Global One on One Mentored Learning

Lack of access to decent education to learn spoken English to improve future income.

We enable transfer of knowledge from caring individuals with high level of human capital to young people in environments where they do not have exposure to such knowledge. The engagement on behalf of both mentors and mentees is entirely voluntary.

We currently serve 85 students who are in high school, college, or are housewives without college degrees. The students are usually first generation in higher education, including college and high school. They are from rural and urban shanty towns in Eastern India and have had no exposure to spoken English. Many mentors are retired professionals looking to help people by sharing their knowledge and experience. Improving spoken English opens doors to many economic opportunities.

We have family and professional connections in India and travel there frequently. We are currently working with other on the ground non-governmental organizations there who have intimate knowledge of the population we are serving. We also have personal network of individuals across the world who know both the mother tongue of the student as well as spoken English. Thus far, word of mouth advertising has succeeded in adding new students and mentors.

Even though we are currently serving students in Eastern India, we believe our solution can be applied up to other impoverished regions across the world. Our one on one model can also be used to teach other subjects and skills.
