The art of living and thinking while playing: Art therapy
That children can express their emotions as a way to process suffering and seek, with it, to process their discomfort by identifying situations of risk to mental health.
That children can express and learn to communicate their emotions and feelings as a way of self-knowledge and seek acceptance and healthy commitment to change from their possibilities of coping.
It is addressed to families, and especially to the children themselves, since it is they who, by expressing their emotions, rationalize their discomfort, strengthen their critical thinking and develop their autonomy.

Supporting classroom teachers
- Provide improved measurement methods that are low cost, fit-for-purpose, shareable across information systems, and streamlined for data collectors
- Leverage existing systems, networks, and workflows to streamline the collection and interpretation of data to support meaningful use of primary health care data

Because mental health is not being sufficiently attended from Primary Health Care, the cases that receive attention are those that due to lack of attention in their initial levels require specialized attention, this can be avoided if they were included as part of PHC in mental health.
It places the beneficiaries as the main actors of their own change. It encourages the autonomy of the patient being seen as the protagonist.
It generates in children a creative attitude leaving aside the passive look at their suffering.
It is expected to focus attention on mental health issues and not only biological health, the experience of the SARS pandemic Cov 2 leaves us a lesson in this regard. The measures for the prevention and control of the disease were, and are, directed only to protect biological health, and the damage, or at least the effects, produced in the emotional situation by measures such as confinement, physical distancing, the use of masks, limitations for collective activities, especially in children who have been harmed in their socialization process, have not been foreseen.
The impact objectives would be twofold: the first is that children with socio-emotional or socio-affective difficulties can begin to better manage their emotions with the positive effects that this would have on improving, for example, their learning achievements at school and their relationships in the family and their community.
On the other hand, the issue of mental health should be taken up by the health services at the local level.
Through a simple procedure already explained with the application of the CARAS R Test that was applied at the beginning of the intervention, it will be applied again 5 months after the intervention began and then at the end of the school year. With this it will be possible to measure the changes in the Attentional Efficiency and the Irritability Index in girls and boys achieved through Art Therapy.
The theory of change, as follows from the above, is based on achieving improvements in Attentional Efficiency and in the irritability index in children who go through the art therapy process. In this way we hope to “see” what needs to be changed, for this we work with the techniques of Art Therapy with girls and boys and with periodic measurement we will be able to appreciate the changes that are being achieved.
