Mobility, recovery and independence is what people seek when faced with a healthcare crisis. Unfortunately, the pathway is not equitable for the 15% of 61M people in the U.S. with a disability facing mobility challenges. This is a result of disjointed processes, 33% of physical therapists report excessive documentation as the largest burden created by system and supplier deficiencies. Contributing to high rehospitalization rates post injury for this underrepresented community. 30% of individuals with Spinal Cord injuries are re-hospitalized one or more times during any given year post injury. Lastly, when disability, chronic pain and circumstances intersect mental health struggles arise according to research from the University of Michigan. 59% of adults with Spinal Cord injuries, compared with 31% of the general public face mental health challenges. The lack of an holistic system fails to support the recovery journey for my community.
We provide healthcare organizations technology that streamlines equipment procurement and offers a better way to equip their patients for the entire recovery journey.
Our AI-enabled platform reimagines the equipment procurement process for healthcare professionals and their patients with paralysis related disabilities. Aggregating the processes from the hospital entry, through discharge and patient follow-up, we enhance results.
Its centralized supplier management and impactful resources allows providers to get the most relevant medical equipment, supplies, and assistive technology to meet their patients’ needs and enable healthy outcomes. With our holistic technology, we are capturing data trends of potential rising risks leading to rehospitalizations in post-acute care.
This global estimate for disability is on the rise due to population ageing and the rapid spread of chronic diseases, as well as improvements in the methodologies used to measure disability. The Global market landscape.
Total Available Market (TAM): 15% of the world's population have some form of disability. Global DME market size was USD 208.5 billion in 2022.
Serviceable Available Market (SAM): U.S. durable medical equipment market was USD 59.6 billion in 2022.
Serviceable Obtainable Market (SOM): 1 in 4 of adults in the U.S. have some type of disability. 14% of those have a mobility related disability. Equating to roughly a 8 billion market opportunity. Diagnoses: Spinal Cord Injury, MS, Stroke, Cerebral Palsy & Other causes.
We begin our business journey focused on the paralysis related disability community in the United States. Healthcare is the biggest spend of the GDP but those dollars and the industry is do not use it efficiently in minority communities. By simply using technology and less documentation we increase the positive results during the first encounter versus several encounters later.

- Prototype: A venture or organization building and testing its product, service, or business model, but which is not yet serving anyone
We recently completed an IBM mentorship program with our second prototype and quickly improved our design processes. Our mentor assed design as it pertained to the voice of the customer and connected us with one of her colleagues that helped us improve our design for the user experience and AI capabilities. We developed a phased approach to development including the client feedback at each phase. At the end of programming, we were able to align our strategy and measures better with customer priorities.
Currently we are not a live product.
We’ve been active, we started this process with the social enterprise donation from UberWAV. Then we received a grant from West Side United, an organization partially funded by four local hospitals serving diverse communities. We secured a letter of intent from the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab, the top physical medicine and rehabilitation hospital in the country. In addition, we’ve created a pipeline of Chicagoland organizations that are seeking better solutions.
We have built validation with the top physical medicine and rehabilitation in the country, the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab through in-depth customer discovery. We plan to land and expand with their Alliance program once we find product market fit. To acquire more clients, we plan to attend regional and national conferences targeted at physical medicine and rehabilitation hospital care.
LiveEquipd has been able to understand the gaps in the procurement process and post-acute engagement with patients as they navigate their recovery journey. We've updated our focus on using AI with the help of Microsoft for Startups and MassChallenge & IBM mentorship programming over the last year.

Solution. How it works…
We simplify coordination & procurement in one place using a cloud based solution. To streamline processes from hospital entry to patient follow-up.
We curate insurance verified suppliers in marketplace providing a database of suppliers for prompt orders. giving more time back for patient care & staff self-care.
We compile data & analytics to guide long term results capturing overall wellness metrics and improving patient outcomes. Using technology to capture trends of potential rising risks leading to rehospitalization.
We bring interoperability that now is legally required to a space that never had it before.
In year one, We expect to be live with Eden Supportive Livings four locations for our pilot phase.
Then taking that proof of concept to our first Letter of Intent provider the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab for our first large enterprise client.
In years two through five we will then expand throughout the state of Illinois to all 24 alliance locations.
Along with the client expansion of rehabilitation and physical medicine location we will then take steps towards health systems partnerships and the long term goal is insurance provider relationships once we have the data showing our value.
