Engage in education and training to Deaf and Dumb youth

Samprity Aid Foundation has been working with the children of Deaf and Dumb. We have a sign language special school up to primary level. Students of hearing and speech impaired completed primary education from our school but majority of them do not continue high education as there is no good inclusive system of acceptance to the students in general education. They become dropout from the school. Hundred of deaf and dumb children deprived from high school education. They need to reengage in education and our special solution to arrange for them special coaching and vocational training. We also think for extend our school up to high school level so that every students with deaf and dumb can continue the high school education.

Deaf and dumb girls completed primary education but later on they their guardian have stopped their education and they have lost their future hope. Maximum of them become victim of child marriage. They have much potential but they can not show it due to lack of opportunity.

Samprity Aid Foundation want to solve this problem and start high school education as well as computer and other vocational training those who dropped out from the school earlier. 

Samprity Aid Foundation intend to continue the high school education of the children with deaf and dumb who complete primary education from our school. Moreover, Samprity aid wants to provide vocational training, special coaching with our trained sign language teacher to reengage in education to complete high school

Our special trained teacher try to build them with appropriate skill and knowledge and they have good result in primary level cooperative to the other students. But 95% of them not continue high school education. At least 150 youth who have completed primary education earlier are now out of school. We want to provide special coaching and mentoring to inclusive in general education, Provide vocational training to them and existing school will extended up to class Ten so that they can complete secondary level of education and able to enter college education.

The students of our sign language school from class one to class five. They are trained with good knowledge and schools but do not continue their high school education lack of education system and parents discourage to invest fro them.

During corona pandemic out school was shutdown but we have special arrangement to continue their education at home level. We have made group at village level and our teachers went there according to the schedule.

We have dream to continue their education up to high school level. We shall provide special coaching to the students who already been dropped out from school and we shall provide for them vocational training. Therefore, our three solution are:

1) Extend our school up to class Ten and it will be affiliated by the Government in future so that government will take the responsibility. Students will able to complete class ten  and enter to the college.

2) Provide Special coaching to the students who become dropped and inclusive them in general education.

3) Provide Vocational training to the students who dropped out earlier and build them skilled human resources.

Students with Deaf and Dumb is our target students. We give emphasis to the school drop out students to continue their education and ensure for them vocational training.

We shall engage parents and motivate them to continue the education of their children. We seek helps from them to engage drop out students in the school and we seek cooperation to them to send their children in our high school to continue their education up to class ten and complete college level of education in future.

Samprity Aid Foundation will also collaborate with local Government and seek their cooperation for the school. It will make a link with youth development department of Government and ensure they can support to the deaf and dumb students for their vocational training.

Samprity Aid Foundation operate the with high skilled Teachers with trained on sign language. Out Teachers are trained on sign language from renowned institute in Bangladesh and working experience with few foreign expert. To implement the project we shall recruit some expert teacher to work in high school level and provide special training to the coaching teacher. We shall hire expert vocational trainer who have knowledge of sign language to train the students properly.

Maximum of our teachers has completed post graduation degree ( Masters Level) and Completed Bachelor of Education. They are professionally skilled and have good knowledge and skills of them. Every year some foreign expert visited to our school and train to our teachers.

Samprity Aid Foundation has been serving to the children with Deaf and Dumb with the cooperation of Donor/Partner, Local community and parents. The Department of Education of Government is cooperative and provide books every year. We receive little fund from Italy for our primary school. But we don't have any fund for our propose high school from class sis to class ten. We need special support for this purpose.Moreover, we need support for special coaching and vocational training. The challenges and barrier we have something we are able to solved with our capacity and expertise but we need monitory support.

There in no good system or set up for the children with deaf and dumb for their education in Bangladesh. There is limited scope of support. Samprity Aid aims to build a model solution that will replicate by the others. Government will also give priority for their education. It will bring hope for the parents who are dishearten with their children future. It will bring positive impact and contribute to the UNSDG-4 where stated quality education for all and life long education.

The goal of our project for next year :

1) All students completed class  five will enter high school section in class six.

2) All dropout students will come under special coaching and they will inclusive in general education.

