Dear African Child: You Will Not Be Left Behind
This project will be addressing the issue of lack of Education for the poor.
1 in 3 children in the city of Nakuru, Kenya cannot attend school and do not have safe housing, they remain unsafe roaming the streets. This project is targeting them and the children of the East Pokot tribe where the situation there is so extreme. We aim to help them and enroll them into this program as well as the street children.
This program will assist 30 children at a time, while in the program is running members of the team will be simultaneously to get them into safe housing in neighboring areas. The aim would be to educate, teach relevant skills in an evolving economy and the fourth industrial revolution also to get children into safe housing.
Lack of employment has played a big role in the number of children displaced. When families cannot take care of their children they result to finding their own way through the world, which is a crime to these children. Children losing their parents also plays a big role in the number which keeps rapidly rising. Currently 250,000-300,000 children are on the streets of Kenya alone. The city of Nakuru holds a large percentage of that figure. We aim to change this. We aim to continue advocating for these children that have no advocates.
The solution would be to bridge this gap through educating these children.
We would like to have a prefab facility equipped with computers, web cameras and a smart board for classes. Our facility in Nakuru has the land to facilitate this project and the global family of teachers all over the world. We would need a computer center to bring the education to these children. In these intense but helpful courses they will not only learn English and Mathematics but skills that will prepare them for the changing world. Skills that will be relevant to them when they grow older. Combined with computer skills these children will be better equipped to take on the world and also become problem solvers.
Ideally the prefab room should have computers/laptops, a smartboard, a projector, tables, chairs and a cooling system for the machines. The facility is already equipped with Wi-Fi. The prefab room will be a well advanced complete classroom for learning, it will specialize in bringing the world to these children that only know their backyards and their villages.
While enrolled into this program our team on the ground will be assisting these children get admission into safe housing and off the streets.
The target population will be the children of Nakuru and East Pokot.
The children from the streets who have resulted to stealing, taking drugs and roaming aimlessly. Too many times I personally have had encounters with these children and have felt like a huge injustice has been done to them. No one is serving them, no one is advocating for them. They are lacking in education, basic shelter, safety and clothing. We cannot tackle all issues at the same time but by attacking the issue of education and safe housing it will be a stepping stone to the next issues. This solution will meet their needs and hopefully exceed our expectations.
Our team specializes with working with underprivileged children and has been for many years. We know how to deal with displaced children, children that are lost in the world. We have extensive experience working with children that are distraught and have lost everything before their very eyes. We know how to get through to them, to teach them the joy of life and to love living most importantly to not feel like victim.
We have worked with these communities for decades and know how to maneuver through them. We have been involved in producing fine young ladies and gentlemen that have gone out to become change makers and to pass on the gift of education through empowerment. We would like to continue our mission but with the assistance to better our operation and serve more children all at the same time.
We currently serve our community through education and offering safe housing for these underprivileged children. We empower them and teach them to empower the next children, creating a lasting effect in communities and in the future generations.
This idea was guided by the need to get these children off the streets, we may not have the tools to assist them all but this idea will allow that, what matters to us is for these children to activate their fullest potential. They will not be able to do that while roaming around the streets unsafe.
- Facilitate meaningful social-emotional learning among underserved young people.

Since COVID hit our organization has taken a huge knock. This has been a big stumbling block when it comes to achieving our mission. We hope this opportunity can assist us to find the next president on the streets and give them an opportunity they are so desperate for. We also would like to bring technology and innovation to this little corner of Kenya.
