The specific problem that I am trying to solve with my idea is the waste and deforestation caused by the constant printing of new textbooks for students. According to UNESCO, the publishing industry is responsible for approximately 4% of global paper consumption, which leads to the cutting of around 15 billion trees per year. This problem is significant globally, with millions of students affected by it. Factors contributing to this problem include the lack of a sustainable solution for providing students with the necessary textbooks, and the pressure to keep up with the latest editions and versions of books. Additionally, this problem is prevalent in developing countries where students often lack access to affordable educational materials. The consequences of this problem include environmental degradation, loss of biodiversity, and a financial burden on students and families who have to purchase new books every academic year. My idea, a book rental program, aims to address this problem by reducing the need for new book printing, promoting sustainable education, and providing affordable education to students globally.

What Positive change my Suggestion will bring

Rent textbooks from schools, submit them at the end of the year, incentivize students, reduce waste, and promote sustainable education.

My Solution

According to me, a rule should be implemented where schools will provide books to the students for rent for one academic year, and once it's finished students will return books to the school in a good condition. And in return, extra points will be given to the students. 

What Positive change my Suggestion will bring

 This way we are saving not only paper but also 1000s of trees every day. This is an eco-friendly idea I think it would be a great way to reuse and recycle books and also help needy children. This is a way, we can fight against Climate Change via schools and students.

This is an eco-friendly idea, this way gazillions of books will be reused moreover we would be able to help students via NGOs. if the syllabus changes or some changes need to take place in the context of the books then, we don't need to print all the pages. Simple these changes could be printed in separate sheets and thin books we knew context can be created and later can be given to the students.

I have used my skills of Python and Data Science to analyze and understand the issue of book waste and deforestation in-depth, providing a data-driven approach to the problem.
