Scribers World™️ – A Creative Hub for Global Youth
Global Scribes Inc. is a For Youth, By Youth Non-Profit (501(c)3) designed to build an empowered virtual community of our future stewards of humanity and our planet. Utilizing cutting-edge technology, it is a progressive social network of engaged youth sparking innovation & collaboration, turning ideas & aspirations into reality, while building life experiences & meaningful relationships. Our youth interact across diverse media platforms free from politics, religion & socio-demographic segregation to Create. Connect. Collaborate. Our model has attracted youth in 45+ countries thus far. To meet growing demand, Scribers World™, a cyber-secure App/web portal, will offer a universally accessible “place of possibility”, enhancing our fun, innovative peer-to-peer community which augments formal education with basic skills needed for the global workplace, while improving operational efficiency.
GSYUN's broader vision is to equip youth to spur inclusive economic growth and civic engagement across geographies and demographics–Youth Uniting Nations®. Technology for Positive Youth Impact.
A divided world with global re-entrenchment
Social Isolation continues to rise among global youth
Education is not keeping pace with the speed & changes in technological advancement & skillsets needed for employment
43% of the world’s population is under the age of 25. We believe today’s youth can turn the tide of our current trajectory. Through their own testimonials, engaging in cross-border relationships they see beyond race, culture, and gender and as Scribers feel listened to, cared for, empowered to be themselves, included, confident they can reach the stars, find their buddies with shared interests, the same humour, and thrive. Studies prove vulnerability to bullying, human trafficking, gangs, drugs, suicide–social isolation–decreases when youth feel accepted and happy. Augmenting formal education: our leaders of tomorrow need to learn adaptability, cross-cultural understanding, and the ability to recognize opportunities for innovation in the face of challenges–qualities potential employers rarely find. GSYUN provides a trusted environment for Scribers to cultivate critical thinking, practical, management, and leadership skills through experiential learning. In Step 4, Scribers have 17 GSYUN Teams from Tech-to-Bon Appetit, in which to explore possible interests, find their talents and passions and together virtually bring to life innovative SDG community (Team) projects.
GSYUN is open to all youth who are connected. (We hope to include the ‘unconnected’ via the launch of our GSYUN Mobile Lounges within the first few years of operation.) If you are between the ages of 8 - 25, you may be a Scriber. Our purpose? Intelligent Connectivity. Opening doors of possibility. Augmenting formal education. Youth enhancing the lives of fellow youth. Tall, short, pink, purple, rich, poor–ALL youth–it doesn’t matter. Do you stress out on exams? Me, too. Do you cough when you get a cold? Sometimes? Me, too. Our Scribers might be anywhere in the world. They may be blind, deaf, have blue eyes, green or brown. They may be refugees, hospitalized, handicapped, autistic, top of their class or struggling, in a private boarding school or in one room with youth from various levels of learning. It doesn’t matter. Everyone needs to feel cared for, and we believe, given a chance to find their talents and passions, learn useful employment skills, and create a global network of friends, our future household, community, corporate, country and global leaders will be solid, well-adjusted communicators ready to care for their families, humanity-at-large, and our planet with innovative solutions.
After 5 years, our Scriber community has evolved from Proof of Concept to using free resources in a fragmented platform to creating our solution–Scribers World™️. Scribers World™️, a consolidated digital platform, will offer a universally accessible “place of possibility” for all global youth. In an environment free from criticism and controversy, where there is no failure, our Scribers are learning about themselves, each other, their cultures, their similarities, differences, to listen, to compromise and to care about one another. Scribers World™️ is the Creative Hub for global youth to Create. Connect. Collaborate. Enhancing our current format by streamlining and improving our operational efficiency to include award/reward catalysts, animation, Honour Levels, data-driven solutions, archiving capabilities and so much more, the peer-to-peer relationship network building and learning environment we have already created and tested is strengthened for scale.
