Skin Moles Detection
an app That detects skin moles by using the AI, specifies skin cancer probability and gives the user the amount of Artemisia she should drink to stop cancer.
Skin Cancer and its expensive treatments are the problems we are trying to solve with our project.
Cancer is a disease in which cells in the body grow out of control. When cancer starts in the skin, it is called skin cancer.
The incidence of both non-melanoma and melanoma skin cancers has been increasing over the past decades. Currently, between 2 and 3 million non-melanoma skin cancers and 132,000, melanoma skin cancers occur globally each year. In Tunisia, skin cancer has affected many people too. Skin cancer is ranked 26 out of the other cancers in Tunisia.
Statistics prove that skin cancer is a monster threatening people's life in Tunisia and The world.
Numerous factors lead to skin cancer or its development in my country.
First, The most preventable cause of skin cancer is overexposure to ultraviolet (UV) light, either from the sun or from artificial sources like tanning beds.
Second, Most skin cancers start with small skin changes, bumps, discoloration, or sores that get bigger over time. However, many Tunisians don't notice these moles or wait to get skin and mole checks which put their life at risk since skin cancer can develop and progress.
Third, it requires a high cost to detect and treat skin cancer. Tunisian have to attend private hospitals for skin cancer treatments and detection since our public hospitals lack advanced medical equipment. The majority of Tunisians can't cover skin cancer fees because of the economic crisis. My country's situation doesn't allow citizens
Untreated or unnoticed skin cancer has horrible consequences in Tunisia and the world.
As a start, Skin cancer can cause death since more than 5,400 people worldwide die of nonmelanoma skin cancer every month.
Secondly, Skin cancer has increased because of high-cost treatments and detection in Tunisia and the world and the lack of awareness. In the past decade (2012 – 2022), the number of new invasive melanoma cases diagnosed annually increased by 31 percent.2
Our solution is an app That detects skin moles by using the AI, specifies skin cancer probability, and gives the user the amount of Artemisia he should drink to stop cancer.
In the first step, the user has to open the skin mole detection app.
the app will ask him to scan the skin using the camera. Also, the user can upload a high-quality image of a specific mole.
Then, the app calculates the probability that a mole can be malignant.
( the data to use is a set of images from the International Skin Imaging Collaboration: Melanoma Project ISIC https://isic-archive.com.) . The analysis result is a sentence: low risk or high risk.
In the second step, the app specifies the amount of Artemisia he should drink to stop cancer(if the results prove a high risk of skin cancer ).
Artemisia is a species of Artemisia, native to temperate regions of Eurasia, and North Africa and widely naturalized in USA and Canada. It is known as the miracle plant since it cures numerous diseases. University of Washington researchers proved that Artemisia is able to stop skin cancer.
it also provides a specific schedule with specific dates.
Moreover, the app provides advice about the right way to prepare the Artemisia drink ( From our research, we concluded that there are some specific tips the user should follow to prepare the Artemisia drink )
Our project will serve people who have skin cancer.
Innovation is the ability to see change as an opportunity, not a threat. Therefore, we want to make a change in our community, and help people overcome the obstacles they face to save their lives from cancer and fear. we want people to realize that a life touched by cancer is not a life destroyed by cancer. There is hope and a solution despite difficulties and financial situations.
Our app will help to detect skin cancer moles for free. People won't wait to take a skin check (since people have to wait for months to check their skin at a public hospital for instance in Tunisia )or spend money on doing it at private hospitals. After using our app people will be pushed to visit doctors which can save their lives.
In fact, plants are used in curing many diseases. Artemisia is proven to stop cancer . This plant is cheap to buy. Its price is acceptable for people who have financial problems and can't afford skin cancer treatment.
our app is easy to use. Moreover, no internet is needed to use the skin mole detection app.
Skin mole detection app will save people's lives despite their financial problems( they can't afford skin cancer treatments fee) and the lack of equipment in public hospitals that can put their lack at risk.
As we know, skin cancer is better detected early.
Our team members are Lina Mrayeh and Yassine Ben Latifa.
I am Lina Mrayeh. I am 17 years old. I am from Tunisia, a small African country but huge in beauty.
I love robotics, coding, and inventing new things. I am a member and a coach at the ATAST club, Tunisian Association For Future Of Science and Technology.
I can code using python and c++. I can build robots too.
Coaching kids is the best thing about being part of ATAST since I think that kids should learn how to create new things to make the world a better place to live in.
I participated in I FEST which is an international science and technology competition. It was an incredible experience. I got to know people from over 40 countries and enlarge my knowledge about innovation. It was amazing to meet people who have the same passion as me.
I realized it is possible to invent what seems impossible at first by being hard-working and passionate.
