MedPack Digital Pharmacy

A survey done by MEDPACK in Dar es Salaam city shows that; Access to medications and proper use of those medications is still a problem. In the hospital patients spend 1 to 6 hours l for treatments, coming to the pharmacy can found 35% or 43% percent of prescribed medicines are out of stock. So, patients /caregivers spend more time searching medicines from one pharmacy to another, hence using more money and extra time.

MedPack provides online Pharmacy through their mobile devices via apps and websites for doctors, pharmacists, caregivers, and Patients to order and buy medication and other pharmaceutical items online from trusted pharmacies and we do quick delivery to doorstep.

A survey was done to youth in universities at the National Institute of Transport (NIT) and the University of Dar es Salaam. We found that  55% of youth aged from 15  to 24  are exposed to misuse of prescribed medicines.

This is also supported by the Mayo Clinic proceeding article on Prescription drugs show that 47.5% of youth aged 15-24 misuse drugs due to a Lack of Knowledge on prescription drug and their potential harm. 

To solve this on our mobile App people can learn different ways to prevent diseases and proper use of medication.

HOW SYSTEM WORKS

Customers; On mobile APP after the simple registration of an individual or Health facilities have a chance to see products and order or buy. and Individuals have a chance to order health products, over counter medications and for prescriptions medications, it's necessary to  Upload a Valid Doctor prescription from Authorized Health centers, receive prescription order notification with the amount, check out by selecting payment model cash or delivery and waiting for your Delivery.

Pharmacies; Pharmacies have a chance to see orders from their customers and prescriptions orders. Also uploading new health products, brands, and medications. Also, provide medical assistance for an individual on the proper use of medication.

Doctors; We partner with doctors from different clinics, They use MedPack APP to refer their patients to MedPack in case medication is out of stock or chronic ill patients for monthly dose supplies. Also, they can post health articles on Learni g Part within a mobile APP.

Out of Stock: Inaccessibility of medication and pharmaceutical items in the hospital about 43% in public and 35%  of prescribed medication are out of the hospital, patients or caregivers use more time and money searching for medication. It can take 3 to 4 pharmacies to get your medications.

Queues; Wasting Time due to queues in hospitals, clinics, dispensaries, and health centers.

Privacy; Lack of confidentiality, sometimes patients feel shy to express their problems.

Disabilities; lack of a simple way for chronically ill patients, elders, and people with disabilities to access medication

AMR; In access to medical assistance that can reduce antimicrobial resistance (AMR)

We are targeting to ensure the Tanzanians 60 million people have access to primary health care by ensuring easy accessibility of medication, health products, and equipment to individual and health facilities.

In Our research to Dar es salaam city where we are working right now, over 33,000 patients attend the hospital per day. 43% of prescribed medications are out of stock so caregivers or patients spend more money and time searching for medications. Dar es Salaam has a population of 7 million by 2022. What about other areas in rural areas.

MedPack is committed to work with organizations and other health care companies to ensure the use of technology in delivering essential medicines and health products to health facilities and Individuals in both rural and urban areas.
