MEDICAL AFRICA SURVIVAL
I love life and I would like to improve it.
I live in a continent where access to care is difficult and medical follow-up reserved for a privileged few.
a human but digital project:
A collaborative health management platform with unique medical identities with a view to strengthening health governance and the life expectancy of rural populations in particular and Africans in general.
A simple project in two phases: provide hospitals and patients with a WEB/Mobile application allowing, with the patient's approval, the consultation, the addition of information and the secure transfer of medical records from a hospital A to B and the provision of key data to decision-makers (governing) on real-time health management cases then a standardized electronic watch ''TCHANGO'' (information in the Bantu language), interconnected with applications and having an identification code medical device that will provide useful data to doctors/patients such as body temperature and pulse rates.
And when you live in a world where more than 43% of the population live below the poverty line, do not have access to quality medical care, are forced to travel distances to change doctors and hospitals and lose their lives often due to lack of viable information on the patient to be treated since there is no mobility device and transfer of medical information that can offer a mobile medical bulletin regardless of the hospital or center of health that he goes there, you are forced to think to save lives.

The medical file being a memory which informs us about the births, the deaths which have occurred, the patients, the history of the diseases and the hospital staff, constituting a tool for decision-making and medical training; n Pan-African Health Management and Health Assistance Platform allows ordinary patients to be aware of their medical records in a universal way, regardless of their country of destination. It would allow the loss of a patient's medical data and allow him to move his medical file from one hospital or doctor to another.
With this tool, ordinary people will have to be in adequacy with their attending physician.
Targets must be able to consult their medical file via a computer or via a smartphone with or without the Internet
Provide a powerful search tool by category (Doctor, doctor, health center, analysis laboratory, clinic, pharmacy, blood center, patient), it will facilitate the management of pan-African health data.
Survival is useful for health technicians, the Pan-African population is designed in collaboration with them, so it is easy to use and meets the needs identified without any frills. Medical technicians will be trained in its use, which will allow its appropriation. As for the population, it will be sensitized on the use and membership.
It will be a question of ensuring that this tool is fully integrated into the proper functioning of health structures. From the registration of the patient when he will present within an establishment, until his discharge as well as his medical history. Everything that concerns him will be there: consultation report, biological analysis results, anesthesiologist's report, reminder of vaccinations, checklist in the operating room, care provided and drug prescription ETC...

- Prototype
Our project is evolving today and the start of the test and compliance phase would require us to have more means to move forward.
Participating in this challenge would allow us to present a flagship project that is close to our hearts and responds to the reality of the population.
we wish through this program to offer a means of better managing health situations on the continent.
Financial resources allow us to boost the project and implement it.
To date, no pan-African policy has been put in place to make mobile and accessible to patients and doctors (when they are authorized to do so) medical data or patient records. Moreover, we do not find tools retracing the statistics on the state of health care and cases of disease that can enable decision-makers to change health situations in our countries. In the era of technology, we believe that the establishment of a medical data management and mobility system with the approval of the patient in any action of data mobility is an asset to improve the management systems of health .
Societal and/or environmental impact
A. For principals
The personal medical record is a regulatory, strategic, organizational and economic issue. Legally responsible for the application of the law, the establishment director must implement the means to "ensure that all measures are taken to ensure the communication [to the patient] of information relating to the patient's health, by the doctor in charge or any member of the medical profession”.
The personal medical file is a means of responding to the establishment's obligation to communicate its file to the patient and to the patient's right of access. The institution's ability to compile and use the personal medical file of its patients is a factor of attractiveness for general practitioners and more broadly positions the institution on its territory: at a time of decompartmentalization between the actors and between health and medico-social, the personal medical file naturally favors the establishment's openness to the outside world to improve the coordination of care thanks to the sharing of medical information. It is a tool at the service of territorial approaches and healthcare sectors. The personal medical file is useful for the practitioner in the establishment, to know the medical information relating to the patients referred by a city doctor (history, allergies, treatments in progress, reports of examinations carried out in ambulatory), as much as for the city doctor who follows the patient after leaving the establishment (operating report, hospitalization, radiology, biology, discharge letter, discharge prescription). The personal medical record is an effective, national and secure response to city-hospital liaison projects. It responds to a need for sharing between hospital and city health professionals, for the benefit of the patients they follow. It thus saves the establishment from having to carry out a specific computerization project to set up a city-hospital portal between the establishment's file and the city's surgeries. The implementation The ability to use the personal medical file is also an asset in the quality of the relationship with the patient. By responding favorably to patients who ask to create or use their personal medical file, the establishment enhances its image in its environment. In a context of scarcity of medical time, the personal medical record can contribute to improving the organization of the permanence of care within the establishment by making important medical information available more quickly for decision-making. Similarly, by dematerializing these exchanges, the personal medical file makes it possible to lighten secretarial work and mail management. B. For all healthcare professionals
The personal medical record is a major issue. It enables medical practices to evolve towards better coordination of care by promoting a culture of information sharing. The personal medical record is an important issue in the coordination of care and medical decision support. It develops historically established practices according to the organization
C. For healthcare facilities
It allows care, towards patient-centered practices. The coordinated care pathway becomes a medical reality: when the patient arrives in the establishment, by consulting the personal medical file, the doctor can learn about the events, results and prescriptions that precede hospitalization, in particular treatments and examinations prescribed on an outpatient basis. This is all information that will participate in the medical decision, or even guide the diagnostic and/or therapeutic approach and reduce the number of tests prescribed; during emergency treatment, the patient may be unable to respond. A specific mode of access to the personal medical file, the "break-glass" mode, then makes it possible to read information that can be vital (allergies, history); the personal medical file makes the link between the software of the town practices, establishments and technical platforms: as soon as the medical information is deposited there by the software which produced it, functionalities plan to distribute it to other business software , and if they are structured, to develop value-added medical services. The documents contained in the personal medical file are useful in any context of multidisciplinary or remote care.
