Eduskill
Eduskill is a platform where students can connect with opportunities to learn from or engage with experts in their field. Making the students outperform in their field.
People can be empowered in all aspects of their lives through education. It broadens his mindset, techniques, skill, and his vision of the world. We have made a lot of changes, but our educational system is still far from being of the highest caliber. For a developing nation like Nepal and India, higher education is crucial and promotes furthering human development. Many students left the country for higher studies. There was a time when studying in a classroom only required a notebook and a pencil. In today’s world, students need much more to prepare themselves for the job market.
1.Lack of Quality
The Nepal educational system is entirely based on rote learning; Students are encouraged to memorize book or documentation contents rather than refining their logical thinking and intuitive abilities. The secret to acing examinations is now memorization.
2. Theoretical Based Learning
Our current educational system focuses mainly on academic and theoretical subjects. The student is taught lessons by books, but not lessons from life. According to Dr. Annie Basant, the purpose of our educational system is to "fill students' minds with a lot of disconnected knowledge poured into the heads as into a basket; to be emptied out again in the examination hall and empty basket carried out again into the world." This is the reason why a student who performs admirably on his college exams performs disgracefully on the life examination.
3. No Real Time Corporate Experience
Students have no idea about how to deal with a job. No Institution is ready for making students deal with real life market jobs. They just complete the syllabus and make students score good marks with theoretical knowledge.
4. UnderEmployment
The fact that students in any discipline who have graduated from college are unable to find employment is perhaps the most apparent failure of our educational system. It's just that a recent graduate lacks the abilities that employers look for in candidates.
5. Incompetent Faculty
6. Poor Students who doesn't pursue Higher Education
Education requires cutting-edge, innovative, and fresh approaches that, in contrast to more traditional approaches, offer a distinctive and progressive learning environment, particularly for geographically challenging nations like Nepal.
Most students attend college in order to start a fulfilling career. Therefore, our platform gives students access to essential labor market information at an early stage of their college careers, such as information on industry sectors, highly in-demand talents, and educational needs for certain positions. We educate students about the employment possibilities connected to each major and introduce them to alumni who have earned certain degrees. We provide the platform for students where talent gets connected with the world of opportunities. It enables companies to hire talent by looking at their performance, critical thinking, and extra skills. It enables students to learn, participate in different activities, get hired and rewarded.
Opportunities:
a. Provides Hands on Experience
Technical field Students get hands-on experience by professionals of what they are learning in their institution. Students learn about safety rules, industry standards, service information and importance of job performance. Through which students get motivated in learning their specialized course.
b. Learn from Professional
We provide a live interaction of students with the professionals who are great in their field, So students learn more from them to easily adapt in future dream jobs and be motivated in learning.
c. Crash Courses
We help you to find out the best courses from different organizations/institutes which helps to advance Students skill.
Through Hiring Company
a. Provides Internship/job to students
By looking at their performance and skills, we provide internship and job opportunities in collaboration with different companies.
b. Provides mini Project
We Provide mini projects from different companies to students to solve them and make critical thinking to help them for future jobs.
Our solution serves to ensure that no college can deny the students for practical knowledge and experience. With our approach, we enable the students to engage with expertise and gain hands-on experience to prepare for their dream jobs or learn how to apply the knowledge they have learned in the classroom to real-world situations.
Our solution is designed to serve all (16-25) years old students but our main focus is for undergraduate students who struggle in jobs after passing out from college due to lack of practical knowledge and proper skills. We are targeting Nepal and India in which youth face the same problems every year. The dropping rate of students is high due to various reasons but also includes demotivation and theoretical knowledge based education. An interactive learning environment helps students develop their critical thinking abilities. This happens because students must decide what to do next in order to get the result they are aiming for.
Social Impact: We make students industry ready during the college time so the students won’t face major problems. We provide hands-on experience, engagement with industry professionals, competition, get hired, internship etc. This way the students won’t feel bored in the classroom. They can connect with our platform, gain different opportunities and implement knowledge they learned from their institute. It helps the students to study higher education and feel motivated to get their dream job.
Students benefit from participating in experiential learning activities in the following ways:
1. A deeper comprehension of the course material
2. A wider perspective on the world and a greater sense of community
3. Understanding of their own talents, passions, interests, and values
4. Opportunities to interact with various groups and individuals
5. Reliable business methods and expertise
6. The satisfaction of helping to address the needs of the community
7. Leadership qualities and self-assurance.
Our Design Lead and Co founder Myself, Kanchan Kumar Mandal has worked with Vendidoor, Byte mantra- a software company as a designer through which i gained knowledge about user centered design, ux research etc. I have also worked in the Hult Prize at Kathmandu University through the Hult Prize, i gained knowledge about how to think, analyze the problem and to lead the team.
Our Tech Lead, Parish Shrestha, has worked with Software and App development teams and he himself is a software developer. Since he has a knack for web apps, He have developed and worked on SaaS web apps too which were built using a multi-tenant architecture.
Our Team Raghwendra Prasad Singh as a Marketing team Who have worked with different startups through which he has good communication skills and better networking with many people. It helps eduskill to collaborate with different organizations and institutions.
