U shape Ur future
We guide students on which job sector will have the high opportunity and what qualifications we need. We prepare students to join an excellent payable job that has good demand in the future.
Introduction
I’m Hariyalni from Sri Lanka, and I am passionate about addressing social problems and finding alternatives to solve them. Throughout this competition, I would like to give a financial pathway for students who completed their Advance level exams, who failed their advanced level exams, and who completed ordinary level in rural areas.
In rural areas, students don’t have enough internet access/smartphones to connect with internet opportunities to shape their future. So, students are going to factories as helpers or joining low-salary jobs. Specifically, the rural community has low information about the opportunities they have. Nearly 10% students have failed in past years.
This is my concept to address mentioned problem.
The project name is You Shape Your Future. The mission of this project is to give financial opportunity, and information for students who completed/failed their advanced level exams, and who completed/failed ordinary level in rural areas. The main reason for these national-level exam failures are lack of teachers and class resources.
This concept is to develop an application and portable booths in schools to access resources required for students’ future. And students can find secured freelance websites/application details, job websites and how to start earning from them. And it will include current job demand sectors with salary scale details and the future of that jobs. So, students can choose their career path after completing their schooling, and they can focus on what qualifications they need for it.
Ex: digital marketing / web developer / account assistant //IT university details which provide free degree and job opportunity in their IT company (Ex: HCL- Techbee and more)
We guide students on which job sector will have the high opportunity and what qualifications we need. We prepare students to join an excellent payable job that has good demand in the future.
In this project,
- I will develop an application that includes open-source links for the qualifications, students need to apply for a particular job.
- We will give a computer booth for each school in a rural area with solar-powered features. This booth will have three laptops or three computers which have solar panels on the booth rooftop (to power the laptop/computer and WIFI router)
If students can’t understand the open source due to language issues (most of the open sources will be in English, and average rural community students fail English subjects at ordinary and advanced levels). Here, we will design a customized open source in their mother language, and same time we will provide and introductory - professional English course as well)
To understand the subject well, we will use animation-included learning methods so students can keep focus and learn efficiently.
Students who have smartmobiles, can download this application and improve themselves.
Students who don’t have smart phone or internet access can go to their schools and use that open booth to access information and resources to apply for jobs and choose their path.
This application will be self-learnable, and students can send messages when they have doubts or need support in understanding subjects. And we will train teachers/volunteers to address students' issues.
