Bay-Fit is an immersive experience that lets people have a better life. Via Bay-Fit users can track their health and battle obesity.

What specific problem are you trying to solve?

Obesity is a major problem that affects 650 million people around the world(According to the WHO). Unhealthy food choices and lack of physical activity are two of the main contributing factors to obesity. Unhealthy food choices include processed foods that are high in fat, sugar, and calories, as well as foods that are high in sodium. These types of foods are often consumed in large quantities, leading to an excessive intake of calories. Lack of physical activity is another major factor in obesity. Inactive people tend to have a higher body mass index (BMI) than those who are active. This is because physical activity helps to burn calories and can help to reduce body fat.

The consequences of obesity can be severe. People who are obese are at an increased risk for a variety of health problems, including heart disease, stroke, type 2 diabetes, and certain types of cancer. Obese individuals are also more likely to suffer from depression, low self-esteem, and social isolation. In addition, obesity can lead to an increased risk of premature death.

What is your solution?

BayFit is an immersive experience that has been built into an application that you can use on the go, via BayFit users can train their real-life bodies and share them with their friends and relatives. Before users register into the BayFit they must submit their height, weight, and body types, and accordingly, an avatar will be generated for their accounts. Users will document their exercise, body weight, and more relative information to the application so they can track their progress and every week their avatars will update on the app accordingly. Users will also use their avatars in an interactive parkour game they can play with their friends added on the BayFit app. The BayFit app also includes special abilities which the users can unlock by doing different exercises that can be used in the game. Each time when the users play the parkour game they will earn in-game currency which they will be able to use to buy their characters lots of different customization items including clothing, app backgrounds, and accessories ranging from glasses to shoes. The app also houses a leaderboard in which users can pick out friends and other users to compete. Alongside this, the BayFit app will ask users to post photos from their daily workouts to share with others, via this sharing process users can learn more about their techniques and improve the way they train their bodies. Due to this application being a form of social media users can also follow their favorite fitness content creators through the BayFit app. BayFit aims for the people using their application to stay healthy and have an enjoyable experience along the way.

Who does your solution serve? In what ways will the solution impact their lives?

As BayFit Technologies we are working to improve the lives of individuals from 14 and above all age groups. Due to not having any motivation to meet their health standards, we are working to address their problems by giving them a new innovative media option to vlog their fitness healthier lifestyle.

How are you and your team well-positioned to deliver this solution?

Our team leader is an MIT FabLabs certified developer in most technological fields including VR/AR Metaverse, and AI. He is also a certified developer by one of the top universities in Türkiye ( Hacettepe University ). His 3D Designs made to help disabled people have seen recognition from the top university in Türkiye ( METU ) and his designs have also been awarded by the top university in Türkiye ( METU ). He has also been recognized for his performance in METU's TechnoNature program.

Our team members are well-rounded individuals with all of them having awards from known technology competitions and they are needed in the progression of our solution.

What steps have you taken to understand the needs of the population you want to serve?

We, first of all, started our research of what our population needs from our local community, inviting them to hear and ask them what makes them motivated to stay healthy if they are motivated to stay healthy. From the feedback from our presentations we did to our local community, we came to the conclusion that most of them weren't having fun while exercising so we showed them the first prototype of our solution. We added new features and removed existing ones to find the perfect combination to serve their needs.