The format will remain the same, with Scribers participating in each of the five steps, as well as, ‘Global Chatstream’:
Step 1: Write. In English the best you can. In your native language. Express your creativity sparked by GSYUN monthly word in prose, poetry, music lyrics, a script;
Step 2: Your words, Your voice: Bring to life your Step 1 contribution: (GSYUN YouTube Channel)
Step 3: The Life I Lead. 3 - 7 minute film. Who are you? (GSYUN YouTube Channel)
Step 4: GSYUN Teams: discover your passions, talents, interests and Scribers who share them, while virtually bringing to life a real project which may be in alignment with one or more of the SDG goals;
Step 5: Core Call: Scribers all over the world participate in a weekly video chat, strengthening bonds in real-time communication
At the core of GSYUN, there are several support mechanisms designed to augment formal education, inspire peer-to-peer learning, and facilitate integration and inclusion. Within each support mechanism, the human element will be supported by AI to establish buddy and mentor matches, track individual participation and contributions, identify incidents of unaccepted conduct and activities, detect virtual behavior associated with social isolation, and more. With our academic partners from the University of Maryland, GSYUN identified and will measure 4 primary KPIs: self-efficacy, prosocial bonding, belief in future, and youth engagement. AI will also allow GSYUN to tap into diverse and marginalized youth groups, included AI features designed to benefit those with vision, hearing and cognitive impairments, becoming the truly inclusive community Youth Uniting Nations® that we envision.

Five years in, with 2,000+ Scribers from 45+ countries in our community, some with 3+ years of personal testimonials, with academic research behind us, combined with the inability to accommodate the youth, schools and organizations who wish to join or bring their constituents onboard because of our current lack of bandwidth. With almost a natural 50/50 female/male constituency, with female and male GSYUN Team Leaders, with Scribers who have left and asked to come back again and with growth happening despite our lack of capacity, our solution for an innovative global community is working. GSYUN is driven by our Scribers merging their aspirations for SW™️ with technology allows them to take ownership, responsibility and pride in their own place.
Is GSYUN perfect? No. Are we making headway toward our goals? Yes. Prepared in collaboration with The University of Maryland’s START program, our Literature Review concluded, GSYUN prepares their constituency to be conscious global citizens, ready to influence society for the better. It reports decreased feelings of vulnerability and social isolation and increased self-efficacy. Decreasing vulnerability and social isolation, it is academically proven that GSYUN promotes a sense of community and belonging. This community acts as a network, not only allowing Scribers to have a headstart in the workfield, but also ensuring they never need to feel alone, no matter what challenges they are facing, or where they are in the world. Technology for positive youth impact.

Current: 2000+ Scribers in 45 countries
1 Year: 250,000 Scribers 100 countries
3 Years: 5,000,000 Scribers in 160 countries
5 Years: 8,000,000 Scribers goaled to reach every country
We are currently serving 2,000+ Scribers in more than 45 countries. In Year 1 after launch of Scribers World™️, we are goaled to reach 250,000 youth–how? 1/ we will have the capacity to onboard schools, school consortiums, organizations, including those waiting; 2/ we will have the ability to go viral, and; 3/ onboard through technology–making the process more efficient and faster. In three years, we will serve 5,000,000 Scribers in 160 different countries. In five years, we are goaled to serve 8,000,000 youth–goaled for at least one youth in every country of the world.
One of our interns asked us to also mention that in addition to our Scribers, GSYUN directly impacts the lives of the people who have helped us to achieve our goals–employees, pro-bono professional service providers (attorneys, accountants, etd), interns, volunteers, stakeholders (teachers, schools, CSR representatives, etc), Board Members and our Board of Advisors.
As an entrepreneurial and pioneering tech entity for youth, we also note, our numbers are always fluid, although we have a consistent base, despite our fragmented format, we predict an even more consistent base as we launch and grow Scribers World™️.
Within 1 Year:
1/ Raise $800,000 USD necessary to spark donation of DeutscheTelekom T-Innovation Labs Scribers World™️ front-end build;
2/ Secure Tech Partners for back-end, AI, etc.;
3/ Launch Scribers World™️ following 3-5 month tech-stack build through Beta testing;
4/ Begin scale with trusted global partners to connected youth, offering informal skill-set education in critical thinking, creativity, leadership, management, etc while increasing self-empowerment and understanding the power of equality and inclusion.
Five Year Goals:
1/ Scale includes connecting deaf, blind, disabled, marginalized, hospitalized, refugees and the 'unconnected';
2/ Scribers create and measure their GS Team project goals against the SDGs;
3/ Via KPI metrics see social isolation/stress/vulnerable issues youth decline;
4/ Streamline GSYUN Business to Education to Business: With voluntary GSYUN future trend data, Business partners/collaborators may aid Education partners strategically plan their curriculum knowing skill-sets needed by students for employment;
5/ Sponsors Job Board;
6/ Global Summits. Step 6. The tactile experience. Scribers together.
