Kedebah Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP)
Most organisations (small, medium and large) have difficulties in accessing funds to support their businesses, and even when they do, lack the financial data and the needed reports to access such loan facilities.
The absence of adequate financial reporting also make it difficult for the banks to properly assess loan applications from these small and medium enterprises (SMEs). Thus, many constraints plague our Small and Medium Business Enterprises, but access to credit facilities is the chief. Other business constraints include access to the market, technical assistance and capacity building, and ecosystem development.
By offering the SMEs a tool that goes beyond capturing inventory data and sales records, to managing their financial and operational reporting, the bank not only set them up for possible future success and business expansion, but intern gets accurate data sources to influence their funding decision with regards to these SMEs.
The Kedebah ERP addresses these gaps and offer a win win solution for all stakeholders.
The Kedebah Enterprise Resource Planning is a comprehensive Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) that handle all aspects of a company’s operational processes. With its eight various modules, Kedebah enables quick decision-making as it offers mobility in its functions. The most important feature to note with Kedebah is that it comes pre-installed with the valuable tax brackets and statutory payroll deductions required by law. The eight Kedebah modules are; Warehouse & Inventory Management, Customer Relationship Management, Human Resource and Workflow, Payroll, Sales & Distribution, Project Management, Asset Management and Finance Management.
With Kedebah ERP, business enterprise owners can focus on growing their revenue base, expanding into new markets and positioning their businesses for expansion while the platform does handle all operational needs and decision-making reports and analysis.
Kedebah ERP is being used to deliver value to customers through; a) providing access to new revenue sources (tapping into social media platforms, online markets, etc. to promote revenue growth and client-based expansion), b) Providing a one-stop-shop experience (provides businesses with a single application that would support all their core functions and operational processes) and c) Promoting Business Expansion.
Kedebah also supports growth in MSMEs.
1. KEDEBAH ERP has 8 functional modules that can be accessed both on the web and a mobile application. KEDEBAH allows for businesses to start off with the most relevant modules while the business gradually grows into the others.
2. Most MSME clients mostly start with the INVENTORY & SALES Module or their business.
3. Data from the Inventory and Sales is synchronized with the FINANCE Module, so once the business wants to secure a loan facility for expansion, they are able to generate the needed reports without struggle.
4. Once the business expands and employee size starts growing, our HR Module is used to manage employee data, leave requests and payroll.
5. High Volume Sales Orders can be managed with the PROJECT Management Module as well as clients managed with the CUSTOMER RELATIONSHIP MANAGER.
6. The procurement modules can be used to manage purchase orders, and vendor accounts while the asset manager manages the company assets.
The solution targets Micro, Small & Medium Enterprise Industries (MSMEs) in Ghana and Africa at large. Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) are considered the backbone of the global economy because they dominate the global business environment. In Ghana, the MSME sector employs more than 80 % of the workforce and accounts for roughly 70 % of the national output. MSMEs are an integral part of the Ghanaian economy, and they have enormous potential for accelerating economic development, which is necessary for wealth creation and poverty reduction. Below are some characteristics of MSMEs:
◉ MSMEs are more labour-intensive than larger firms.
◉ They are mostly registered as sole proprietorships, and the largest employment category is working proprietors.
◉ The owner's family is involved in the business, though they are typically
considered unpaid staff. The remainder of the workforce comprises hired
workers and trainees or apprentices.
◉ They are mostly engaged in retail or manufacturing.
◉ MSMEs in Ghana are also classified as either urban or rural enterprises
MSMEs face the challenges identified below
◉ Limited access to finance or credit.E.g., the problem of the missing middle. MSMEs have limited financing options. E.g., bank requirements are too high, funding needs are lower than Private Equity funds but higher than rural banks and micro finances.
◉ Regulatory & Legal Constraints and Inadequate Managerial Skill. Thus, MSMEs have weak legal and regulatory frameworks. E.g., Public Procurement Act, formalizing businesses, etc. Thus,
◉ Limited Access to Market Intelligence
◉ Lack of 360 º Overview of Business
◉ Limited Access to Equipment & Technology for Business and Capacity Development
We identified the above-mentioned problems which MSMEs were facing and created Kedebah ERP which solves the 360 º Overview of Business, Access to Equipment & Technology, Regulatory & Legal Constraints and Inadequate Managerial Skill and Access to Credits/Investment Challenges. Kedebah ERP solves the MSMEs' challenges through its eight modules using the Inventory, Finance, 360 º Dashboard, Partnership, Asset Management, Project Tracker, HR and AI Engine Modules.
Below are the functions under the modules;

