AI that helps the independence and autonomy of people with visual disabilities
I try to solve the problems that people with visual disabilities have, with this project I seek their independence and autonomy.
Currently the number of people with some visual impairment (such as cataracts, refractive errors, diabetic retinopathy, childhood blindness, glaucoma, onchocerciasis and trachoma) are more than 2/3 of the population, many of these people have never seen or can see the colors and shapes of the world, depends on at least one family member or trusted person who helps them in almost everything, but…. What about those who have no one who can help?
It is an AI that through the rear camera of the user's cell phone can recognize what is in front of him, with a voice command the user asks for what he needs and with a talkback it will be provided
Example: The user wants to know who is in front of him, he says:
Occhio, who is in front of me?
The AI will describe that person to you and you will have the option to add them to as an acquaintance. It is an autonomous learning, where the AI will recognize information and save it to use it later
Of the entire population that has a visual disability, less than 45% have someone to help them carry out their activities, many times it depends on the compassion of a neighbor who helps them for a day or two, but they cannot dedicate much time to them, With the implementation of this project, users will be able to do many things without help, an example of which would be to be able to cross the street without waiting for someone to help them, to be able to search for things inside their home, it will reduce the number of accidents in the streets, it could even to help you avoid colliding with other passers-by when walking
I live in a community where there are people who are blind or have very low vision, I have noticed how only a few have someone to help them but outside of them the rest have to fend for themselves, it is difficult to see how they always have difficulty crossing a street or identifying tosomeone.
After carrying out the investigation, you can see the reality of people with visual disabilities, and it is something that I would love to solve if I have the opportunity.
I have spoken with some people in my community who have this disability and I have lived with them to see their development in daily life

It works with artificial intelligence (which is not available in many countries) and it is also something that apart from benefiting people with disabilities, will also help their relatives, since they will not have to put their lives in the background to be with that relative disabled.
The development of the App will begin, it will be approved and distributed on all available platforms, so that everyone has the opportunity to use it.

What limits me is the economic part, if I had enough resources I could hire programmers to carry out the technological part of the App (since I have no programming knowledge)
