TedPrime Hub's Just Nig
Our solution is designed to leverage on access to mobile technologies in every digitally driven society with open and full access to both and would-be sexually assaulted teenagers to report assault and attempted assault cases on our closed web and mobile platforms where cases that are reported are treated anonymously with the support of saviours as volunteers that had been recruited such as counselors, human right activists, therapist and faith based elders in the society.
This presence of this web and mobile solutions would have saved my experience as sexually harrased girl in 2012 in countries like india and Nigeria and such a timely intervention model to save over 40 million girls who are raped, molested and assaulted world wide if this is scaled globally. This is reflected in our message to the world with Just Nig Digital Story
World statistics has shown that 82% juveniles who get assaulted are girls. According to Nigerian Bureau of Statistics, 10,000 girls are harassed daily in Nigeria alone and only 3,000 girls get justice for what happened to them. The ripple effect of this remaining 7,000 girls return to the society unreported on the fear of being stigmatized and further abuse. On the other hand, few legal experts at different thought leadership sessions challenge the full implementation of relevant laws relating to teenage sexual violence in different countries while others hold the perspective of ignorance on the part of the victims to seek redress via appropriate channels. Research has also shown that over 85% of rape cases go unreported globally with upsurge rape cases in India in the year 2012
The solution provides a tech based platform for over 2 million teenagers between 8-17 across Nigeria from report cases relating to rape to assault which might not be reported to law enforcement agencies. These are girls from high and low income environment, private and public schools and vulnerable and safer communities.
When cases of sexual violence occur on our platform (both web and app), they report either anonymously or in person in a way that their identities and information would be protected. This later sets the pace for our local partners – School Counsellors, Human Right Activist, Therapists to engage them for counselling, legal process and medical attention where needed through the platform.
The JustNig is a web and app based platform that affords victims between age bracket (8-17) to harness and report sexual abuse or related cases
This mobile and web platform collect information on every abuse/molestation and directly transfer them to our web mail servers for access by the Technical lead who in turn collate retrieve these cases and send to the Project Lead for onward transmission to the team of experts/Saviours (such as school counsellors, human rights activists, lawyers and elder statewomen) who are currently on our platform as mentors
The technological solution behind the concept is basically to link these experts to the victims who will get justice for them and give due punishment to those who assaulted them as well as Share experiences anonymously to encourage others to speak out via radio and Television programmes and blogs to educate the wider public particularly the potential victims in those vulnerable communities and locations. he solution is harnessing the power of technology (smart phones) and media to champion this cause going by the increasing number of cases on daily basis and coupled with weekly rape cases report on our closed platform, the pilot stage is to embark on massive publicity of the Web and mobile apps ( Just Nig and and Just Nig Mobile App as the radio show is currently on to bring this solution nearer to the public through MIT Solve Team is considered imminent at this crucial time.
- Support communities in designing and determining solutions around critical services
- Create or advance equitable and inclusive economic growth
- Pilot
- New application of an existing technology
With a country of 180 people million where more than half of the entire population is dominated by the youths, it is evident that over 24 million have access to smartphone and while internet access has rose up to 53%. This is the most critical and leveraging strength of our solution where victims could report anonymously without the fear of victimization or further abuse using either our web or mobile application.
The easy access to mobile technology by potential victims (either through acquisition or by their parents) makes this solution innovative as the app JustNig Mobile App could be downloaded for free on our main website and which consequently would feature in Google Play Store in few weeks to come. More on how our project was found to be innovative at this crucial time could be found at Innovation Behind Just Nig
The Mobile and Web App of Just Nig and JustNig Mobile App send the report of every established case to the closed web mail server which allows easy access by the project lead (Comfort Ijaola) to take out and present it as a case to the team of experts through closed Social Media Platform (Whatsapp) and a group email thread for them to give their independent opinion on every case. The project team lead now report back to the victims by linking them up to these counsellors and human rights activities depending on the magnitude of the case and request her option on seeking redress in law court or counselling.
The Web App also involve the live chat box embedded for instant messaging to engage the visitors as well as experts on our platform. The mobile app on the other hand provides victims to report cases via their smartphones which inturn sends to our server for further action by our partners and volunteers.

