My solution is totally innovative because it’s a new approach to solving a problem of access to basic eyecare and presently it’s an approach that has not being used in my clime. It’s all about an inclusive approach to reach people that basically lack access to eyecare, it bridges gap, breaking barriers and taking eyecare everywhere any where, connecting rural dwellers, low income earners, vulnerable populations to quality eyecare and low treatment options The eyecare connect is a clinic but does not have a fixed building but an eye clinic on wheels fully equipped that goes from location to location offering quality eyecare and affordable treatment options to people in different communities . Clinic days are fixed where they get quality and affordable eyecare services.
Our eyeclinic on wheels uses a hardware which is a movable clinic, utilizes all the digitalized eye test equipment, and software for data collection, evaluation and management of patients. Our free pop up connect center is manned by a community person where they can go log in their complaints to be inputted in a a computer portal that we can access remotely wherever we are, due to literacy level on IT use, access to network and internet and 80% of these people does not have knowledge on how technology application works

The eyecare goes to a local community, they are excited to see that there is a clinic in their environment that is exactly like the ones in urban city with qualified proffessional to attend to their eyecare needs . A child who is not able to go to school because of poor vision was able to have an eye examination for the 1st time and was giving a corrective lenses. She is happy to go to school because she can see and learn and that opportunity would have been denied her if the eyecare connect didn’t go to their community .
A mother who is tailor could not sow again due to failing vision, she looses her only means of providing support to her family got her eyes checked and was giving a corrective lenses and she gets back to work because she can see her needle holes and read her measurements.
There are thousand of cases like that and all they need is access to eyecare and low treatment intervention.

300 people seen during our trial outings . We are hoping to reach 8000 people in the next year and about 60000 in the next 5years
we are looking at reducing and bridging the gap in challenges faced by these people in accessing eyecare, by reaching about 8000 people in the next year if we fully launch and seeing about 60000 people in the next 5 years. This is definitely going to impact positively on people as we take quality eyecare everywhere, the unmet needs are met, there is an easy way to universal health coverage where no one is left out, we are reduce high rate of visual impairment and preventable blindness because the effect poor vision and blindness have on people are glaring , it extends beyond the individual but to the family and community at large . It will take an able bodied person out of work to care for a bling person or a child out of school to lead their father or mother around. There is an untold impact in the overall quality of life, economic potential , social participation, education and total wellbeing of a person.
limited funds to purchase our own Van which we will customize solely for the eye clinic an and get other necessary equipment .
Cultural barriers will be mostly language barriers based on different communities, and security if we have to go to internal displaced localities .
The market barriers for the next 5 years will be having to purchase more vans and have more professionals to join the team as demand for services will increase.
The initial funding will be the most difficult but if we get the grant we will purchase what we need to kick of , we already have and identified manufactures willing to work with us to provide products at the lowest cost, so when people pay for services and products too we generate more funds to reinvest and as our client base grow we will be able to afford more vans and be able to pay more professionals.
As cultural and language barriers, we will seek support of community leaders and locals to help us overcome the norm

we are a team of professionals who are interested in ensuring we provide impactful solutions to many problems that plague our community and eyecare is the least addressed health problem in our country.
As an Optometrist I have come face to face with the challenges faced in access to eyecare . We go to offer free services as a way to relieve their burden but in all of our trips after we exhaust our products we are still faced with huge crowd who are willing to pay for the services, that was how we decided to do our research a,s we worked a package that is solely low cost and affordable for them , and our trial outing was a huge success
optik hub manufactures the eyeglasses and lenses and Aristopharm produces the medication .
Rural communities , low income earners and marginalized population and these constitutes about 70% of our population.
Offer easy access to quality eyecare services and low cost treatment options that suits their income in a conducive location that is not strange to them.
Our profits will be reinvested to increase our fleet for scaling up to cover more regions and also to be able to be replicated in other countries .
Initial fund could come from grants, impact investors but we will be able to sustain our selves financially through sales of our products and services, renting our van and team to organization, non profit organization for their eye camp . We also intend to use our Van as a mobile advert units for organisations .

Poor vision impacts people throughout their lives, preventing children from succeeding at school and adults from reaching their economic potential.
Imagine life if you were unable to see, to perform simple task, to run in a case of emergency.
The devastation of blindness extends beyond the individual but to the family and community at large .
It will take an able bodied person out of work to care for a blind person or a child out of school to lead their father or mother around.
Visual impairment has untold impact on overall quality of life , economic potential ,social participation, education and total wellbeing of a person.
Providing them with easy access to basic eyecare and affordable treatment options is an opportunity to offer them an all inclusive eyecare where no one is left behind
Most times women are excluded from access to healthcare by men in some communities because their culture forbids them to be in the same environment with Men, so we will have specific clinic days for women where they will be the only ones to access eyecare at even a more reduced cost and also giving them incentives by providing them with other health trainings and free skill acquisition to encourage them to come out
We have a lot of internally displaced individual living in different camps scattered all over in Nigeria and this will be a perfect way for us to reach them with ease in their locality offering them access to eye care . We would work with NGO’s providing them with all the necessary workforce and equipment to carry out their interventions
In my clime eyecare data is something that attention has not being paid to . We have data dated way back and you can’t find anyone done recently . If we get the price to advance our innovation we will be able to build an effective data base for government, health organizations and researchers to make use for eyecare projections in our country
Our innovation is community driven and made to solve a problem that has eluded our government in respect to universal health coverage and an all inclusive access to eyecare which has been a plague in the country. With the use of our innovation we can address the probelem of lack of access to quality eyecare, providing low cost treatment options and at the same time eliminating blindness while enriching lives.
