Diagnosed
Our solution aims to address the problem of limited access to affordable healthcare, which is a widespread issue in many communities around the world. The scale of the problem is significant, as millions of people worldwide lack access to basic healthcare services, which often leads to preventable illnesses and deaths.
In developing countries, the problem is particularly acute, where access to healthcare is limited due to factors such as a lack of infrastructure, resources, and trained medical professionals. According to the World Health Organization, over half of the world's population lacks access to essential health services, with low- and middle-income countries bearing the brunt of this problem.
Our solution aims to address this problem by leveraging technology to provide a platform for medical professionals to diagnose patients accurately and efficiently, even in remote or underserved areas. By incentivizing accurate diagnoses through a reward system, we aim to encourage more doctors to participate in this platform, thereby increasing access to healthcare services and improving health outcomes for patients.
Our solution aims to address the issue of limited access to accurate medical diagnosis, particularly in low-income areas where an estimated 400 million people globally lack access to essential health services. In sub-Saharan Africa alone, over 50% of people lack access to essential healthcare services due to limited healthcare infrastructure, high costs of healthcare, and limited access to healthcare information.
To provide accessible and accurate medical diagnosis in underserved communities, our platform leverages technology and community participation. It presents medical practitioners with a list of symptoms from a patient, challenging them to diagnose the patient's condition accurately. To vote for the most accurate diagnosis, medical practitioners will need to pay. The condition that receives the most votes will be considered the accurate one, and 80% of all the funds collected will be shared among the medical practitioners that voted for that condition. Another 10% will be used to purchase and distribute medical supplies and drugs at a heavily subsidized rate to authenticated healthcare practitioners within the patient communities.
The platform incentivizes medical practitioners to contribute their skills and promotes accessibility to essential health services through a reward system. The technology used is a blockchain-based system, ensuring transparency and security in the reward distribution process.
The data collected from the diagnosis challenge will be used to train an AI model. The goal is to develop a mobile app that patients and medical practitioners can use to receive a diagnosis.
Our target population is people who live in underserved communities, particularly in low-income areas, and who lack access to essential healthcare services. Globally, an estimated 400 million people lack access to essential health services, and in sub-Saharan Africa alone, over 50% of people lack access to essential healthcare services. These people are often underserved due to limited healthcare infrastructure, the high cost of healthcare, and limited access to healthcare information.
Our solution is designed to address their needs by leveraging technology and community participation to provide accessible and accurate medical diagnosis. Through our platform, patients in underserved communities can receive an accurate diagnosis from qualified medical practitioners without having to pay for it. Medical practitioners are incentivized to provide accurate diagnoses through a reward system, and the use of blockchain technology ensures transparency and security in the reward distribution process.
In addition, 10% of the funds collected from the platform will be used to acquire and distribute or heavily subsidize medical supplies and drugs to authenticated healthcare practitioners within the communities of the patients. This further promotes accessibility to essential health services in underserved communities.
By providing accessible and accurate medical diagnosis and promoting access to essential health services, our solution aims to improve the lives of people in underserved communities, who are currently unable to access the healthcare services they need to live healthy and productive lives.
Our team has extensive training and experience in blockchain development and has been writing contracts on the blockchain since 2015. Our interest in blockchain technology stemmed from the desire to create secure and transparent systems that can solve some of the world's most pressing issues, including those related to healthcare.
In our personal lives, we have experienced the stark differences between healthcare systems in developed and underdeveloped economies. Having lived in Europe, where most people have access to a reliable and affordable healthcare system that is largely covered by government-funded programs, we have seen firsthand the advantages of such a system. On the other hand, living in sub-Saharan Africa, where people often have to pay out of pocket for all their healthcare needs without any government assistance, has made us aware of the challenges faced by communities that lack access to essential healthcare services.
