The risk factors for chronic diseases include an unhealthy diet, physical inactivity, tobacco use.
These causes are expressed through the intermediate risk factors of raised blood pressure, raised glucose levels, abnormal blood lipids, overweight, and obesity. The major modifiable risk factors, in conjunction with the non-modifiable risk factors of age and heredity, explain the majority of new events of heart disease, stroke, chronic respiratory diseases, and some important cancers.
Dr. Neo is a human-centered AI-powered clinical digital assistant that provides predictive analytics, risk assessment, drug recommendations, and a knowledge base for chronic diseases.
It will help doctors make clinical decisions and recommendations thus providing personalized health care to everyone, especially the underserved.
It will also have a front door mobile app that will help "nudge" patients or users in the right direction based on their predictions.
Dr. Neo helps doctors and caregivers in,
- Automatic risk stratification of the entire population
- Prediction of disease development and mortality forecasting
- Extraction of medical information from unstructured medical records
- Identification of suspected diseases (symptom checker)
- Individual recommendations to physicians and patients based on clinical guidelines
- Answer any clinical questions from its well-curated and vast knowledge base.

It will be a hybrid of a voice app and mobile app that can be used on mobile devices, smart speakers, smart devices, and screens.
This will help doctors or caregivers in providing accurate, personalized health care to seniors(T.A) as they are the most vulnerable to chronic diseases.
Dr. Neo uses machine learning to learn the patient's data and its knowledge base. Natural language processing, automatic speech recognition, and Speech to text tech are used to build the conversational AI component of the solution, and behavioral science for its "nudge" contents served to customers on their mobile app.
Users of the assistant will be

The target population I am working with to improve their health is the Seniors(50 and above). They are vulnerable, have a low immune system, have low income or no income, lack physical exercise, most stay alone.
A lot can't even visit hospitals because of mobility, cost of transportation, cost of consultation, lack of silliness to visit because of wait times, lack of access to good health care.
Dr. Neo will
- See the future morbidity and mortality of patients based on real clinical practice data. The ability to pre-select the most problematic areas and work ahead of the curve.
- See the demand for medicines and
health products and reduce inefficient spending on unnecessary purchases or supply disruptions if there is a lack of medicines/devices. - See an accurate forecast of possible
deterioration in the patient's health in the near future and take the targeted measure. - See the prognosis of a possible
diagnostic finding and prescribe the one that is most likely to give a result. - Pay attention to the patient in need of
additional examination and/or treatment to prevent the manifestation of the disease and consequent death. - reduce the cost of health care

It is necessary to implement a risk-based approach and predictive analytics
based on AI technologies to prevent diseases and reduce inefficient costs with its domino effect reducing the overall cost of preventive disease, getting better-personalized care(mobile app), and long and happy life.
We work with Medical consultants, Researchers, and seniors to give inputs that help in designing the software.
We are always having constant conversations with doctors, especially in semi-urban areas, getting insights into the challenges in the provision of efficient health care services.
We also visit nursing homes, try to understand their difficulties and challenges in receiving quality health care. e.g From our survey, 80% would prefer to speak to mobile phones to retrieve any form of their data, 90% would love to get "nudge" contents to help them live a healthier and longer life.
All ideas and insights are incorporated into the design of the software.

Dr. Neo will help leapfrog the above problems in developing countries like Nigeria.
The impact goal for next year is

Overall in line with the UN SDGs 3.4 and 3.8,13.1, we would achieve universal health coverage, reduce mortality from non-communicable diseases, promote mental health, and help achieve climate goals.
