A Call of a Generation
Whatever efforts governments make, whatever they invest in a country, if citizens do not get involved, our nations will not develop. It is imperative to design innovative solutions to educate and empower citizens with the confidence and skills to become invested in the governance of their countries. This is why we created NTC. Our goal is to build by 2030 a generation of a new type of citizens, who are no longer spectators, but actors and co-producers of the governance of their communities and countries.
Our solution is to educate citizens through our Citizens Education Programs, we produced free accessible 24/7 MASSIVE Open Online Courses (MOOC), videos, and PDF courses with 600 users in just three years (2020 – 2023). We produced a TV show call the New Type of Citizens, which airs on national TV every Thursday evening, reaching more than 1 million citizens. We disseminate videos and chronicles in local languages on social media, and we lead in-presence education sessions in rural and urban areas, reaching more than 250,000 citizens, with whom we stay in touch through the 45 NTC clubs, which we created to enable them to continue cultivating the five pillars of the NTC Movement philosophy.
Through our Citizens Participation Programs, we bring citizens to practice what they learned, by collaborating with public authorities to solve local problems and influencing policies. To date, we fostered 336 collaborations between citizens and the city councils, 809 interactions between citizens and the police, and more than 100 development mini-projects in rural areas.

Those results are insignificant compared to the impacts we created in changing positively citizens lives.
The NTC team is made of so may people from various background. The team lead is specially experimented in providing solutions to young people all over the country. Through his work as a Program Specialist at the US Embassy he has been working for more than a decade in Project management regarding innovative ideas and solutions to problems faced by the community.

Even though we were newly created, we finished among the top 5 winners of the African Union Youth Innovation Challenge on Democracy and Governance in December 2020. In 2021, we became the only non-governmental institution, which secured a partnership with the public broadcast station in Benin to produce its own TV show, airing every week. In November 2022, out of 400 organizations which applied to present their innovations during the 2022 World Forum for Democracy at the Council of Europe, NTC was among the top three selected to present at the European Parliament. In 2023, we hope to win a UN SDG Action Award and presents the NTC idea at the UN general assembly. Winning would help to push us further in our dream to make NTC a continental and worldwide movement. Our hope is that by the time that our generation grows old, we would have worked tirelessly to educate the youth and the children to a new mentality and a new way of exercising their citizenship, with them embodying the five pillars of NTC to ensure that the world has a glorious future and becomes a better place.

We cannot achieve development and democracy cannot be sustained if the majority of the population stays passive. Government of the peoples by the peoples for the peoples can only be a reality, if the peoples stop being spectators and start getting involved. But how will they get involved if nobody taught them to do so? How can the peoples be actors and co-producers of the governance of their communities if they did not acquire the culture of doing so? SDGs are not just milestone goals to achieve. They are values and cultural norms that societies should acquire. It is to teach peoples at the grassroots level, and build a movement of citizens who cultivate those values in their daily lives that we founded the New Type of Citizens Movement (NTC Movement). NTC is a philosophy of life based on five pillars. It is a way of living, which encourages citizens to cultivate five fundamental values in their daily lives, inspiring them for positive change, and leading them to shift their behavior for the SDGs. NTC brings citizens to the heart of democracy and makes them the central actors of a living and sustainable development. This initiative is sSupported to date by privileged partners such as the African Union (Partnership aimed at duplicating replicating the NTC MOVEMENT in other African countries), the IYF Organization (Partnership aimed at producing content for mentality-changingpositive behavior curriculuma and paradigms), the Office of Radio and Television of Benin (media partnership that promotes the production and dissemination of the program "NEW TYPE OF CITIZENS" program); the REPUBLICAN POLICE of BENIN (Partnership to implement concepts of citizen participation through the practice of Community Policing), etc. The NTC concept is a philosophy of life based on 5 fundamental pillars. The NTC Mouvement is aiming at a bigger range of Citizens impacted. We are currently touching a million through our TV show and 600 learners in our website. We would like to reach 1500 learners by the next year and 2 millions people on our TV Show.
