The name of the project is Peruzor Reading Assessment and Intervention Program.
Mission
To utilize Advanced Technology in the development of Reading solutions that will assess and improve Reading and Reading Comprehension for at risk and low income children who are Reading and functioning below their Chronological level.
Problem
The major problem that we are addressing is Illiteracy among low-income students in primary and secondary schools in Jamaica, and other areas.
Problem Statement:
Students in Primary and Secondary schools in Jamaica and the Caribbean do not have access to an Objective Reading Assessment system that can adequately identify students’ reading level. The one that is presently used by some schools proves to be subjective because it is done by individual teachers.
For example: one teacher will conduct the reading test on a particular student and she gets one reading level and another does it and gets a completely different level. The other issue is, only a few schools actually use this diagnostic test.
It is used yearly, with the same students and many students have gotten familiar with the words and this has reduced its effectiveness.
Additionally, continuity is impossible, which means when students move from one school to another, teachers at the new school have no prior information of the reading needs of these students. Also, students from low income families, have limited or no access to interventions that target their specific reading issues. Stakeholders are continuously seeking new approaches that address the literacy concerns.
Benefits to the target groups:
This project will benefit children 2 to 12 in two segments: the tests section will be ideal for students who have already started school, to identify their reading levels. The Intervention is great for all because it provides a tailored intervention based on specific needs. It will reduce Subjectivity and a central database will be there for all students. This is an online project so many children or even adults can benefit.

Peruzor is a newly formed company that is dedicated to transforming the education system with the aid of advanced technology.
-This new method will Reduced
Subjective in testing and Increase the reliability of the results.
-Increase the number of
students tested.
- Better quality intervention programs.
- Improve the quality of education in the Caribbean.
-Employing people whohave been unemployed for 1 year or more.
These evidences are being used to design and redesign the features added to the program. The Reading Assessment section of the Website is completed, tested and being modified based on findings.
This is the website that is being tested: https://www.peruzor.com/
1. The number of changes made in reading level.
2. A reliability test
3. The Reduce number of students, exposed to the system needing further intervention
4. The number of students accessing the tailored intervention
The is an AI system that objectively assesses Reading levels, identifies corrective needs and then designs a tailored intervention program based on the individual's needs.

The successful outcome of this project will reduce illiteracy.
Hosting a LEAP would significantly improve the 5 years plan, which is to see all students in at least 30% of the Primary and Secondary schools in Jamaica on the system with their Reading level accounted for and improved. This would foster the sharing and monitoring of Reading level information for immediate and future improvements.