I was super surprised by the participants' creativities. For instance, an IFEST participant made mirrors from wood.
My project for that competition was a machine that help the user to choose the right place for a plant. I gladly won a silver.
Being an ATAST member taught me problems solving and how to use technology and creativity to invent what benefits humanity.
I am the vice president of Leo club Sousse Pearl. This club Position developed my leadership skills and taught me the power of hard work and courage. Being part of Leo club Sousse, pushed me to socialize and dropped my attention on my community's biggest problems. We organized a campaign to raise awareness about breast cancer. Also, we visited children who are affected by cancer. Leo's campaigns made me meet people who suffer from this disease and understand the difficulties they are facing to stop cancer.
In my view, Atast and Leo are somehow connected. Leo club Sousse pearl drop my attention on global issues and robotics provides a way to invent the solution.
Yasin Ben Ltaifa is my friend and member of ATAST too .
I saw many examples of his talent and was greatly impressed by his industriousness, meticulousness and work ethic. I must also record yassine’s exceptional academic performance as well as his wonderful character. As a matter of fact, few are the students who care as much about their work as yassine does and who translate that caring into action and understanding. Not only is he an efficient member at the The Tunisian Association for Future Technological Sciences was established under the slogan “ Think again, Be different “. In addition, he is no stranger to the realm of arts as he has been playing the guitar for 2 years.
We did a lot of volunteering since we are part of Leo Club Sousse Pearl which connected us with people facing skin cancer. Interacting with them, made the idea of the project easier because they explained the problems they face such as financial problems and the lack of equipment at public hospitals. Being members of ATAST, we have coaches and brilliant helpers who guide us through our work. Mr. Hatem Slimane, the founder of ATAST has already had enough experience and meetings with doctors. He helps us a lot with research.

In my view," Skin Mole Detection" is innovative since its code and research came from hard work and a lot of determination. I think a project is innovative if it fills gaps and outweighs people's suffering.
Skin mole Detection " will definitely help detect skin cancer, raise awareness and save people's lives with a click on the app.
There are limited apps, easy to use that can help detect skin cancer. Coming up with the " Skin Mole Detection app" will make it easier for many people and will drop their attention on their skin Changement.
Not having money for skin treatment, " skin mole detection " will let users step out of the difficulties box by using mother nature magic to heal diseases and spread peace. We believe that peace is found in every peace of nature. It provides tips about Artemisia, a plant proven to stop cancer.
Combining technology, medicine, and plants (bio) to solve Skin cancer is definitely creative.
This project will have a positive impact since it will lead to peace. It also combines many fields.
We have already climbed many steps in working on our project by finishing the code and doing a lot of research.
Next year, we are willing to lunch our app so it can be used by people. Words can't voice how much power I feel remembering that goal and the lives we can save.
Next year we intend to start Artemisia's ointment. After doing a survey, we realized that it is easier than preparing an Artemisia drink. Artemisia drink can be prepared the wrong way. Also, it is time-consuming. Using ointment, putten directly on the skin can be better.( we are going to do more research)
Our project uses AI to scan skin.
It uses Internet of things ,5 G Technology (to speed the process).

Based on a survey, our app will be used by 3000 users at the start. The app can be used by anyone who would like to detect skin cancer and make sure his skin is ok.
It will raise awareness and decrease cancer treatment ( by using Artemisia ).
Financial problems can stop us from making our project come true. Realizing we won't have the money, we never stopped because we believe in what is said: " Never let your financial problems stop you from making your dream come true ".
It requires money to do more research about Artemisia and to prepare an easy app that can be used anytime by anyone.
It also takes money to start Artemisia's ointment.
being surrounding by people who believe in our project will help a lot and make it better. I think getting help from scientists, doctors and engineers can make magic.
That's why we decided to apply to " SOLVE MIT " the space where we can share our passion and may submit a project that changes humanity.
We are currently not working with any organisation . We are part of ATAST , the Tunisian Association For Future Of Science and Technology . It helps us with coding and doing reseach .
To engage in the application, the user must pay a specific appropriate amount of money. For the service, the price will be symbolic, because we believe that people have the right to health, as well as to raise awareness. To prepare Artemisia, our team will charge for the delivery of Artemisia can. We will supply Artemisia first since it is not grown in Tunisia. We will import a small amount at the beginning, then when the business flourishes, we will import larger quantities. To start Artemisia ointment, we will deal with one of the companies capable of producing, it to ensure safety conditions. We will sell it online and deliver it to the buyer. Advertising is also important to the marketing process. I have previously dealt with the largest radios. This will enable us to publicize our work.
Getting advice will help us improve our business and know more about how to lunch our project in the best financial situation.
Since it is our first experience we would like to get advice and meet people at SOLVE MIT that had the experience.
