Project Utopia
Empowering video games for people with neurological disorders which make it difficult for them to differentiate between different colors.
I started this project with the aim of making the lives of special kids truly special. The inability to differentiate between colors is one of the presenting issues that people and especially kids with neurological illnesses often suffer.
This issue first came to my attention last year while I was volunteering at a nearby private school that provided assistance and education to kids with neurological issues after the normal school hours. As I dug deeper and did more study, I learned that conditions like Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) limit people's capacity for learning and memory. People who have dyslexia have trouble reading and comprehending written language, whereas people who have dyscalculia often struggle with math. I wanted to be able to assist them, so I researched methods for doing so. During my research, stumbled upon the University of Washington website, where I learned more about the neuroscience of learning for children and strategies for assisting them in remembering what they have learned for a longer period of time. This website [faculty.washington.edu/chudler/chgames.html] helped me a lot to assist the children but it never showed the way how we can implement these techniques in real life.
People with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and autism spectrum disorder (ASD) may have trouble focusing on specific colors or telling apart similar hues. They may find it challenging to execute activities that call for the use of color difference as a result. Individuals who have dyslexia may experience difficulties processing visual information, including color, making it challenging for them to distinguish between hues. Dyscalculia is another such condition. People who have this condition may struggle with math, which might include having issues color-coding or matching colors.
These issues may make it challenging to read, write, or carry out daily chores that need the ability to distinguish between colors. Additionally, it can restrict their capacity for learning and memorization, which might have a big influence on their schooling and general growth. In educational settings, students with neurological disorders may have difficulty distinguishing between different colored pencils, markers, or crayons, which can make it difficult for them to complete coloring or drawing assignments. They may also have difficulty with tasks that involve color-coding, such as matching words to their corresponding definitions or identifying different parts of a diagram. This is one of the problem that no one talks about but everyone needs to. It is important to understand that color differentiation is not just a minor inconvenience, but it can have a significant impact on the daily lives of people with neurological disorders.
I made a simple game using the Unity game engine which helps the people with neurological disorders to differentiate between colors. Though simple, It has many scientific concepts linked to it. Using game engines like Unity to create interactive and engaging experiences can be an effective way to help people with neurological disorders learn and improve their abilities. It's important to keep in mind that different neurological disorders can affect people in different ways, so it may be beneficial to work with a therapist or other medical professional to ensure that the game is tailored to the specific needs of the individuals you are trying to help.
A complicated process that includes the interplay of the eyes, brain, and visual system is color distinction and recognition. Cones and rods are two types of specialized cells that take in light as it enters the eye. Light is transformed into electrical impulses by these cells, which are then sent to the brain for processing. Following the interpretation of these impulses by the brain, a visual representation of the color is produced. The ability to recognize colors depends on the eyes' cones and rods working properly, as well as the neurological connections that link the eyes and brain.
Video games offer a regulated and interactive environment that may excite the visual system, which can aid with color discrimination and identification. In addition, playing video games may be an enjoyable and inspiring experience that can aid with concentration and focus. For those with neurological impairments who can struggle with attention and focus, this might be helpful. Video games can help with color distinction and recognition since they offer a regulated environment that can excite the visual system and enhance concentration and attention.
The user may learn to distinguish between colors in various lighting circumstances by using the game's ability to show various colors in certain ways, for as by modifying brightness, contrast, or saturation. The game offers players a fun and interactive approach to practice color identification, which can enhance their general color awareness and perception. The Unity game engine also makes the game easily accessible and playable on a range of platforms, making it a practical and adaptable option for those with neurological problems.
Additionally, the game can offer a compelling and interesting experience, which can support the improvement of concentration and attention. For those with neurological impairments who can struggle with attention and focus, this might be helpful. The game may also be modified to fit the demands of the player, for example, by offering several degrees of difficulty or changing the color scheme to match the user's particular condition.
Additionally, this gaming therapy can enhance learning and memory by offering a fun and interactive alternative to practice and reinforce color discrimination. Children with neurological impairments may benefit most from this since it makes learning and comprehending new ideas easier for them. Overall, this has the potential to help persons with neurological problems distinguish and recognize colors better.
I have a thorough knowledge of the Unity game engine's features and the programming languages needed to make a game, in addition to the game development process. I have knowledge of the various facets of game production, including game design, level design, and user interface. I have experience making games.
In-depth study I've also done on the relationship between color perception and neurological illnesses has given me the knowledge I need to comprehend the unique requirements and difficulties experienced by those with neurological disorders. With the use of this information, I was able to develop a game that is successful in assisting players in sharpening their sense of color and is specifically catered to their needs.
As well as testing the game on individuals with neurological diseases to make sure it is helpful in aiding color perception, I also spoke with specialists in the fields of neurology and color perception to guarantee that the circumstances of these disorders are appropriately simulated in the game. In addition, I'm dedicated to maintaining the game's accuracy and efficacy in aiding those with neurological problems to distinguish between colors by regularly updating and refining it in response to user comments and fresh research.
I am confident in my abilities to use the Unity game engine and my experience in game creation to create a game that effectively aids those with neurological problems in improving their color perception.

