Disrupting a 150 billion dollar a year industry
I am the owner of Elite Staffing Solutions based in in Wichita KS. After watching the oppressive nature of the staffing industry I decided that I could start my own agency. in 2017 My story was featured in INC. Magazine and we made the INC. 500 at #160
As the void between the rich and the poor becomes wider and the middle class fades away along with good ol fashion work ethic opportunities for the impoverished are virtually non existent. We would like to allow the common man or women the opportunity to develop a brand built around the work they provide. Owning a staffing company I can tell you the average temporary employee will bounce from agency to agency working one low end job to the next many lack any skin in the game or any level commitment. Honestly who can blame them many of those jobs are dead end and they can go up the road to the next agency anyways. We want to introduce an APP that eliminates the need for a staffing agency in many cases and places those funds into the hard working lower class by allowing them to essentially be their own boss and empower them with a clear career path via our mobile application.
My life mission is to build people up and point them in the right direction.To be a light in every community we are in. It is my passion and I do it every day. I serve mainly the lower economic class. My focus is on those that are working hard to improve the situation they are in. We don't come from a place of judgment and we provide almost all an opportunity. What they do with it is up to them. We serve the day labor/ temporary work force and local businesses.
My idea would devastate the staffing industry. I want to give everyone the opportunity to go on jobs, get feedback and ratings then as the ratings go up and their skills improve the employee can raise their own wages which, in turn, gives them a buy in putting them in control of their own future pulling many out of the cycle of poverty. Think of contractors in a gig economy. Potentially eliminating the need for a staffing agency at all and taking a huge chunk of those profits and distributing those to the hard working lower class which will in turn restore the dream and the middle class. My app would allow the employees to be ordered directly from the App. The Client company will select the employees based on a 0-5 star rating and feed back provided for the previous companies feed back.

The solution I have proposed seeks to eliminate the need for individual employment agencies who are doing nothing but competing against each other trying to grab up as much business as possible in order to build up their bottom line while in most cases treating the people performing the work as commodities rather than people. The app will enable and empower employees to self make themselves. Instead of agencies posting open jobs the app will allow employees to mark themselves available, their profiles will list their skills, prior jobs, employer reviews, etc. In essence this will be a one stop shop for employers to source talent. Over time the employee will build his/her work history and reviews. With this they will be able to dictate and negotiate their own wage.
This day and age there is a very large population that has a mobile phone in their pocket. Mobile phones are in essence mini computers. The core technology behind our solution is an app. We will simply incorporate our process which is largely employee focused (ie. we have an employee who continually gets good feed back, we want to get them hired on with a customer full-time, we will help negotiate a good wage for that employee) and essentially convert it to a digital app format for all employees to use/self promote. They will have a basis for their self promotion based on the employer feedback.

This solution will address the disparity between the lower and upperclass by taking over whole markets. Once a large market has been taken employees will have more control over the wage they demand, markups and margins will reduce drastically due to employer and employee driving the bus which will in turn reduce the need for the middleman agency and lower overhead enough to shift the profits to the employee.

The app has yet to be developed. We are however currently applying our model the best we can to approximately 1400 people. Next year we hope to be serving over 2000. In 5 years with the app up and running we hope to serve over 30,000. With a proof of concept this number will increase exponentially.
Our goals within the next year is to get both funding and a development team in place. Within the next five years our goal is to have an operational app. Once the app is operational in our current market and we have a proof of concept we can then apply it to markets all across the US and really impact millions of lives.
We lack experience in the technical side of this project. We will need highly skilled developers working on this project. That will require a large amount of capital. Finding a trustworthy developer with actually knows what they are doing will be a difficult match to make. Beyond development there will be some legal hurdles to overcome as well.
We have some technical connections that once tapped into will lead us to the right development partner. Our current legal counsel will also be invaluable during the development of the project.

The monetization of this project falls in line with the way the current employment agency makes money with one large difference; with the market domination the app will provide we will be able to reduce margins to a level never before seen to where more money goes the employee yet still enough to run a profitable business.
In order to give this project the greatest prospect of success we are applying to SOLVE with the hopes of tapping into the technical expertise afforded by SOLVE. In addition, prize funding would be a huge leg up.