One long-term goal? Knowing when Josh, now 12, is a country/global leader steeled to win the rights of XXX for his country regardless of the consequences to others, that he will have learned to think, ‘we, not me’, to listen, and the global benefit and long-term ‘win’ in compromise. Once in situ, reflecting upon his strategy, Josh looks up above the designator plates of USA, Russia, China, India...suddenly recognizing Scriber friends–’Archana! Pedro! Sven! Lilly!’ – his strategy thinking shifts remembering 'youth Uniting Nations®'
That is GSYUN success.
Our current #1 barrier to scale is meeting our challenge grant of $800,000, our estimated cost to launch, and begin scale. If DT/TIL is investing $1.2 million or 'whatever it takes' to build SW™️, it is a fair catalyst to have the team and resources to launch and begin the scale in place. Finding trusted global partners and philanthropists willing to invest for a long-term ROI in a pioneering platform using technology (which some people contend to be the root of all evil, but which we believe is the 'teddy bear' of today’s younger generations and going nowhere) as the springboard and foundation, while also embracing our 'for youth, by youth' platform to remain so without wanting to take control, takes extensive networks, time and possibly resources we don't currently have. We need to raise the money.
5-year barriers may include a slower embrace by Ministries of Education and Cyber-Security than we have thus encountered; early accelerated growth we are not anticipating could affect our budget/cost structure, namely cloud costs; slower growth than anticipated could delay revenue-driving metrics; as re-entrenchment plays out, progressive cultural values (regarding gender, girls/social-demographic education, and technology accessibility) in certain countries could stall or reverse; depending upon our rate of acceptance and saturation we might face language barriers; and we may also face unforeseen pivot points as governing of the internet takes on legislation and our infrastructure framework is challenged by the need of other professional skillsets to keep GSYUN in compliance.
To tackle our first barrier, raising 800,000USD, we are reaching out to our personal and professional networks, cold-calling philanthropists, foundations and CSR executives. Many foundations and CSR opportunities, require specific metrics and reporting in place pushing these 'doors' into Year 2 & 3 opportunities. Honestly, right now, having the resources of the MIT Solve network, we might be able to solve this barrier and move forward.
GSYUN as a registered 501(c)3 must maintain 33% of our financials through donations, (to-date we have been bootstrapped and supported by private donor and CSR contributions), however, our goal has always been to scale and implement revenue drivers along the way, including establishing long-term global Pillar Partnerships, alongside Corporate Partnerships for ensured financial stability, local connectivity, internship and employment opportunities, and our B2E strategy, With the technology in place behind Scribers World™️, as we hit key metrics, we will be able to securely collect data from surveys and legal automated data collection for global entities seeking global trends to plan future product roll-out and production needs etc.
Culturally, the implementation of GSYUN and Scribers World™️ has always been at the discretion of the school administration or Ministry of Education, either as a part of a class to augment their formal education, or as GSYUN Club an extracurricular activity, allowing any student to participate.
Pivot points will come and go as we evolve, with each new challenge, we hope to remain nimble and flexible and strive to support Youth Uniting Nations®.

We have also worked with various NGOs, from orphanages to refugee camps, to hospitals and learning centers during our Proof of Concept roll-out. Those associations will be reignited upon the launch of Scribers World™️.
GSYUN beneficiaries are youth ages 8 - 25, their teachers, schools and organizations, as well as, their future neighbors, colleagues and employees. The impact GSYUN has to date on ‘Scribers’ (youth participating) is best defined in their own words, ‘…we feel supported to follow our dreams, we are learning and practicing what our teachers are teaching us in a fun, non-challenging environment...our English improves...we discover our passions and talents...and I have friends 24/7 from all over!’ Happy, empowered youth do not become victims, focus better in school, and those who break the fear of different, to become accepting of people, are great neighbors, colleagues and better employees. In addition, giving youth the opportunity to learn and practice critical thinking skills along with management and leadership skills without fear of failure, helps to set them up for future success as leaders, employees and family members. This service GSYUN provides, as described above, to our global community will generate sustainable revenue for their generation and generations to come in a more cohesive world. As of today, the predicted unemployed/unemployable rates are among the highest in history due to the foreseeable lack of skill sets. In addition to providing skills, Scribers World™️ will provide the opportunity for our partners to offer job training podcasts, be guest speakers on Core Call and we will host a global job board. Studies exist with supporting evidence that employed household providers are happier, mentally stable, better adjusted and more peaceful.