As I am studying in the undergraduate level 3rd year in Mechanical Engineering, Friends and People used to say that It will be difficult for you to get a job and you must go abroad for a better salary. It makes me demotivated to study the course. I found that many classmates just want to get a degree and have no interest in learning and enjoying the course due to theoretical knowledge and no better job availability.
After that me and my team members decided to do research regarding that and talked with different organizations or companies, they said “ the fresher doesn't have skill, not any practical knowledge regarding the position of job, so we find it difficult to provide them a job”.
This helped us to gain a new understanding of the main problem of students and corporations. There is a gap between institute students and the company or corporation which needs to be fulfilled.
- Improving learning opportunities and outcomes for learners across their lifetimes, from early childhood on (Learning)
- Prototype: A venture or organization building and testing its product, service, or business model
1.Many South Asian nations, including Nepal, have not adopted technology that helps students develop skills and practical knowledge that prepares them for the workforce or skillful while they are in college.
2. While all technology focuses on students by providing courses online, we focus on providing hands-on experience. Students are better able to relate concepts and knowledge taught in the classroom to real world situations when they are involved in hands - on experiences and reflection.
3.Our platform offers students more opportunities and competitions to evaluate their abilities and push on further improvement.
4.It helps Students networking within the industry. Before they graduate, students gain a network of connections in their field and the essential transferable skills and qualities for the workplace through practical experience in the community or in the classroom.
5.. Our solutions work on both the web and mobile, giving users access across many devices and a bigger audience.
Over the next year, I hope to have a fully developed prototype to test more extensively with a small group of users. In the next five years, we will scale up our value chains in our current focus nations, Nepal and India, as well as concentrate on international expansion. The impact goal for the next year will be:
Empower 5000+ Students
Scale over Nepal and India
To accomplish our impact goal, we have to make collaboration with different institutes, corporations or companies.
1. We will be developing partnerships with institutes like Kathmandu University to make students skillful.
2. We will collaborate with several NGOs to help secondary school students who do not pursue higher education acquire the skills needed to find employment and support their families.
3. To inform them of the advantages, we collaborate closely with governments and other policy makers in the nations we have chosen as our focal points.
The core technology that powers our solution is web platform. The platform will be available on both website and app(ios and android version). It uses Amazon web services as cloud storage. This platform is for both students and corporations. The students use the platform to find hands-on experience with eduskill and corporations will discover, assess, and hire the right talent through accurate coding, non-tech and skill-based assessments. Its major goal is to connect those seeking new commercial or professional prospects as well as job synergies. The eduskill platform will assist students in receiving invitations from employers for job positions they have always desired to hold if they have developed a strong and skilled professional profile.
- Big Data
- Software and Mobile Applications
- India
- Nepal
Currently, we serve only 200+ students in Nepal as it's in beta version. The collaboration with other institutes and corporations helps us to reach 5000+ students all over Nepal. We plan to reach India with collaboration with institute and corporation which makes 10,000+ students to be served next year.
The main barrier is with the non-institute students. It will be difficult for them to join with other members for hands-on experience. Our motivation to create a platform that serves the students' employment. However, this initial starting point resulted in a longer path to discovering our value to potential students and corporations. While the quality of education is declining in Nepal and India and children are not learning anything, they are racing to finish the syllabus that has been taught in the classrooms. Teachers are also expected to teach something practical, but despite this, they are also in a rush to finish their own curriculum, and some teachers don't care if their students are understanding it or not.
To do that, we should hold a webinar or in-person session where we instruct the students on how to use practical knowledge, think outside the box, and manage their time. We must collaborate with an institute, medium-sized or big local business to give nearby students the opportunity to obtain real-world experience.
We have partnered with:
Bytemantra (Software company)
To pilot the website and app based platform for students. We have been supported through our prototype. This helped us in creating the foundation for our initial prototype, which enabled us to complete our proof of concept.
Kathmandu University (School of Engineering)
Our idea is mainly to focus on undergraduate level students to gain hands-on experience and make industry ready. A committed advisor is introduced to students by successful universities. They educate students about the opportunities and resources available in college. They emphasize the institution's focus on giving students the resources and assistance they require to succeed. Additionally, they provide boot camps and pre-enrollment bridging programs to help students succeed in their first-year courses. Universities benefit from partnering in a variety of ways, such as by giving students access to mentorship, hands-on learning experiences, employment possibilities and sponsored research.
Institutions and corporation are the major partners which help indirectly the students to grow and help them to upgrade skills required in real life world as well as the corporate gets Universities Students have hot bed of fresh ideas, perspectives and talent for corporate finance management.industrial visits bridge the widening gap between theoretical learning and practical exposure by giving students the first-hand exposure to identify the inputs and outputs for different business operations and processes performed at the workplace. Students have the ability to interact with businesspeople, professionals, entrepreneurs, lawmakers, and members of the corporate world through industry who share their knowledge, insights, and experiences. These interactions benefit students professionally and help them develop leadership and management abilities as well as an understanding of how the industry operates.

A team of experts will provide great opportunity to students that makes learning simple and practical, and it will spread to every corner of the nation, benefiting everyone it encounters.
