Your Guide Into Tech (YGIT)
As leading companies across industries push for further adoption of digital technologies, IT professionals have become some of the most in-demand members of today’s labour force. The rapid growth in the Tech space & the massive Demand for tech skills calls for mandatory supply for the skills.
As Africa is underrepresented in the tech space, although we have to acknowledge the rapid growth of the tech industry in Africa as well
Many people that are willing to learn do not know:
How to get started?
Where to get started from?
Which course is good enough?
Which course Is worth the price?
Which book is the best to read?
Which Youtube Channel will accelerate my growth?
And so many unanswered questions...
YGIT helps in answering these questions. We will also help with free mentorship to accelerate the career of new people in the tech industry and for those that are already in the industry seeking to clear their path.
We will also help share incentives to help those just growing in the industry.
YGIT will be a website just like I demonstrated in the pre-launched on Notion. Our final website will be a simple website that is easy to navigate and will include all required resources for each field.
Other pages on the website will also include our mentorship page, where you'll have access to one-on-one mentorship with mentors.
We will also have a blog session, where we will touch on topics relevant to each field.
In expanding our solution, we will collaborate with accredited Tech schools in Nigeria to sponsor tech boot camps and courses for outstanding candidates.
YGIT is not only for the current internet users but also for the subsequent billion users.
Our solution serves Underrepresented groups from Africans to African Women to Unprivileged kids/Youth who cannot afford the luxury of owning/getting efficient resources.
We believe that Africans, in general, are underrepresented, so our solution is targeted towards Africans. Also, Women are now even more underrepresented, so we will use our medium to encourage and help more women get into the tech space.
We are a set of techies and as of now most of us come from an underrepresented background. We have, in one way or the other, experienced this problem. This is what sparked the idea of founding YGIT.
A short story about when I started my career in tech I struggled to get a laptop, even when I did it could not run all that I wanted it to run, It lagged as a snail & it made me so unproductive that it took me days to accomplish a simple task that I am supposed to achieve in a day or few hours.
This was just the first part, and then I continued the struggle in finding the right course for me.
Looking back now, I do not want other people coming into the tach space to face the same struggle as I did
- Enable personalized learning and individualized instruction for learners who are most at risk for disengagement and school drop-out
- Pilot
I applied for solve mainly because I want to advance this Idea of mine and also hear other people's (MIT Expert) perspectives of my idea, I would not like to miss the access to mentorship, coaching & strategic advice.
I also want to have access to the trusted support group & also gain exposure.
- Human Capital (e.g. sourcing talent, board development, etc.)
I view my solution as innovative because we are providing what people really need, we want to be known as the Wikihow of the tech industry.
As we also share incentives for our users this will allow us to grow 10X faster and gather more users.
By next year we want to have at least made getting into the tech industry for 500 people and also allivate them from poverty.

We plan to generate money from advertisement and affiliate marketing.
Since we are going to be referring people to courses, we will use affiliate links to generate money to fund our work
So far all we have raised is the founder's grant, which was the brand identity I designed for the project and also the ad campaign. Also the website design I am currently designing.
All this are what I evaluated and estimated it to sum up to $10,000
