Cash aid
According to the Ghana Health Service, about 227, 920 of the population is visually impaired as of 2021 and 2.2 billion in the world generally. Upon our research, one of the major problems facing the visually impaired in the financial society is their inability to use the Automated Teller Machine. In order to use the machine assistance of a third eye is needed which is a sighted person but most visually impaired would want to carry out their own banking activities independently
According to World Health Organization, about 5 percent of the world population suffers from hearing impairment Hearing impaired also have difficulty communicating with bank tellers at the bank which makes their transactions in the financial sector very stressful and difficult. If they have to communicate with the bankers, they need the help of a sign interpreter to do the interpretation for them. In a case where there is no sign language interpretor then their needs would not be met due to their inability to express themselves
This depicts how inclusivity does not exist in the financial sector
We designed the CASHAID app that will help the visually impaired have access to the ATM independently using their phones without using the card of which they would locate their nearest ATM with the GPS in the bank. The text-to-speech will enable them to know the actions they are performing while at the ATM stance. Due to the Scannable QR code feature in the App, their banking details are already saved when they scan. The Resay it features in App will enable the hearing impaired to communicate with bankers with ease since it has all the signs and any sign the hearing impaired picks communicates to the bankers what they are trying to say.
The target population is the disabled community specifically the visually and hearing-impaired community. These people are left out of the financial sector in the sense that most visually impaired are not able to easily make transactions at the ATM. There is also a communication barrier between bankers and the hearing impaired. The solution will make the visually impaired make easy transactions at the ATM and break the communication barrier between the hearing impaired and the bankers
The team contains a hearing impaired and a visually impaired person who are having these problems in the financial sector. The team takes surveys from the blind and deaf community with regards to their needs in the financial sector

We want to close the gap that exists between the abled and disabled people to promote inclusivity in the financial sector, we believe Solve is the right place to make this aim and mission of ours come to light.
- Business Model (e.g. product-market fit, strategy & development)
- Financial (e.g. accounting practices, pitching to investors)
- Human Capital (e.g. sourcing talent, board development)
- Public Relations (e.g. branding/marketing strategy, social and global media)
Our solution enables disabled communities able to interact with the ATM using their phones via a mobile application. It also helps hearing-impaired persons to easily communicate with banking agents.
We seek to make banking activities easily accessible for both visual and hearing impairs. We will tend to collaborate with the banking institutions and government to achieve these goals which will be beneficial to society as a whole.
- 5. Gender Equality
- 9. Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure
- 10. Reduced Inequalities
We took a survey to enquire from the affected communities on how our solutions would help them and about 54 out of 60 were zealously advocating for this innovation to be implemented. Some suggested we should be able to withdraw money from the banks wherever they find themselves. Some wished to have a braille feature in it.
As they say, change is a necessity, centuries ago, many things were done manually yet some people were not able to get easier access to such solutions. Then technology came with better packages to solve such problems yet persons living with disability are still lacking behind.
In view of this, we seek to help the disability fraternity to have easier access to ATM machines freely and independently and make easier banking transactions.

The team comprises four individuals two males and two females of which two of the team members are disabled. One male is totally blind and one female is hearing impaired.
Our business model is a freemium and one-to-one business model in the sense that, individuals will obtain some of the features on the app for free for quite some time and would need to subscribe to unlock certain unique features which come at a cost. Besides, with every subscription that would be made, a percentage would be given out to support the disabled community
- Individual consumers or stakeholders (B2C)
We have to bring funds through business angels who are willing to offer help to us when we introduce our missions to them. We tend to go in for grants as another option to make us financially stable. Loans also constitute one of our to become financially stable.
None of our financial plans has been successful so far since we are yet to execute these financial plans. But we believe at two would be successful