Our research has also enabled us to understand that, apart from financial reasons, many patients in underprivileged communities are often hesitant to seek medical attention because they fear being misdiagnosed and potentially worsening their condition. While this fear may seem irrational, it has some basis in reality, as developing countries often experience a brain drain, where highly skilled doctors leave for better-paying jobs in developed countries. This leaves the remaining doctors in developing countries with a heavy workload and increased risk of making diagnostic errors due to the sheer number of patients they have to care for.
These personal experiences and research have led us to develop a solution that leverages blockchain technology and community participation to provide accessible and accurate medical diagnosis, particularly in underserved communities. Our goal is to create a platform that encourages medical practitioners to contribute their skills to aid in the treatment of patients who may not have access to essential healthcare services. Through this platform, we hope to incentivize accurate diagnoses through a reward system that promotes transparency and security in the distribution process. Additionally, the platform's data will be used to train an AI model, with the goal of eventually developing a mobile app that patients and medical practitioners can use to receive accurate diagnoses remotely.

Our solution is innovative in several ways that have the potential to make a significant impact on the healthcare industry. One of the key features that sets us apart from other solutions is our use of blockchain technology. By leveraging blockchain, we can ensure transparency and security in the reward distribution process for medical practitioners who accurately diagnose patients. This provides a level of trust and confidence in the system, which is particularly important in underserved communities where trust in healthcare systems may be lacking.
Furthermore, our platform incentivizes accurate diagnoses through a reward system. This approach encourages medical practitioners to contribute their skills to aid in the treatment of patients in underserved communities. We believe that by involving many medical practitioners in the diagnosis process, we can not only improve the accuracy of diagnoses but also increase community engagement in healthcare. The patients do not have to pay for the diagnosis, and 10% of all rewards goes towards providing their care takers with medical supplies and drugs at highly affordable prices or even for free.
Another innovative feature of our solution is that the data collected from the diagnosis challenge is used to train an AI model. Eventually, this AI model will be used in a mobile app to provide accessible and accurate medical diagnosis. This approach has the potential to significantly improve access to healthcare in developing countries where there may be a shortage of medical professionals.
Our solution's focus on community participation and the use of incentives to promote accuracy and reliability in patient diagnoses has the potential to catalyze broader positive impacts in the healthcare space. By promoting accuracy and reliability in medical diagnoses, we can help to build trust in the healthcare system, particularly in underserved communities where people may be hesitant to seek medical attention. Additionally, by incentivizing medical practitioners to contribute their skills, we can help to address the brain drain that often plagues developing countries.
We believe that our solution could change the market by setting a new standard for accuracy and reliability in medical diagnoses. By creating a platform that prioritizes community participation and incentivizes accuracy, we can help to build a better, more resilient, and stable healthcare system. As more people see the benefits of our solution, we hope to inspire others in the healthcare space to adopt similar approaches, leading to broader positive impacts for communities around the world.
Our impact goals for the next year are to onboard at least 20 local clinics on our platform and diagnose at least 2,000 patients through our reward-based diagnosis challenge. We will achieve this by partnering with local health organizations and leveraging our networks to promote the benefits of our solution to medical practitioners and patients.
Over the next five years, our impact goals are to diagnose at least 50,000 patients and expand our reach to at least 10 developing countries. We plan to achieve this by continuing to onboard more local clinics and healthcare providers onto our platform, expanding our partnerships with local health organizations, and utilizing our data to train more accurate and effective AI models for diagnosing illnesses.
In addition to these goals, we aim to improve healthcare outcomes and increase community engagement in healthcare in the communities we serve. We hope to build trust in the healthcare system by promoting transparency and reliability in medical diagnoses, as well as providing affordable or free medical supplies and drugs to patients and their caregivers.
To achieve these impact goals, we will need to continue to build partnerships with local health organizations, governments, and other stakeholders to increase access to our platform and build a sustainable ecosystem around our solution. We will also need to continue to invest in research and development to improve the accuracy and effectiveness of our platform and explore new ways to incentivize and reward medical practitioners for their contributions to improving healthcare in underserved communities.