Our revenue Model
As a registered 501(c)3, a minimum 33% of our funding must come through donation, however, we believe the traditional Non-Profit Model will be sustainable by a rare few in the future, consequently, GSYUN was founded in 2014 with a robust plan targeting self-sustainability. Utilizing multiple models from the Donor Model (necessary to keep our 501(c)3 status which is critical to our goal embracing Scribers from all countries of the world); Mission as a Service (MaaS): charging schools which can afford yearly fee to support user tech costs for their Scribers and an underprivileged school; Stakeholder Benefits: Pillar Partnerships 10 year $10 million global partnerships; a B-Corps launch which ties into cultural exposure, tourism, artists and inclusivity; MaaS: Leasing ‘white spaces’ (chat rooms) tied to Scribers World™️ to schools and organizations desiring a communication platform for present, past, and future students; and, Software as a Service: legal Data sales relevant to corporations for such things as trend analysis data leading to future production strategy which affects needed employee skill knowledge for product manufacture and sales– information communicated with partner schools can help put our Scribers to work. We have plans which will move us beyond our current reliance upon the Donor Model. All of our strategies are dependent upon hitting the key metrics Scribers World™️ will allow us to scale at an accelerated pace.
MIT is one of the most innovative technology and design institutions both for academic achievement and practical implementation in the world. This incredible prospect to have the MIT Solve and MIT communities onboard with us in this journey through growth and scale, adding invaluable mentors, strategic experts in cutting edge technology, design, security, finance, entrepreneurship. and important partners to help us build a global community which will stand the test of time with a solid foundation made stronger with the help of a global village of committed individuals would be an amazing gift. Being a member of the MIT Solve community, having the opportunity to present to MIT faculty and students and perhaps at the UN General Assembly, will add to our global profile, credibility, and open doors of possibility to vetted collaborators and donors for funding and solid partnerships with organizations led by brilliant, seasoned people who have hope, understand and are excited about innovative Technology for positive youth impact–who wish to be the role models our youth need to be dynamic stewards of humanity and our planet, helping one another be their best selves, amazing leaders and stalwart peacebuilders. We are also excited by awesome peer organizations, sharing successes and challenges can mutually benefit us both and together we can help tackle the SDGs, global challenges, and change the world for the better. The potential to succeed and scale even beyond our wildest 5 million global youth imaginations can become a reality if selected.

Winning the AI Innovations Prize, sponsored by the Schmidt’s, will help us not just with the funding, but we also believe, with an even wider reach into expert connections benefitting the launch of Scribers World™ with advanced AI technology to ensure equal opportunity for all Scribers; rigorous child protection measures; automated keyword & phrasing flags, checks and balances, (ie chatbots to address harmful language and abusers as a means to educate and deter cyberbullying, hate speech etc) and advance our support of decreasing youth suicides, drug use, gang violence, etc through cutting-edge advances in AI: timed translation services, and the inclusion of youth with hearing impairments. In Phase II, the prize would support the addition of AI technologies for inclusion of Scribers with visual impairments and, for safe, compliant data collection to help us drive engaging and supportive programs, revenue drivers, and tech. In Phase III it will allow us to adapt facial & voice recognition roll.out to those with the supporting hardware, 5G animation, and ever-increasing visual standards.
Interested Scribers are always an integral part of our Proof of Concept, Alpha and Beta testing, so too will they be in our technological advances, ensuring our technology and tools are the most efficient and sustainable fit for them and their peers.
Important to note, is our AI integration will also help us safely scale and be an important part of Scribers World™️ as we move forward our plans for GSYUN Mobile Lounges to reach the unconnected youth.
GM can help foster four of the most important foundations of GSYUN: equal opportunity, enhancing the skillsets our Scribers have; giving them stakeholder support; and helping set them up for successful employment.
We believe youth who are self-empowered, have self-efficacy and engage in communities where their ideas, big, small, crazy or not, are supported (because there is no failure in life when you try) hold the key to prosperity. GSYUN gives all Scribers opportunity to discover their interests, passions, talents, and what they do not know–in STEM or STEAM–while practicing critical thinking, leadership, management, social and team skills combined with lessons from their formal education without fear of criticism or judgement. When they have a supportive environment which does not segregate on any level, where equal opportunity is a foundation, when they have a global social network and a virtual one which travels with them no matter where they go for opportunity, we know our Scribers can thrive.
