Smart Education System

Monitor your kid's attendance, homework, performance, get vouchers & pay tuition fees using our system.

What specific problem are you solving?

We are trying to solve the following problems:

1. Most underserved children in Bangladesh travel to schools on their own. Parents have no way to monitor students' attendance, and many underserved students don't understand the significance of education. As a result, students tend to bunk school and fall behind because of a high frequency of absence. They need a way to be aware of how frequently their child is in attendance.

2. If a student is sick or absent for any reason the student can't get the homework, they are not able to keep track of missed assignments. So, they need an online archive where they can access their study material at any time, regardless of their health conditions.

3. Currently education system in Bangladesh's underserved communities have very little to no feedback on a student's educational progress. As a result, the students who are not naturally motivated to study keep falling behind due to a lack of parental support and monitoring outside of school hours. Parents need a way to communicate with the teacher about their student's performance to enhance their support from home.

4. Most underserved children can't study properly because of a lack of financial means. As a result, they need a platform to be sponsored by those who have the resources and desire to donate to those in need.

What is your solution?

We have developed an IoT device, an android app, and a dashboard to make the education system smart and bridge learning gaps for the most underserved students. Our system has the following features:

1. Smart Attendance: Guardians can check when their child has entered the school and left school on their smartphone. If a student is absent, guardians also receive an automatic SMS. So now students can't deceive their parents to avoid school.

2. Homework: Teachers use our homework feature to give homework/assignments/notes to all the students of a class. Even if a student is absent, he or his guardian will be able to check the homework using their mobile phone very easily.

3. Comments: Teachers use our comment feature on their mobile phones to notify guardians about their child’s performance.

4. Notice Board: Teachers use our Notice Board feature on their mobile phones for various announcements or study advice. Guardians can remain informed about the schools' whereabouts at any moment.

5. Online Payments & Vouchers: We will provide different types of payment features in our app to pay tuition fees so that guardians don't need to go to school physically to pay the tuition fees. We will also collect donations from different places to give vouchers to the underserved students so that can pay their tuition fees and study properly.

Who does your solution serve, and in what ways will the solution impact their lives?

Our solution serves both urban areas and rural area schools/colleges in Bangladesh.

Our smart attendance feature reduces a lot of worries of the guardians as they can monitor the attendance of their child. Now inattentive students can't avoid school. It also saves time for the teachers as they don't need to take any attendance.

If a student is sick or absent for any reason the student can't get the homework but using our system students will always get the homework and it also saves the time of the teachers as they don't need to write homework on the student's diary.

As most of the parents are very busy they can't go to school to communicate with the teachers about their kid's performance. But using our system teachers regularly provide feedback to the guardians about their child’s performance. So the students are more attentive and performing better now.

As we will provide vouchers to the underserved students, they will be able to pay their tuition fees and study properly.

How are you and your team well-positioned to deliver this solution?

As an embedded system engineer I have developed some products for Solshare, Walton-Micro Tech corporation & ERROR Lab. In 2020 I decided to develop a product to make the education system smart and bridge the learning gaps for the most underserved students. So I made a team of 6 engineers to develop a smart education system. Every engineer worked very hard to develop this system and now in 2022, we have successfully piloted our system in three schools.

In my country (Bangladesh) there are a lot of underserved children. The education system is poor in most school & colleges as our country lag behind in modern technologies. For this reason we have talked with many students, guardians, teachers and we have developed a smart education system for a quality education.

Why are you applying to Solve?

We have piloted our system in 3 schools now but to provide our service in the whole country (Bangladesh), we need a lot of manpower and offices. For this reason, we need about 500K USD funding.
Solve’s network has many people with extensive knowledge of education systems and technologies. We would require strategic advice and mentorship to grow our product & services.
We also wish to gain international exposure through different media channels.