3) Some students who dropped out from school many years ago will receive vocational training.

After five years of intervention:

1) School dropout rate become zero and all students completed class Ten and enter college.

2) Dropped out students continue their education and study in college level.

3) Young children completed vocational training will involve in job and earn money for their family.

4) Parents will find a new hope and never feel worry for their children with deaf and dumb. They send their children in school.

Due to intervention or solution visible and invisible change will be appeared in the life of children and in the family of the children, these are:

1) Every deaf and Dumb students enjoying education.

2) School Dropout rate become zero.

3) Rate of child marriage become zero among the girls with deaf and dumb.

4) 100% deaf and dumb children completed high school education and enjoy college education

5) 100% young children completed vocational course are engaged in job or own  trade and doing income for the family

6) Contributed UNSDG-4 as every children are in school and long time learning.

7) Parents become happy and change the mental and psychological depression both children and parents.

Samprity Aid Foundation is working in the community through community engagement to gain their support. It has scope to work in the community and identify the students with deaf and dumb  who are vulnerable and helpless It has capacity to root cause analysis to find out the real situation and take action accordingly. The project will implement with the different stakeholders  such as community stakeholders, NGO ( Non Government Organization) and CSO ( Civil Society Organization). It will ensure support from Government to operate the project properly.  

Samprity Aid Foundation has trained and dedicated  staff to carry the project activities properly. The team will work together and take collective decision to reach the project goal effectively. The project will involve local elected body to gain their support and cooperation. It will involve media so that media can focus the situation of deaf and dumb children  and their vulnerability, focus their need from government.  

The project will do advocacy with Government stakeholders and policy makers so that enabling policy support for the poor and vulnerable children . The project will linked poor family having deaf and dumb children  to the social security package of Government with the cooperation of local elected body.  

Sequence of project implementation project are :  

• Complete recruitment/deployment of staff for the project.
• Prepare for high school education  with necessary equipment.
• Select the students from the different village and motivated their parents to send them school
• Select NGOs and CSOs to make network for collective action and raise for the right of children with deaf and dumb Conduct advocacy workshop with different stakeholders
• Organize parents meeting meeting to ensure family support
• Conduct regular monitoring/evaluation as per schedule. Conduct year ending audit and Project closing evaluation

Samprity Aid Foundation will adopt technology based education support. Class room will be decorated with the multimedia and laptop so that students of sign language can understand  the session properly. Training room will be decorated with computer and multimedia.

We shall use all relevant technological support to improve the quality of education. We provide students hearing aid  for whom applicable so that they can understand the language.

Samprity Aid Foundation is a humanitarian organization and serving the people with human values.  We are gender sensitive and every human being has equal rights . We engage community people  project planning and implementation project. Community and Family members of children with deaf and dumb will take part the project implementation directly and they also participate in every plan about their relatives.

Parents Teachers Platform  will closely work with the project and take follow up the project activities. The project will ensure good governance elements include accountability and transparency and give value to the opinion of beneficiaries.Quarterly  meeting will be conducted with parents  to know their view and advice to improve the services

Samprity Aid Foundation will adopt complaint solution shamanism and give emphasis the opinion of beneficiaries.

•  Boys and girls are equally treated and strictly follow the child protection policy.
• Complaint of students  regarding service will be accepted and will take necessary measures  immediacy.
• Child abuse and exploitation is treated as Zero Tolerance policy
• Special safe guard is taken for girls students during their movement and school premises.
• Network members a will  involve in decision making process of safe home management and a committee will be form with the members local community. Secret assessment will be done to know the view of elderly members , as per their recommend service would be delivered.

Samprity Aid Foundation is a donor dependent organization and project is

operating with the support of donors and partners, But we encourage
parents to take responsibility partly. We have plan to linked the
services with the Government so that Government provide every support
to the children with deaf and dumb for ensuring their education.

Samprity Aid Foundation want to make  a sustainable project and we are encouraging parents and stakeholders for support our children. These are:

1) Contribution from parents.

2) Contribution from stakeholders/community

3) Government support in future through affiliation by the Government education Department.
