Be with the childrens they will be on school
We working with the underprivileged childrens and the tribal community of Sundarban and Bolpur we are providing theme education and nutrition and health care and women empowerment. We are providing them foodin and all that's why childrens are not migrated and not chilled labour. Every day the children came in our centre and studied, playing, and all only at night they will go there house. This childrens are first generation school going children. We stopped school dropout. We have 3 centre like this
We have provided egg and milk for pregnent mother and childrens every day 500- 1000 heads. Sundarban and Bolpur and puruliya. We organised 17 community kitchens for 167days.
We are working with 250 families permanantly .
I am giving our website and Facebook Page link .. www.sondhi.org.in
https://www.facebook.com/22830...
We provide them midday meal, women empowerment through micro poltry firming and agricultural and build a self help group and they provide honey and hand craft etc.
I believe that if the family income is stable then the parten will not send there children to work. I found that govt is providing the education free of cost but why childrens are not going to school? I found that tha problem is they have no money to pay privet tutors that's why they will not go to school . Then we will make out there families and started working with them. Many families have no other mamber to look after the children and children are not in control they are addict other things. Then we start our centre concept.
Our experience is if we work with them for 5 years based on community then that community will improve permanently becouse if the underprivileged children's are first generation school going then the next generation will use to.. if we have enough fund we can work Manny comments. And we can successfully meaningful improve we have already gets the results.
They are all tribal community and fiend out leaders from them and they can identify the problems verry easy. They make out them there own language and other teachers are closed to that community they are directly connected with the community for 3 years.
Me and my team are closely related to this communities just because when we started working before 2 years we build up a trust by providing some essential elements like providing tarpolin , blanket, clothes etc. This communities mostly have no permanent registration of there land . They are starting there besed on traditional right. They are working as labour for rabindra nath Tagore's jamindari. My team members are mostly from that community. Our centre is on ther community. Last 5 years we are working with them they are closely related to us.
If you can visit ous website and page then it will be very easy to understand.
We believe in practical work not in theory.
We reduced unemployment by hand craft, micro poltry firming, agriculture , goat firming. Etc.
Providing education and nutrition and health care. If we can provide there basic need then it will be very easy to make out them why life ? Where life? What is life?
BACKGROUND OF THE ORGANIZATION
CANNING SONDHI. We are a grassroot level ngo working in rural and suburbs of West Bengal like Sundarban, Santiniketan, Jhargram. We are working with the underprivileged section of the society which mostly consists of tribals and non-tribal locals. Our mission is to nourish an affinity towards education for the childrens of that section as they are deprived of education owing to their financial conditions. We have various background of members like scientist , nurse ,doctors , teachers, lawyer , in india or out of india .
Our small feats so far -
1. We were successful in building three preschools - one in Santiniketan and the other two in Sundarban. We are providing them with basic education, extra curricular activities, health care, daily nutrition etc.
2. We have employed a few locals as teaching staff/caregiver which has helped them as they had lost jobs due to covid.
3. The preschool houses are provided by either local volunteers or we rent them using funds from our donations.
4. We are also working on women empowerment by helping them to become financially independent taking various measures like -
- micro poultry farming: distributed hen/rooster among the village ladies. They breed those and sell their eggs & extra stock.
- handicraft: we promote and sell their hand-made products in our stalls at various 'melas' and state fairs.
- agriculture: distributed small but financially beneficial plants and seeds for farming.
5. We promote and sell their local 'sundarban honey' through our channels.
Some of the activities we undertook during Covid-19 and Amphan in 2020 -
1. Community Kitchens:
- Fourteen community kitchens ran continuously up to 107 days
- Approximately 7 lakh meals served to daily-wage earning laborers who were out of work
2. Grocery Distribution
- Distributed 55000 essential grocery kits to needy families

Frequent flooding and tropical diseases only make their lives worse. DESCRIPTION OF THE PROJECT / METHODOLOGY
Proposed Plan: (i) Education of orphaned children We envision a non-traditional school-cum-residence for the daughters of Sundarbans, who lost their fathers to tiger attacks. This school will have the capacity to host 100 girls until they are 18yrs of age and provide them with a holistic education. There will be one residential supervisor and 5 full-time teachers, hired from local educated youth. In the first phase, we have identified 30 such orphaned adolescent girls. The girls will be imparted academic education, as well as lessons in organic farming, selfdefense, handicrafts and arts. We envision that such a holistic education will help the girls discover talents, prepare them with life-skills to become self-dependent adults, and enable them to have a respectable livelihood. As part of the holistic education, Sondhi will entrust each girl with the rearing of two kids (6-month young goats). As the goats mature over the years, the income generated from the sale of milk will be deposited into each girls bank account. Any newborn goat will be the property of Sondhi. We will provide for all living expenses for each girl during her stay in the school and beyond until she completes graduation. The savings in each girls bank account will be her property and withdrawable when she comes of age. (ii) Economic empowerment of women Organic farming The land adjacent to the residential school will be utilized for organic farming. We will teach the women how to make bio-based manures and organic pesticides without the use of harmful chemicals. We think that growing medicinal herbs will be of great value and enable income generation. Such farming will also provide a source of nutritious vegetables in the daily diet of our residential girl children. Micro-dairy - Recently, we initiated a micro-poultry program for two hundred women from daily wage-earning families. The vision was to enable these women to generate some supplementary income by selling eggs. So far, these women have demonstrated their urge to become more resourceful and shown continued progress in rearing the chickens. In the next phase, we envision a micro-dairy program along the same lines of the micro-poultry program. We will loan young goats among women against a refundable security deposit. Once the goats mature, the women will be able to earn money by selling goat milk. Such a program will also help mitigate malnutrition among children. The beneficiary women are supposed to give two newborn goats back to Sondhi, as a repayment in kind. Otherwise, the security deposit will be forfeited. These young goats will be loaned to the next group of women beneficiaries of the micro-dairy program. Vocational training We will provide training to local women to learn crafts such as sewing, bag-making et
.
