Waspito
More than 500 million people in Africa have to travel over 5km before seeing a doctor. This distance multiplies exponentially if they have to see a specialist doctor. Although internet penetration is relatively low, over 43% of Africa has access to internet connectivity even very remote areas have access to internet. Waspito leverages this continuous progress of internet connectivity to provide a doctor for every African family from the comfort of their homes. Over 40% of medical ailments can be resolved without a physical meeting with the doctor. Over 5 billion USD could be saved if this geographical and human resource gap is met. Over 5 million people die each year on the way to the hospital. This is should not be the case in an era where access to internet is available in far end villages where roads are inaccessible.
Waspito is a mobile application present on App and Playstores. With this application, users have a list of over 850 doctors in different specialities and can call any of them in just 3 clicks and have a video session with them. paying a very minimal fee through telecommunication companies' payment solutions.
Consultations could be video, audio, text or voice messages based on the internet strength and preference of the users. Users can order a mobile laboratory service to get sample collections at home and or drug delivery services.
This platform also enables the user to interact with other users for support and get second opinions for free.
Doctors using the same application are able to work remotely and make extra income.
Waspito serves every African who has access to the internet and requires a health service. Waspito enables them to save time and cost of travelling to cities for consultations and follow-up visits.
