Gun Guardian
Our Law Enforcement experience has taught us that many gun owners store their firearms for easy access, rather than properly secured. When a child is in the home this can have tragic consequences. Gun Guardian is the only firearm safety device that allows the weapon to be loaded with a round in the chamber, is keyless, and is always attached to the weapon. This makes locking and unlocking extremely easy and very convenient. Due to the simplicity of the design, we feel firearm owners who purchase our devices will be inclined to securely store their firearms.
There are more than 393 million guns in circulation in the United States — approximately 120.5 guns for every 100 people.
1.7 million children live with unlocked, loaded guns. 1 out of 3 homes with kids have guns.
In 2015, 2,824 children (age 0 to 19 years) died by gunshot and an additional 13,723 were injured.
The majority of these shootings could have been prevented if the parents would have properly secured their firearms. Gun Guardian makes that process extremely fast, reliable, and convenient.
We have devices to serve all firearm owners, including Law Enforcement agencies and all branches of the Military.
Gun Guardian was founded by two State Law Enforcement Officers, who are also firearm armorers. We understand how firearms operate, and understand that you may need that weapon at any moment. We’ve designed our devices to be extremely easy to operate, therefore, no matter the level of firearm experience the authorized user should be very comfortable using our device.
Gun Guardian uses a simple method of “Shielding” the trigger of the firearm. If the trigger isn’t accessible, the firearm cannot be discharged.
The Shield completely encompasses the trigger until the correct security code is entered (digital version) or the registered fingerprint is read (Biometric version).
Once the correct code or signature is read, the Shield automatically and instantaneously retracts, exposing the trigger.
Gun Guardian is always attached to the firearm, even when unlocked. This makes re-securing the firearm extremely fast and easy.

Gun Guardian was developed by two State Law Enforcement Officers, who are also firearm armores.
There are many firearm safety devices on the market. Gun Guardian is referred to as an attachment, not a device. There is a very good reason for this. Safety devices require either multiple parts, and/or keys, and/or the firearm to be unloaded. This causes the firearm owner to not properly use the device, or store the key with the firearm.
Gun Guardian is the only firearm safety device that allows the weapon to be loaded with a round in the chamber, is keyless, and is always attached to the weapon ... even when unlocked. This makes securing, unlocking, and re-securing the firearm extremely fast, reliable, and as equally important, convenient.
Our devices use digital keypads, RFID, and biometric technology.
The digital keypads and RFID are extremely reliable to activate locking mechanisms.
Biometric technology is pretty good, but I wouldn’t classify it was extremely reliable. However, this technology is constantly progressing.
As Law Enforcement Officers, firearm owners, and second amendment supporters, we have designed Gun Guardian to our specifications.
These specifications make this product very effective, easy to operate, and extremely convenient.
Our product makes the firearm safer, but also allows the authorized user to instantly use the firearm if needed.

We are currently prototyping our AR-15 attachment, but we submitted quotes today (6/20/2019) to get injection molded parts. We expect to test final products within three months.
Our handgun attachment has been designed, and we have the CAD files. We put this attachment on “hold” due to lack of funding.
Once we have product, we will be able to serve civilians, Law Enforcement agencies, and Military Branches.
We attended SHOT Show in 2018. We had countless civilians, and Law Enforcement agencies wanting to purchase our attachments for their Officers. We were also approached by Military personal, and Security Forces wanting to purchase them as well.
Gun Guardian has six granted patents, and two additional pending.
I also have other firearm / firearm safety related ideas I intend to patent within the next six months.
Due to our experience, I’m confident Gun Guardian will be the best firearm safety attachment on the market.
Gun Guardian is self-funded. Our biggest hurdle is having the funds to pay for engineering, prototyping, testing, production, etc. It always comes down to money, right??
We hope to over come the “money barrier” buy winning this grant. If not, we will continue to put every extra penny we have into this. I know this WILL save kids lives.

Job experience. We are both State Law Enforcement Officers, and armorers.
I have carried a firearm on my side for over fourteen years now. I understand how they operate, and also how deadly they can be.
I have also leaned that many people leave their firearms loaded and unsecured, resulting in tragic consequences. Most people also choose to not use the provided firearm lock due to the complexity, and that they don’t allow the firearm to be loaded. Gun Guardian solves those problems.
I’m a Law Enforcement Officer trying to make a difference, and save a kids life. I’ve developed and designed a firearm safety attachment that meet all of my demands.
We’ve shown prototypes to Law Enforcement agencies (both State and Federal), Military personal (firearm instructors), and civilians. All had the same response ... “Are these for sale, we want them”.
I don’t know much about business, but I understand “Supply and Demand”. We have proved the need, and the demand. We are working on the supply.
We are in the process of getting Gen1 of our AR attachments produced. Once I have product in hand, I intend to personally visit local police departments, Sheriff’s Offices, and State Agencies.
I’ve had the opportunity to display our prototypes to Law Enforcement and Military personal. Once we demonstrate their capabilities, the product sells itself.
Gun Guardian is self funded. We have won two grants in the past from Smart Tech Challenges Foundation. The first grant was for $25,000 and the second was for $2,000.
Other than that, we take whatever we have left from our paychecks (which isn’t much by the way :) and we continue to push forward.
Once we start to sell product, any profit will go back into the company. We have other patents, and ideas we want to get to market.
Gun Guardian has been trying to get product to market for eight years now. We are self funded, which is why it’s taking so long.
We have accomplished more than I ever expected. Six granted patents, two addition pending, several Law Enforcement Chiefs wanting to buy our attachments for everyone of their officers, etc.
I’m reaching out to Solve for an attempt to win a grant. This grant would propel Gun Guardian much faster than we could on our own. The faster we can get Gun Guardian to market, the faster we can start saving lives.

If Gun Guardian was awarded a grant we would continue to personally fund our AR-15 attachment (patented) and get that to market, hopefully by the end of this year.
With the grant funding, we would simultaneously get our handgun attachment (also patented) to market. This attachment has the potential to save more lives, but we had to postpone it due to the higher prototyping and manufacturing cost.
Gun Guardian also has patents for devices that easily convert current firearms to “Smart” firearms.
We know that one solution won’t solve everyone’s problems / needs. This is why Gun Guardian developed several different solutions and has six granted patents. When we display our attachments, we get positive feedback from every type of shooter on at least one of them. From the single-parent who just purchased their first firearm for protection, to lifelong hunters, and combat veterans. We have an effective and positive solution for every firearm owner.