To date, GSYUN youth (Scribers) have stood on the TEDx red carpet; won an Honourable Mention at The Blue Ocean Film Festival; represented GSYUN at the iEarn Conference in Morocco; met with Ministers of Education; improved their English & other foreign languages through fun youth-led activities; successfully launched GSIM radio on iTunes & Google Play; designed and launched our GSYUN Boutique; developed Apps; designed drones to pick-up litter; initiated and driven 17 GSYUN Teams; interviewed personal heroes; set up GSYUN Clubs at their schools and universities; and they are just getting started!
Ours are long-term and short-term ROI. Using technology, as an equalizer among men and women, boys and girls to drive positive youth impact. While we do not specifically focus on women and girls in particular, we do focus on giving youth equal opportunity, regardless of race, religion, gender or socio-demographics. The 'doors of possiblity' are opened to learn, achieve goals, be heard, take action, and take on leadership responsibilities–some driving projects addressing the SDGs–by any of our Scribers within our innovative GSYUN community and specifically within Scribers World™️. Our platform is gender neutral and it is up to our youth to strive toward the Honour Levels, win certificates, create peace treaties, and take leadership roles, etc. Opening the eyes of global peers to their mutual talents, stresses, capabilities, goals, similarities and differences, etc, we believe, will improve equality for females, quality of life for all and opportunity for any of our Scribes to be successful in life. Using cutting edge technology.
What are our goals? I would like to know, when Stellah, who is now 12, is one of our country/global leaders and she is steeled to win the rights of XXX for her country, regardless of the consequences to others, that she will have learned to think, ‘we, not me’, she will have learned to listen and, she will have learned about the global benefit and long-term ‘win’ in equality and compromise. And, upon recognition of her fellow Scribers, she will ask instead, 'How may we all benefit?’
It is a fundamental desire to provide all youth the possibility to connect and improve 'their' world. In 2015, our Founder, was asked by the Director of Zataari Camp in Jordan, if we would extend the age of GSYUN from 21 to 25 to encompass the refugee youth living in camps which suffered from an education/work gap between the ages of 18 - 25. No online university courses or support was being offered. Without hesitation her answer was 'yes.' We must give our global refugees hope. Open doors of possibility and allow their children to feel cared for, important, and gain important life skills while in transition.
Scribers World™️ is not perfect. But in a cyber-secure, virtual space, with no politics, religion, or socio-demographic segregation of any kind, our youth are connected in a for youth, by youth safe space created to support one another in striving to be their best selves... They communicate, share who they are, their individual stories, talents and have the chance to find themselves. In the 9 Honour Levels, our Scribers have the chance to understand they are more powerful as a virtual team and more amazing as individuals than they ever knew. In addition to our cybersecurity measures, our AI-based solutions intersect with edTech, education, healthcare, life sciences, and business, as Scribers collaborate on team projects embracing their educational interests, including Science and Nature, Green Entrepreneurship, Art and Illustration, Tech, and more. Offering equal opportunities to connected global youth.
At GSYUN, two of our main goals are to disrupt the world's current trajectory towards chaos and increasing numbers of vulnerable youth impacted by social isolation.
Youth are three times more likely to be unemployed than adults, even though they comprise 25% of the workforce, with 40% of the world’s population in this category under the age of 25. Our leaders of tomorrow are in desperate need of education which teaches them adaptability, cross cultural understanding, and the ability to recognize opportunities for innovation in the face of challenges, qualities employers rarely find in applicants today. GSYUN provides a trusted environment for youth (Scribers) to cultivate critical thinking, practical, management, and leadership skills through experiential learning utilizing the power of cutting edge technology to communicate.
Two-thirds of countries do not consult young people when preparing national development plans for future GNP. Through Scribers World™️, in their own innovative community, youth are able to learn about and engage in development and sustainability on a global level using technology for positive youth impact, and, in their own neighborhoods off-the-tech-grid, as they address the SDGs in their GSYUN Team projects and daily conversations. Providing equal access to youth, GSYUN promotes equality in a For Youth, By Youth global community, preparing Scribers to be positive stewards of humanity and our planet, solving global issues of today and tomorrow.
A universal GSYUN means youth have equal access to an interactive, educational community, creating a more knowledgeable, connected, and accepting world.
Peacebuilders.