- Improving learning opportunities and outcomes for learners across their lifetimes, from early childhood on (Learning)
- Pilot: An organization deploying a tested product, service, or business model in at least one community
It is unique and innovative to use a game to teach color discrimination to persons with neurological impairments since it gives them an enjoyable and participatory approach to practice. Because it may keep people's interest and motivation for a longer period of time than conventional therapeutic techniques like flashcards or worksheets, this may be more successful. Presenting exercises and difficulties in a game style enables greater variety, which can enhance the therapy. Additionally, using a game format allows for more variability in the types of exercises and challenges that can be presented, which can make the therapy more dynamic and effective.

My game uses various technologies such as Unity or Unreal Engine for game development, or utilizing specific software or programming languages for color differentiation and accessibility features for individuals with neurological disorders and color recognition algorithms.
These engines give developers a potent set of tools for making interactive games that keep players interested. For color distinction, accessibility features for people with neurological problems, and precise and efficient training, it also makes use of certain software or programming languages. The game's items' colors are found and examined using color recognition algorithms. This enables the game to modify the level of difficulty and provide players precise feedback. The accessibility features make sure that the game is simple to use, comprehend, and navigate for those with neurological conditions.

Due to its lack of popularity, there isn't much user acquisition (about 500 users), but I have plans to publicize it and make it popular in the upcoming year so that more and more people may use it.
With the mentioned initiatives like press release, partnership and collaboration, we hope to both increase the popularity of our game and positively impact the lives of those who need it most. By the end of the year, we want to have at least 10,000 users, and we want to keep expanding our user base beyond that.
Since this is a nonprofit, I truly need money to spread the word about the games I create to assist others. My issues would vanish if I could find an advertiser or a venue where I could show off my ability or if I get monetary help from an organization which is willing to help me out. Without the necessary funds to market our games and reach the right audiences, we are unable to fully realize our potential.
I am fortunate to work with Ritu Associates. They gave me access to a very useful page, which allowed me to publish my game on the Play Store. I owe them a debt of gratitude for their kind assistance, and I will make every effort to assist them going forward. Their devotion and commitment have been crucial to the development of my business, and I am confident that by working together, we will scale even higher heights. I anticipate building on our collaboration for many years to come.
Our partner, Ritu Associates, which is a non-profit organization utilizes the money from in-game adverts to help the education of children from economically disadvantaged backgrounds.
The revenue earned by these advertisements will be immediately sent into my business partner Ritu Associates' AdSense account. Through this program, we seek to improve the lives of disadvantaged children who most need it. They will benefit greatly from this project in terms of getting access to a good education and a brighter future. Additionally, it will raise public awareness of the value of education in our society. We are honored to work with Ritu Associates to support these kids in realizing their aspirations. With our joint efforts, we seek to improve our society and make a difference in the lives of disadvantaged kids.
Since this is a nonprofit organization, I want to work with regional NGOs to get the intended result. They will be willing to join us in making a difference in the community, and I am convinced of that. Since this initiative is motivated by the desire to do good and change the world, financial assistance is not required.
I'm hoping that we can work together, with the aid of these NGOs, to achieve a shared objective that will benefit everyone engaged in the long run. By banding together, we can forge a unified front that supports just causes and promotes change on all fronts. This nonprofit is committed to improving the world, and I have faith that we can do it with the support of these NGOs.
I've already worked with non-profit organizations that support persons with neurological disorders, such as "Lafiducie Volunteer Group" and "Parvarish School." I'm going to approach more such groups because it was such a wonderful and enlightening experience.