Accessibility of required technological advancement to tackle the menace became the big problem to the society called Nigeria and Nigerians have lost faith in the system. This is because of the porosity and safety of new media such as Facebook, Twitter and Whatsapp to maintain the integrity of the affected when rape cases occur hence, the solution is providing the victims the utmost confidentiality about their cases which gave them the option of anonymity or otherwise with adequate protective measures by our volunteers/saviours such as human right activists, school counsellors, doctors, therapists, lawyers (to mention a few) who had been recruited to work with us.
Nigeria as the giant of African continent has again found its feet on global outcry on world social ill which borthers on rape and assault of girl child with #churchtoo social media cry of a pastor who alleged to have raped countless number of high profile ladies and women at their tender ages. This has attracted millions of girls and women around the world testifying their odeals in the hands of rapists across spheres of life.
Absence of information about legal implications and redress on sexual teenage violence overtime by Nigerians. This gives credence to wider misconceptions about whether are existing laws in Nigeria or the victims getting appropriate and timely justice. The challenge could also be attributed to perception of the public on the cost and bureaucracies of legal proceedings attached to cases in law court.

The solution is predominantly for girls who are within K12 in both primary and high schools as well as hostile communities between ages 8 and 17 in Nigeria. With estimated 190 million people with about 34 million smart phone users and Current number of cases in the database have rose up to 80
At the pilot stage, the project is expected to reach 360 minimum every year with the possibility of growing database of 2 million girls under MIT Solve Team framework from prototype/pilot and to scaling with Mobile App integration, establishment of Service Centre where victims are remotely and physically attended to.
Our strategic goals within the next year and for the next five years
under MIT Solve Team Framework are not limited to the following:
● Full integration of Mobile App from Android operating system architecture to IOS (currently implemented)
● Establishment of Service Centres where victims are counselled and cases are set up with full service on remote/call centres where our team can easily attend to users online via the chat box embedded, emails and other contacts of the community members of Just Nig
● Weekly Girls Episodes National Radio and Television stations as well as social media on anonymous cases to advance full publicity of our work and sensitize the larger population with the endorsement and collaboration with MIT Solve Team framework
● Recruit over 100 volunteers who are in the public and human rights sectors such as counsellors, therapists, human rights activities and faith based leaders from Nigeria to United States and other parts of the world
● Register as an International non-governmental organization and as an Affiliate of MIT Solve Lab, International Society for Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect and host of other international communities.
- Engage some of these affected girls in the community on soft skills for the future of work after a full rescucitation of emotional trauma (particularly for the actual victims) on STEM Education with the technical team of TedPrime Hub
Below are some of the challenges being faced by the project as much as it has been widely accepted by the public domain.
Social Factor: This is more cultural resistance and trust deficit on the part of victims to report cases to an established organization, constituted authorities or agencies
Economic Factor: Cost of instituting a case by the parents and their
victims
Technical Challenges: Challenges on technical aspects relating to building a more robust app that could meet the standard of machine learning and artificial intelligence which we are hoping to collaborate with MiT Solve Lab
Financials: Leading to maintaining the web services, internet, radio and television programmes with the media and legal services in some cases
Social Factor: This is by creating a robust publicity in form of radio and TV shows in the next 2 years to feature cases, victims anonymously as well as established authorities and agencies on this criminal activities on radio and television with the endorsements of MIT Solve Team. This would tend to repose the confidence and build trust by the victims and the public on
Economic Factor: Just Nig would be partnering with different organizations such as Centre for Defence for Human Rights and Democracy, State Ministries of Women Affairs and Community Development and other international organizations to support victims in the event of established rape cases.
Technical: Just Nig Project through the technical organization, TedPrime Hub shall liaise with Nigerian Telecommunication Service Providers and by extension, Africa and the world to provide support for free internet access for Just Nig Mobile and Web Application interfaces to ensure free access to the victims as well as toll free lines for victims to access Just Nig Report lines and to make cases reported received judgement whatsoever.
