Jattat
Over 40% of food produced in Nigeria is lost during the post harvest process due to poor logistics, storage & distribution facilities. To solve this problem we built an agritech platform that enables individuals finance the post harvest process of transporting, storing & distributing food items.
Investors funds are warehoused with an agric trading firm that trades the agric produce under our supervision and at the end of an investment tenure which ranges from 3 months to 12 months, the investors get back their capital with profit. The investors get 40% of the profit, we take 20% & the agric trading firm takes 40%.
Trade is responsible for the growth of economies globally; if this idea is scaled globally it'll enable as many people as possible participate in the process of ensuring food security globally while reaping decent profits too.
In Nigeria over 40% of food gotten from harvest is lost due to poor logistics & storage facilities. Farmers produce and sometimes overproduce and they face the problem of getting it to the market or storing it when its excess ahead of when the produce will be scarce.
They're several individuals that'll love to participate in the agric industry but they're either not willing to get directly involved in the process or they're constrained by their day jobs, etc.
We match these two categories of people and enable them add value to each other.
We're working on improving the lives of farmers by providing them with the necessary finance & infrastructure to store and distribute their products.
The farmers just have to produce; we handle everything involved in the post harvest process for them.
