Road safety AI an advance technological device used to reduce the risk of road traffic accidents and quickly alert rescue and safety units in case of motor accidents in order to safe lives.
Globally today, especially in Africa and precisely in Cameroon, according to statistics more than 40% of people who died in the pass three years was primarily due to road traffic accidents. After asking questions from the emergency services, the answers that we got were “information about most accidents that occurred in remote places reaches us a little bit late when some of the victims that could survive have already died, some people drive when tired or drunk”. To solve this problem, we decided to create a feature on our device that, automatically detects when an accident has occurred using a combination of sensors and then check with the driver to find out if everything is fine, if the driver doesn’t confirm okay, our system within the vehicle automatically uses Google maps to locate all nearby hospitals and police unit then sends them and alert message that contains the location of the place where the accident occurred so that they can intervene. This is mostly because when accidents occur, it takes a long time for the information about the accident to get to the emergency services, because of this lives that could be saved in time as to commence treatment and reduce risk of dead were lost. Also because some people drink get drunk and drive and others sleep off while driving for these reasons, Through the road safety AI system there will be a prompt arrival of the rescue unit at accident screens to provide first aid, rescue the lives of accident victims and ameliorate the repercussions of the accident. This system also prevent road traffic accidents that results from a sleepy driver by producing and alarm of by passing high way roles by producing an alarm there by limiting the risk and chances of road traffic accidents.
Road safety AI is a technological device designed to to reduce the risk of road traffic accidents through a device designed in the form of a sunshade which dictates sleepy moods while driving and produces an alarm which awakes the driver and the road safety units to tract down the vehicle and prevent the risk of an accident. This system also ameliorate the repercussions of occured accident by alerting the road safety and rescue agents to reach the accident screens promptly and rescue the lives of the victims. This device uses smart sensors and GPRS to generate information on the accident scene location. Some accidents occur due irresponsibility of road users, for example people who drink get drunk and drive. Our system on this part focuses most restricting people drinking and driving. So, how does it work? Before being able to start the vehicle, the driver goes through an alcohol sensing test. This test is a process whereby the drivers breathe with his mouth on the alcohol sensor, if alcohol is not detected, the vehicle can start. If alcohol is detected, the driver goes through a sobriety test since one can drink a cup of beer without getting drunk. This sobriety test is a process whereby the driver is asked to perform a series of actions in the vehicle, if the series of actions are done correctly, the vehicle can start without a problem but if not, the vehicle automatically disables itself and then sends an SMS message containing the drivers Google map location to a relative asking to for help but if help doesn’t come within one hour, the vehicle restarts the test and if this time the driver succeeds, the vehicle start without a problem. For now, our system focuses more on these two main aspects but we intent to add the mechanical analysis test (the brakes checks, the vehicle signaling lamb checks).
Road safety AI is a device designed to serve car user particularly and to some extent trains. This device help to reduce their risk of accident and preserve their lives. This device will also be used by road safety agents and safety units to get information on road traffic accidents quickly access accident locations and safe the lives of victims. This device will safe lives, reduce road traffic accidents and of course boost the use of technology
We have a technical team made of five (5) key individuals who spear headed the conceptualization, realization, testing and market research of the prototype of this road safety AI device. Each member of our team in an expert in the office position they hold and we collaboratively work to realize of goal and objects at each stage. We also work individually in improving our skills and technicalities to as to best add values to our startup. We are all motivated towards having our device accepted and being used globally to improve lives and ameliorate the risk of losing lives through road traffic accidents. •Shiyntum Nancy Kidzeru (project manager) Kidzeru has worked with the Bamenda film school as a project manager and have served as a volunteer in BERUDA. She is skillful in management and a tech enthusiast.
•Douanla Douentio Hermann (Head of engineering) Hermann is an electrical and electronic engineer with 2+ years of experience in the field. He has been involved in several different projects over the past years such as BleagLea; a drone specialized in identifying high concentration of plastic waste in rivers and alerting the waste management industries for it to be discarded
•Viban Promise (research and design officer)Viban has served as a Research and product designer at Road Safety Intelligence. He's a certified designer with MAYA. Through Draufsicht Bamenda, he serve as a researcher, consolidating his effort to foster and promote community development.
•Engr. Taah Brandon (CTO) Taah has serve as a Chief Technology Officer at Road Safety Intelligence. He is a tech-head and a mechanical engineer with 3+ years of experience. He's served as a chief of service engineer for 3 years at COMETAL.
•Rinwi Bonjoh (founder and marketer) Rinwi is a critical thinker, and founder of kangaroo travel aid and hospitality mobile application, he is an experience marketer with Amazon, legendary marketer and clickbank with 4+ years of experience.
When the first version of the road safety AI device was designed, it was freely tested in three bus stations to rest for the effectiveness of the device and the test sensors. This device was also tested in 5 different city taxis drivers to test the different features of this device.
30% of these drivers says they use the toll free number for the rescue service and they use it in case of an accident and sometimes they arrive the screen multiple of minutes later when most of the cases has worsen.
60% of these drivers said they use basically nothing as a safety major nor has any links with any safely units. So to them in case of any accident scene they will only look for a way to locate any health care provider closest while seeking for better attention thereby worsening the victims condition.
The rest 10% say they are willing to have improved systems that can best help during accident scene and even reduce the chances of road traffic accidents as they recount how some of them slightly survive previous accidents they were involved in.
Currently in my country there exists little or no services to provide immediate assistance or safe lives during road traffic accidents which account for over 40% of dead according to statistics.

We have no partnership with any organization but we've been under the mentorship of Draufsicht Bamenda for a year now.
We actually have the Cameroon population as our first target customers where we will validate the effectiveness of this device before engaging in international and global market. We have drivers and car owners as our first line customers while we will have ambulance services and road safety agents as cooperate customers.
Coming from Cameroon and precisely from Bamenda, a town greatly affected by the war of liberation where the anglophone have risen to restore the former British colony called Ambazonia, this have greatly affected this part of the country and the nation as a whole. This has equally limited financial circulation and even academics. We have tried seeking government funding in order to engage into full production of the road safety AI buy we could not be granted the funding. We are all young and not employed yet and we now depend fully on international funding and grant opportunities.
