English language skill while growing up made me think about the choices I needed to make for my future. As time passed, I saw that my problem was a systemic issue that not only I was dealing with but numerous domestic students. I decided not just to wait around but to do something, in this case, to build the language center. When I started my linguistic startup Brighton LLC in 2018, I had no experience and financial background but only the passion to change how people learn a new language. Today, we are one of the few edtech companies in Mongolia that were able to create our first mobile application called the SAM app last year. In addition to it, we seek opportunities to work with policymakers to public organizations. With consistent passion, our voice was finally heard, and I was invited as a moderator in the “Transforming education summit” organized by the Ministry of Education in Mongolia and UNESCO to represent edtech companies to contribute our voice to the rest of the world toward changing education. As CEO, I worked with policymakers on a research paper on “Study of the Education system in Mongolia'' supported by the Ministry of Education.

Our new PUZZLEBLOCK-5 system, the systemized thinking based on the meaning expression, simplifies comprehensive language structuring only into five types of blocks. By utilizing a fully automated puzzle assembling function backed up by Google Natural language API processing, learners can swiftly construct a sentence using just five types of blocks, resulting in a significant reduction in the time required to learn a language (CERF A2-B2 level) from 44 weeks to 24 weeks. In addition, learners do their work according to the curriculum we prepared for 6 months while working on real-world stories.

We have a subscription model that charges 9 USD per user for six months. The users can choose from three plans: plan adults, plan kids, and plan enterprises. Each month a user is expected to work on 6 task boxes according to their chosen curriculum. Each task box has story practices along with key lectures and mini-tasks. The curriculum lasts for 6 months.

The solution we created for culturally different languages brought us to highly attractive markets. We expect to have a market of 3.8 billion USD in total. We are looking for 1.5 million USD in funds to expand into five international markets with six languages to reach $722m in revenue by 2027.
In 2024, Neolingo will focus on only culturally and linguistically different languages, especially Japan.
In 2024-2028, Neolingo will teach six different languages, expanding into the most attractive language-learning markets from Southeast Asia, the UK, and the USA.
In 2021, we secured a pre-seed investment from Socratus startup studio, which includes systemized training programs, various platforms for development, and other monetary assistance.
