Green Tipi

The Greentipi is a vertical orchard with a pyramid shape, has a device in the upper part that traps water from rain, wind and fog, to irrigate the orchard. The Greentipi is a simple solution that will provide local and sustainable food in the cities.

Several cities in the world are suffering from water shortages and food shortages. Climate change increases the cost of food, makes fertile soil sterile, and dries up surface and groundwater sources. Due to population growth in cities over the next 30 years, technologies should focus on helping vulnerable people living or arriving in cities without housing or food, such as people displaced by armed conflict. Our solution provides permanent or temporary vegetables and fruits in any area of a city with rainwater or fog water, solving at the family and community level the lack of local and sustainable food.

Our proposal manages to solve the problem of local food since it does not need land or water sources. The solution uses rain water and wind or mist water to irrigate water in the crop. For this reason, the Greentipi could be used in any terrain and climatic condition. The technology of the solution is based on connecting rainwater storage for use in the orchard. It uses local water and obtains sustainable food, free of pesticides. The technology is simple and easy to install and the irrigation is done by gravity.

We usually consume foods grown outside the city, with pesticides and low quality. The Greentipi will be able to reduce emissions of greenhouse gases, the use of pesticides and will provide fresh and local food to the population.

Anyone can be a beneficiary of the Greentipi because it can be located in any space. However, it will be very beneficial for poor and displaced people who do not have a normal supply of vegetables and fruits.

Greentipi will be distributed to people without water and land, as its installation is simple anyone can install it and work in it.

The Green tipi is an innovative solution because it offers ecological food in the cities. It uses a pyramidal form to take advantage it's dynamic energy for the plants. Green tipi in some designs has a layer that will protect the food and created  greenhouse effect to improve the orchard

The technology is simple because  are used simple materials to catch water and everything works mechanically.

This technology helps people to have local and sustainable food in anyone community. The big cities don´t have space to plant vegetables and fruits and the roofs will be insufficient, for that,  the Greentipi take advantage of the height in cities and a few square meters in the surface. 

The Greentipi center the technology in the human because use local resources, help in the food supply, and save money en the costs of food and transport.The people that install it, should learn and careful the Greentipi during the all its life cycle. 

People will access the solution through community projects or with their own money. Technology will be accessible to people because it is an economical solution.

The solution will be implemented first by a pilot, according to the results, the Greentipi design will be adapted to envinronment. 

In addition, Greentipi design is very versatile and adaptable to different environmental conditions. After this, a technology outreach program will be done.

The Greentipi is medium in size, is vertical and is made for outdoors so its affordability is simple. 

The project of the Greentipi is a futuristic concept where it´s integrated water solution with food production. Our plan to make the Greentipi is the following: first, do the pilot where we will do tests.This pilot will allow test various designs and choose the best option. We think thta make an excellent pilot is the key of the project.

Thus our financing strategy focuses the resources in the pilot, on having an excellent design for investors or communities that need food. With the pilot, we will probe the Greentipi in public and will look the opinion of the people. Then, we will a market study and expose the pilot in conferences or fairs where we can found investors.

In the moment when we will found good investors, we can think in grow and scale the solution.
