Astera’s purpose is to create a global network that could integrate and activate the participation of whole communities to solve any issues and problems they might have, using the PICNIC Strategy as a social tool to make that happen.
Through simple "picnic events", the project invites intire communities to bond with nature, promote inclusion and diversity; connect people, purposes and projects in all processes to become sustainable.
Having its methodological basis in the Theory U, developed by Otto Scharmer at PI/MIT, the PICNIC Strategy respects traditions and cultures of the chosen communities, and naturally ensures emphathy.
PICNIC has been implemented in five states of Brazil. Its efficiency has been submitted to a very criterial examination and pragmatic experience. Its affordable and sustainable method is already proven since there are very low costs involved. There is a waiting list of actions and programs to be implemented.
