SOROBAUN CALCULATOR

Almost 3.7 % of the population in the world have vision problems like me as I became blind 2 years ago and I was needing something to occupy my mind doing something usefull avoidingdepression and some people can commit suicide after feeling that they are useless and not  produtive individue, but after I started using the old Soroban I was feeling better trainning to calculate, but even it was difficult because it is unfriendly even to normal human, then I decided to create a new kind Soroban abacu  suitable to everyone making children , or an engineer like me happy to manipulate it.   

SOROBAUN calculator was created because all abacu are not friendly to use and are difficult to manipulate because they are complicated and those that are using have to memorise many numbers and position  and it gets worse for blind people. But we have changed it improving the old Soroban creating SOROBAUN  that is friendly to use by children, elderly, engineers, and to help impaired vision person that need a simple tool but efficient and quicker giving faster secure results. SOROBAUN  is easy to type and our fingers can move precyzely to the right and correct number without mistakes helping to calculate faster and everyone can really enjoy becoming a master doing calculations even square roots, multiplying big numbers.

SOROBAUN was created modifying adapting the old Soroban abacu used by oriental people. We have changed drastically the old Soroban geometric , positions of those small pearl that are little balls that have value like 1 or 5. The geometry and positions was essential to make SOROBAUN  easier and friendly than the old ones making unecessary to memorise figures and positions. But another very important advantage and caracteristic of the our new SOROBAUN  is: The user do not need to keep moving their fingers to find and remember the numbers and values making it or the new SOROBAUN much more fast and secure to calculate complicated and large figure like hundred of millions or simple small figures too of course.  

I am studying at the INSTITUTE OF BLIND PEOPLE FROM CENTRAL REGION OF BRAZIL, and they teach around 1,000 impaired persons, also normal children and babies. But SOROBAUN Project is not made only for them as we want to reachand offer to   all blind people around the world helping them to learn mathematics to get a job or to keep them exercising their brain preventing mental illness  and depression problems.

The Institute for blind people I am studying have helped me a lot to start living better again and I started offering my help and work to the Institute  so we engaged to develop SOROBAUN  to make it available to whom wants to use or learn it. The Social Worker the lady Ms. Celia is helping me as a team and we work for free, we are not expecting remunaration. We are the right team because we know the problem that will be solved and its benefits, also we know the techniques to do it and we are doing it for free as we do not have funds necessary to pay for it. We already are getting help from an organization but it is going very slow them we decided to come here to solve this project and make it reality. 

The project SOROBAUN  wants to make it concrete to help not only impaired vision people but especially children showing them that Mathematics is easy to learn and very usefull to become a professional and get a job to live better. But not only children as SOROBAUN  is suitable to any gender or age and will help dramatically blind people. We want to spread SOROBAUN to all people in the world that wants to study or do it just for fun helping to improve their brain having a better healthier life increasing knowledge.

SOROBAUN project firstly aims to help schools offering a friendly tool to students or  anyone who wants to learn mathematics calculations for business or entertainment and of course we want to reach all impaired vision people around the world that are marginalised or are geing forgotten by the whole society without having a chance to learn something important to get a job to have a better live being usefull inside the community. SOROBAUN project is cheap to produce and who wants to support it will or can get profits because sometimes business people do not want to help without getting profits. This tool can be made using 3D printers or can be made using wood board, or can be extruded directly using PLA or another material environmentaly friendly. The profits are not huge but social impact is massive creating better minds inside our and for better world.

We want to start producing enough SOROBAUN to reach 0,1 % of 15 million people inhabitants of the state of Minas Gerais in Brazil that equals 15,000 units to sell for very acessible price for schools. Of course, we want to offer it to all 3.7 % of all impaired vision people around the world. Just by using the old Soroban after becoming blind and depressed I started feeling better using my mind  and even I started eating and getting weight improving my health. So, the benefits of the new SOROBAUN  that is easier to use will help millions of people that are blind totally or partially  and not only blinds but children inside schools or professionals. 

We were measuring by the improvement of my wellbeing, mood, how I started getting will to leave home and go to school to study and to eat food. We were doing those kind of measurements not counting units. Like now, I am able to start doing this application as before I was not able to do anything as my mind was not occupied doing usefull things, but now I am feeling happy trying to do and to share what we can do to help another person that is passing by the same problems or even worse difficulties than the mines.

The change that occurred in my life using a tool to keep my brain and mind working using the SOROBAUN tool  was incisive to me to get power to for example :_to do this application now trying to help anyone or another blind fellow.   

We are using an old existing technology called Soroban abaco used to make mathematics calculations. But we have changed dramatically the archtecture and concept of it improving accessibility making it friendly to anyone also easier for impaired vision people using also eco friendly materials. 

The SOROBAUN PROJECT wants to produce this tool abacco calculator  offerin it to all impaired vision person to sell units to schools or individuals, or shoppings, to start geting money being remunarated for selling these gadgets. Also, we want to offer it to institutes like the one I study called ICBC helping it to get money selling to schools or to anyone wishing to buy it.

Customer: Primary or basic schools, Universities, individuals willing to learn and use Sorobaun, special schools that teach disable or impaired vision person.

VALUE PROPOSITION: sorobaun offers a friendly simple easy calculator to multiply, divide, subtract, add, or for square roots that can be used by children, adults, disabled people and by impaired vision person.

CHANNELS: We will sell directly lybraries shops, schools, to Governmental organizations  and through the Internet, Facebook, instragram, Youtube.

CUSTOMER: Schools, shops, students, Universities.

RELATIONSHIP: We are already talking to coordenators of some schools that are showing a loto of interest to adopt SOROBAUN to improve learning of their children, and also the INSTITUTE of blind in Uberaba city is a hub that all people from the region come here to treat and learn, it means around more than 5 million people know the Institute.

REVENUE: We will sell SOROBAUN for a very affordable price as our intention is to help people with health problems or disabled or blind. For this reason we will get support from big industires from our region that are willing to help and fund the project.

KEY RESOURCES: Our resources are real people that loves to help the community offering support helping to melliorate the community wellbeing.

 KEY ACTIVITIES: Help disabled people and impaired vision person that want to learn or even do not know about it but we will offer them this tool to improve their wellbeing and increase thei education and knowledge. 

KEY PARTNERS: Federal government an local government, private companies that already are willing to fund and few organizations from the region. 

We, myself and Ms. Celia the Social Worker of the ICBC Institute of blind, are showing the project to big private companies asking them forsupport to fund totally the project or part of it. We have received few confirmations making or giving us a lot of hope that the project will go ahead. Of course, we will get help or funds from local government and federal governmen and few organizations that want lower their tax . Also, the community of our impaired vision person are big and all are willing to help selling SOROBAUN tools and getting involved finding channels to sell and funds.

 Already we have contacted several companies showing them our project and its importance asking for funds, and we have received positive answers saying they will provide part of the funds or maybe the whole amount. But we will get revenue selling SOROBAUN units to shops and schools directly, not only inside our state also to more states in Brazil.
