Together app raises awareness, encourages sustainable habits, and connects people through a community feature, pollution reporting, and a planting guide with AI suggestions, and rewards to keep users engaged.

Even now when the world is talking about climate change, many public awareness campaigns, many advertisements on social media and TVs about the risks of it and the need for positive change, still, many People know very little about the severity of the situation, and others do know the risks but simply continue doing nothing to help reduce climate change, for different reasons; they feel like their solo actions won’t make any change, or that it’s not their responsibility to do anything at all. So, it’s clear that the current methods of awareness aren’t working, at least not delivering fast enough results.

People enjoy sharing stories, achievements like the ones we see on social media, sharing snaps, Instagram stories, hashtags and following trends, that what actually motivate people to take part and do things, so why not make use of that to engage people in the issue of climate change?

With something like climate change, it is easy to feel like everything is hopeless, that there is nothing one person can do. People think that when they use public transportation instead of their own cars it won’t make a change, that unplugging the turned off TV isn’t enough, that planting is not worth it etc. But that is absolutely untrue. Other people feel like the solutions to climate change are too difficult for the ordinary person. That is likewise untrue because various solutions exist, but some of them are not as obvious as others. But what if can get many people to start doing some simple acts contributing in a meaningful way in reducing climate change and started sharing their stories with others so that people will no longer feel like they’re alone? That will have much better chances of succeeding compared to the ordinary compliances and awareness campaigns.

Together app is aiming for, the app will focus on 2 main aspects: 

raising awareness and habit building, with the main theme of going greener, by providing the following main features:

• Community/wiki, where people caring about climate change share stories, tips and raise awareness through posts and discussions (like Quora and reddit), it will be organized to different categories (such as articles, recycling tips, positive stories, facts, creating events to help raise awareness and do positive acts like cleaning shores from plastic etc.)
• Pollution reporting feature, it is healthy and constructive to say “no!” to destructive practices. Feelings of moral responsibility, that’s why we want to enable people to do so by enabling them to report polluting actions we see daily around us like “burning rice etc.) simply using the mobile phone GPS and camera to take a pic of some polluting activity to inform specialized authorities about it. 
• Planting guide, Plants play an important role in reducing climate change, that’s why we need more people to know that and start planting, (using an AI system to suggest best fit plants to the user depending on location, weather, and lighting conditions + a step-by-step guide on when to water the plant and monitor its growth, identifying possible illness using image analysis, and encouraging the user to care for their plants by giving points and rewards).
The app will use gamification and motivation to keep people engaged (goal setting, points, and leader board+ sharing progress and competing with the community to encourage people to continue making good change) Every activity the user takes towards reducing climate change would gain him points that could be replaced by some award from sponsors, or access to special features in the app.

My solution is an app that serves individuals and communities who are concerned about climate change and want to take action to reduce their impact on the environment. The app aims to raise awareness and understanding of how simple human actions can have a significant impact on the climate system and encourages sustainable habits through a community/wiki feature, pollution reporting, and a planting guide with AI suggestions, gamification, and rewards.

The app serves as a tool to empower individuals and communities to take action on climate change and to increase resilience against its impacts. By providing information, tools and a community for support, the app can help individuals to make meaningful changes in their daily lives, keep them engaged and motivated, and contribute to a global effort to combat climate change.

As a computer science student, I have the skills and knowledge to develop a mobile application that addresses environmental issues. I have the ability to design and implement the technical aspects of the app such as the community/wiki feature, pollution reporting, and planting guide with AI suggestions. I also have the ability to use the latest technologies such as AI and gamification to create an engaging and interactive experience for users. Additionally, as someone who cares about the environment, I have a strong understanding of the problem that the app aims to solve and the potential impact it can have. This combination of technical skills and passion for the environment puts me in a strong position to deliver the solution you have described.