B. Finance Module

In summary, Kedebah ERP has an AI robot to manage the financial records and reports, modules that promote business growth and expansion, brings process efficiencies and promote digitalization in the SME, and enables businesses to tap into new revenue pools (Social Media Postings and E-Commerce, tailored to suit businesses of all types in the SME space and helps identify new business drivers based on the business type.
Npontu Technologies starting as a business, was challenged in managing its operational processes and exploring revenue generation and business expansion opportunities. Succeeding at both became difficult due to low digitalisation. With the need to find a better way of managing operational processes and revenue generation and company expansion, I, thought it wise to introduce the Kedebah Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) tool. Kedebah ERP as a tool, handles all aspects of a company’s operational processes. Thus, allowing business enterprise owners to focus on growing their revenue base, expanding into new markets and positioning their businesses for expansion while the Kedebah ERP handles all operational needs and decision-making reports and analysis. Micro, Small and Medium-scale Entreprises (MSMEs) face problems including Limited access to market intelligence, Lack of a 360-degree overview of business, Regulatory and Legal constraints and inadequate managerial skills, and limited access to credit/investment Limited access to equipment and technology. With our Kedebah Lite which targets Micro Entreprise industries, it has four modules which provides a 360-degree overview of the business and solves access to equipment and technology. The modules are 360-degree Business Overview, Inventory, Sales and Expense and Customer Management modules. Kedebah ERP targeting Small and Medium Entreprises has eight modules, as identified earlier.

This Kedebah ERP comes from proximate leaders because we, as a company, have encountered the above-mentioned problems as business, so we understand designed the solution to suit the problem.
Businesses that use Kedebah ERP and Lite must give feedback and reviews on the app and describe the journeys while using the app. All. this feedback are incorporated into updating the software to suit the needs and requests of MSMEs.

Npontu Technologies, in collaboration with the Ghana Enterprises Agency (GEA) and the Association of Ghana Industries (AGI) introduced a digital tool that can help transition micro businesses into Small and Medium Entreprises and doing that would influence the GDP of the country, which in extension, would increase employment and revenue gain in the country. This goal has been underachieved because Ghanaian entrepreneurs have a knowledge gap in the usage of technological tools. Traditionally, indigenes or businesses owners are not tech-savvy, and even the few who are, are not ready to use the tool. We therefore introduced a hand-holding approach but the sustainability of the hand-holding approach is a problem because people need to be assigned to manage and organise the books of these business owners., so that they can be tech-savvy. Hence, the challenge is more cultural as business owners are used to keeping records in books; hence, introducing them to the use of a digital tool has been a struggle.
- Financial (e.g. accounting practices, pitching to investors)
- Human Capital (e.g. sourcing talent, board development)
- Monitoring & Evaluation (e.g. collecting/using data, measuring impact)
- Public Relations (e.g. branding/marketing strategy, social and global media)
In as much as the Kedebah Enterprise Resource Planning platform provides business owners with the means to be operationally effective, the unique offering of the Kedebah ERP is in its business service. Kedebah business services educate business owners on increasing their access to capital (including financial services), improving technical assistance and capacity building, suggesting ways to expose their products to a wider revenue pull (through an E-commerce module) and contributing positively to the business ecosystem. Other ERP software like Odoo and MultiSoft solutions' ERPs have the following modules; e-commerce, HR management, Payroll Management, customer relationship management, accounting, inventory management, Finance Management, billing, warehouse management, project management, manufacturing, financial management and purchasing. With these modules, companies can effectively manage their operations and eventually grow their business. Kedebah ERP equally complements the roles of these solutions with our AI modules, which analyses and makes sense of data that businesses input into this space.
