This method aims to reduce the carbon footprint caused by plastic use by recycling discarded plastic into construction materials for affordable homes.

What specific problem are you trying to solve?

The backbone industry in my country(Uganda) that generates income is agriculture, which allows the residents of my village to live comfortably. yet, the water sources in my community's lands have become clogged with plastic garbage. Since there has been a shift in the climate, the excessive accumulation of plastic debris in our land fills and water sources has significantly hampered the development of local agriculture and resulted in a rise in the number of people dying from hunger and poverty. Our team searched for a solution to this issue of removing plastic garbage since the seasons changing, where we expect to sow crops, rarely come in the proper time as anticipated, greatly affecting us as a person.We made the decision to devise a method of recycling plastic into building materials in order to invent a new way of life and advance agriculture, which raises food production productivity and raises people's standard of living.

What is your solution?

Our solution is to recycle plastic waste into building materials. Simply put, we want to gather this plastic from local landfills and water sources, wash it, shred it, and burn it without contaminating the environment or harming our community's residents. For the purpose of producing the finished goods, this procedure requires sophisticated machine operators. As we intende to invent our machine that we help us in production and save or reduce on the machinery cost.

Who does your solution serve? In what ways will the solution impact their lives?

Different people in our community will be impacted by this solution. People in my community will diversify their income sources as we work to combat plastic pollution. Offering people in the community a variety of employment opportunities is another way to find a solution. In addition to creating jobs, the continuous collection of plastic waste from landfills will help to clean them up and improve the soil's fertility, which will increase food production and agriculture as a whole. The majority of people in my community depend on agriculture, which has been impacted by climatic changes. Increased plastic waste in landfills and water sources has been a major contributor to climate change. We shall be able to provide quick accommodation for settlers through setting up settler camps. These building material enables quick house set.

How are you and your team well-positioned to deliver this solution?

My team comprises of well educated and experienced people with different kind of skills and play different kind of roles within the ideation of this idea, further more the team have different roles depending on their skills and strength. the roles are in terms of finance, procurements, business development, human resource, law and technical operations.

What steps have you taken to understand the needs of the population you want to serve?

As a team, we looked at several studies to see how the answer or idea would work best by reading and modifying the research that already exists to produce something better. We visited organizations who are already operating and using almost the exact solution to learn more about what is being done historically. We also conducted prototypes to obtain proof of ideas, but sadly the available resources were insufficient. In order to establish a successful cooperation, we had negotiations with those already-existing businesses.
