Mobi-L
Physiotherapy is an essential element of healthcare globally, with millions of people undergoing physiotherapy each year for various reasons ranging from post-surgery rehabilitation to chronic pain management. The demand for physiotherapy is increasing due to the aging population, sedentary lifestyles, and rising incidence of chronic diseases such as obesity, diabetes, and cardiovascular diseases. Additionally, stroke is one of the leading causes of death and disability worldwide, with approximately 15 million people suffering from a stroke each year. Of those who survive, around two-thirds will experience some form of disability, including difficulties with mobility, speech, and cognitive function. Globally, around 80% of stroke survivors do not receive adequate rehabilitation services, and up to 60% of patients with other neurological conditions also do not receive appropriate therapy. Post-stroke rehabilitation can significantly improve recovery outcomes, but access to these services is limited in many parts of the world, particularly in low- and middle-income countries.
Moreover, there are several challenges associated with physiotherapy. The traditional model of physiotherapy, which involves in-person visits to a clinic or hospital, can be inconvenient for patients who live far away from a physiotherapy center or have mobility issues. Additionally, traditional physiotherapy can be expensive, time-consuming, and may require multiple sessions, which can be a burden for patients who have to juggle work and family commitments.
Furthermore, access to quality physiotherapy is limited in many regions globally, especially in low- and middle-income countries, where there is a shortage of trained physiotherapists and healthcare infrastructure. In such areas, patients may not receive adequate physiotherapy, which can lead to poor outcomes, prolonged recovery times, and increased healthcare costs.
The lack of patient adherence to physiotherapy is another major problem. Patients may miss appointments or stop attending physiotherapy sessions due to various reasons such as lack of motivation, financial constraints, and inconvenience. This can lead to suboptimal outcomes and a waste of healthcare resources.
‘Mobi-L’, is a patented portable upper and lower limb physical rehabilitation device powered by robotics, 2D virtual reality and games, which in turn helps individuals undergoing physiotherapy recover faster by providing personalized training. It tracks an individual’s range of motion, strength, speed of movement, reaction time etc. objectively during various assessment and training modes. It uses a compact patent pending electro-mechanical system which consists of different sensors and actuators controlled using proprietary algorithms to allow for different modes of training which not only assist the patient in the early stages of recovery but also provide resistance for strength training in the later stages. Hence, making it useful throughout the process of rehabilitation till the patient is ready for performing various activities of daily living independently. By reducing physiotherapists' involvement by up to 25%, it reduces physical exertion and saves their time allowing them to treat more patients without compromising on treatment quality for the patients. Using 8 different attachments the same device can be used for training multiple joints of both upper and lower limb with 20+ different exercises increasing the usability of the device significantly and leads to a faster return on investment for the rehabilitation center. An integrated software is used for providing real time visual and audio feedback to the patient in the form of fun and engaging games, 3D simulations of activities of daily living like driving a car, cooking etc. in a safe and fun environment and which not only motivates them to do more repetitions but also uplifts their mood which leads to a more intense rehabilitation session which translates to faster recovery.
Mobi-L serves individuals who require post-stroke or post-injury rehabilitation, as well as those with mobility issues due to aging or other medical conditions. By offering an affordable and accessible rehabilitation option, Mobi-L has the potential to impact the lives of millions of people worldwide.
For patients, Mobi-L can provide personalized rehabilitation programs that can be tailored to their specific needs, and its gamification feature can motivate them to continue their therapy. It also reduces the need for frequent visits to hospitals, making rehabilitation more convenient and cost-effective.
For physiotherapists, Mobi-L can improve the quality of care and reduce the workload, as it can handle routine tasks and provide real-time feedback to the therapist on the patient's progress. The device also comes with multiple attachments and can be used for various exercises, providing versatility in therapy sessions. Mobi-L offers online training and support for physiotherapists to familiarize them with the device's features and functions.
Overall, Mobi-L can serve physiotherapy patients by improving their quality of life, reducing recovery time, and preventing long-term disabilities. For physiotherapists, it can increase the efficiency of the rehabilitation process, provide accurate data on patient progress, and reduce the workload.

We believe that by prioritizing these values in our work, we can create a more equitable and just society for all.
Rymo’s vision is to build a world-class, cutting-edge design and development enterprise, helping people globally rediscover their mobility, through a suite of value for money ‘smart’ products that enable measurable clinical outcomes, in active partnership with healthcare service providers. Our first product is a robotic system which helps patients recover from upper and lower limb mobility problems. We will reached the first 20 customers through inhouse sales and marketing efforts while leveraging word of mouth referrals from early customers. After getting initial product feedback from the market we will partner with key opinion leaders and local distributors to expand sales reach and provide maintenance service over a wide geography. We have now found a partner for the Indian subcontinent who has committed to purchase, sell and provide support for 100 units in FY2023-24.
Our revenue streams are obtained through direct sale of our solution to the channel partner and by providing annual maintenance for the same which includes software updates and device calibration & online support for preventive servicing procedures. The estimated cost for the customer is estimated to be Rs 5 to 7 Lakhs + Taxes. After considering other costs such as team salaries, marketing, sales & distribution, intellectual property, compliances & regulatory approvals, office rent & utilities our margin is estimated to be in healthy double digits. We are also looking at a subscription / rental model for chronic patients but will start its execution only after obtaining 200 clinics as customers.
