There are many children, studying in rural public schools in our District and State who are not able to get a quality education like in private schools. Due to poverty, the parents of the children are unable to send their children to private schools. Many schools are having one teacher, who teaches all subjects 50 children, studying 1-grade in 5th grade. So, rural children do not get a quality education. And also, no other skill education on sports& games, singing&dancing, and no moral education class in public schools. Hence, derived on an idea based on location situation and conducted a survey about the of the children education in a rural area and available Govt data on inequality educational opportunity for girls, many children become dropout from the schools due to children centered schools, no community participation in the public school system and teachers are mostly from cities far away from the schools. All the teachers are not attending school regularly and have no performance monitoring for the teachers. Totally, no educational environment for total development in public schools. Our evening education center model worked very well and education status is improved by our aim to promote quality education and skill development of children are good. we have started a pilot project called evening education center for quality education of rural public school children.
Our strategies for the education center are given below :
Build parent and teacher associations and promote community support to run the education center effectively and review the program with their participation. Raised small community financial and material contributions for the program. Public building and community center is used for our education center
- Identified two local youth as teachers to teach school subjects and other skills everyday evening from 5 pm to 7 pm in the center with the help of community leaders.
- one physical education teacher will come two days in a week and improve the skills of sports and games of the children
- One music and dance teacher will come two days in a week to teach the skills to children
- One computer teacher some to school two days a week for computer, and digital learning opportunities. The teacher comes with laptop and educate the children on both subjects and entertainment programs
-Monthy tests, quarterly, and half-yearly examinations are conducted by the teachers.
Periodical competitions are conducted for the children in sports and games, singing and dancing. We are giving gifts to app participants' children and winners get prizes. The activities are motivating children to attend the education center.
So, our model is working very well. In the pilot project, we assess the children getting a quality education and better improvement in their education. The extracurricular activities impressed the children and like to continue to attend our center.
Our intervention is to help the girls children in the village and get opportunities to continue the school. No children drop out of school.
- Also, we provide an opportunity for the children to visit tourist places in their holidays which created much interest in education and continue their education. So, the project is to remove the big gap between private schools and public schools, They are getting better benefits and an educational environment for the children are able to get quality education all children