The personal medical file also represents an important safety issue in the context of improving the quality of diagnostic and therapeutic care.
D. For healthcare professionals and patients
The personal medical record responds to ethical issues. It guarantees:
- respect for individual freedoms (patient consent required);
- respect for the person (some documents are only made visible to the patient after explanation by a health professional);
- respect for the confidentiality of health data;
- respect for the patient's choice of healthcare professionals who care for him: all healthcare professionals have access to the personal medical file at any point in the territory.
E. For the patient
Access to the personal medical file represents much more than a simple right to consult one's medical file.
Master of his file, the patient decides on its creation and closure, manages the access authorizations for healthcare professionals to add documents and information or consult it, and can himself add any document or information he deems useful to bring to the attention of the health professionals who monitor it.
Quality and convenience: the patient no longer needs to search for information to transmit to healthcare professionals. This data is available and accessible anywhere, anytime and securely.
F. For information systems
The personal medical file provides an answer to the difficulties frequently encountered in computerization projects. It offers a general and national pan-African infrastructure based on a set of national benchmarks, thus setting a framework:
The interoperability framework: it provides a unique structuring and framework that promotes decompartmentalization between health information systems. This is both technical and semantic interoperability.
The Universal Unique Medical Identifier (IUUM*): the existence of a Universal Unique Medical Identifier for patients, whether or not they are beneficiaries of health insurance, increases the possibilities of sharing medical information between health actors.
The Universal Unique Identifier of Medical Professionals: the Universal Unique Directory of Medical Professionals is a hosted database that groups the Universal Unique Identifier of Medical Professionals by category of intervention. For each healthcare professional previously registered, the directory contains their unique and permanent, non-significant identifier and a shared set of data of common interest, reliable and certified, based on a common nomenclature.
Security requirements: the obligation to use electronic cards (CPS cards) and/or strong authentication certificates raises, in fact, the level of security of the systems, for which the currently most widespread mode of access is that of the identifier/password, whose fragility we know.
Speaking of major factors for the success of our project, we could talk about:
1- An accessible market with a population waiting for the solution
2- A project that is part of the project to strengthen Gabon's national health information system
3-Thanks to our solution, several layers of society will be visited and favored; moreover, decision-makers will be able to have access to synthetic dashboards to strengthen health management policies.
Through Survival, more than 100 direct jobs will be created and more than 500 indirect jobs. We will also participate in the revitalization of health systems, in improving the experience of populations on the issue of access to information, but also helping to save more lives not only with our bracelets, but with medical history. For the rulers who would like to be informed in real time on the statistics, they will have a clear and clean dashboard and will surely make it possible to make good decisions concerning the cases of the health systems and also the progress of the diseases.
Our solution offers a set of complete and useful components.
Common health centers will have to change their way of doing things because they will have a new application for health management; users will have to be trained. For the populations, it will be necessary to learn how to use the application via workshops.
"Africa Survival" is a project based on technological components. We can cite among others: -The Web and mobile: for health management, our solution is web-oriented for hospitals and for users (Patient and doctor) a mobile application will be available on Android and IOS at launch. -Localized search: Search for nearest Hospital, pharmacy, blood banks
-A dashboard: We are setting up a useful dashboard for hospitals but also decision-makers for a view of the evolution of health systems, cases of disease, etc.
-Secure data mobility: The confidentiality of medical data being very important, we will put in place strategies for secure access to patient data with its approval
-An electronic bracelet: The electronic bracelets have information on the present situation of the patient for the consultations.
-And many others
- A new application of an existing technology
- Artificial Intelligence / Machine Learning
- Big Data
- Imaging and Sensor Technology
- Internet of Things
- Software and Mobile Applications
- 3. Good Health and Well-being
- 10. Reduced Inequalities
- Benin
- Gabon
Primary care data is entered by doctors, medical assistants, people in the health sector with access to a secure medical file.
Knowing that our solution aims to be a basic and useful element for health centers, for the register of doctors, and for rulers, the use of such a resource in partnership with rulers is a means of initiating the development phase. health management systems.
- For-profit, including B-Corp or similar models
Planning for the next five years and how to get there helps define the strategic vision. Communicate our successes and failures to my employees, Invest in their development by providing training and coaching; Delegate responsibilities; Be honest and ethical in everything; take the trouble to listen to others; Finally, the transfer of knowledge through mentoring allows me to properly prepare the next leaders within my company.
We promote gender, comprehensive and self-reliant resources, and teamwork. a good conviviality in the realization of the tasks and mission
Our business model is based on a commercial policy based on the subscription of hospitals to our health management and medical data mobility platform, the annual maintenance costs linked to the use of the platform; the registration of doctors in the Unique registers of health professionals and finally the sale of "TCHANGO" kits or bracelets to each family.
- Individual consumers or stakeholders (B2C)
Currently, we are investing more than 38,700,000 CFA francs in the project from our business income and my mobilization of personal financial resources.
Today we keep going to the next step which is the finalization of the platform, the acquisition of the bracelets and connected watch and the launch of the products. this phase requires working capital, tangible and intangible investments, loobing and business angels.
we expect to have investors to move forward on the projects.
according to our market study and our business model, investing in Survival allows in the first year after its launch phase to make a profit 3 times the total amount invested.
At the stage where we are, we only use our own resources.
Obtaining own funding to move forward would be ideal.
