informaion which is accessible to all the stakeholders concerned must be readily available.

What is the problem you are solving?

We solve the problem of:
- Healthcare data accessibility and security.
- Lack of interoperability of healthcare data.
- Loss or misplacement of patient’s medical history due to the use of manual (paper-based)
health record.
- Medication errors.
- Therapeutic failure of medications due to non-compliance of the patient to the drug dosage
regimen.
- Security of patients’ data and related privacy issues.

What is your solution?

VIOSTEC healthcare solution is a software specifically designed to help manage database of
patients records and enable the care givers to easily connect with the patients through the
patients healthcare information. It makes data collection, storage, analysis, and use in
healthcare settings easier and more efficient.
The integration of Drug Information System would be used in checking instant drug interactions,
allergies and other relevant information to ensure optimal health outcome. Hence, medication
errors are minimized if not completely eradicated.
One of the major challenges of patient data management is Data Security ( i.e. privacy and
accessibility issues). To solve this problem, we are integrating blockchain technology and Smart
Contracts.
A solution based on blockchain can enable large-scale accessibility, keeping data privacy,
reducing curating and mediating costs, as well as providing trust in information systems.
We are currently three in my team (Myself, Patrick Oliorah and Lambert Nnadi).
VIOSTEC Healthcare solution will revolutionize the healthcare delivery processes in Nigeria,
Africa and beyond.

A major challenge to other existing EHR softwares in Nigeria is the
issue of multiplicity of software used by various organizations making
it impossible at present for the country to have a
comprehensible patients data across the country and there is no
database where patients information can be easily accessed by all.
VIOS EHR is unique because we have a decentralised database for the Nigerian
healthcare system making it possible for all the patients data to be
securely stored and accessed by authorized persons in any part of the
world anytime. With the incorporation of cutting-edge
technologies such as Blockchain technology and Smart Contracts to secure our
data; accessibility, privacy and interoperability issues will be reduced to
the barest minimum (if not completely eradicated).

Medical professionals make errors in in diagnosis and patient management mainly due to lack of easy access to medical records. We believe that by making it these records digital we can make it accessible to all the key stakeholders.

Within our first year of operation we have covered more than five thousand patients health records, reducing the cost of managing their files and more importantly improving health outcomes for the patients by helping Doctors make the evidence based decisions.

What are your goals within the next year and within the next five years?

We hope to be at the forefront in helping healthcare institutions with seamless access to patient data. We are partnering with Universities and Tertiary healthcare institutions which is a major source of these problems since in Nigeria there are Federal Healthcare institutions in every Federal University.

What are the barriers that currently exist for you to accomplish your goals for the next year and for the next five years?

We hoping that the Merck company can provide with leverage on branding and leading experts in Healthcare which can help accelerate our growth
