Lavender Mosquito Repellant soap, Vaseline and lotion

Lavender Repellant is multi-sectorial business that majorly addresses two problems that is malaria and poor disposal of waste banana peels and cassava peels

In Uganda according to ministry of health, malaria kills more than 320 people every day with under five children and pregnant mothers making the biggest percentage. Also malaria constitutes 40% of missed school days severely affecting the education system as many students and pupils especially in primary and secondary schools miss classes and eventually fail to sit for their exams due to malaria. Malaria is a social, economic, development and health problem that requires actionable daily preventive measure.

In Uganda over two million tonnes of waste banana peels and cassava peels are generated everyday from local homes, public markets, hotels and institutions that are littered all over environment harboring disease causing germs and spreading vector yet this a valuable resource that can be recycled into useful materials

Our solution is lavender mosquito repellant soap, vaseline and lotion made using traditional mosquito repellant herbs and potassium and sodium hydroxide  recycled from waste banana peels and cassava peels and other vegetable oils. We use traditional ancestral and manufacturing technology that is chemical free to make our products. Soap is a universal product that is used everywhere and daily by al most everyone and weaponizing it to fight malaria by keeping your safe from mosquito bites makes this solution unique and effective from the conventional methods like sleeping under treated nets. WE all know soap and cosmetic are universal products and our solution leverages them to fight this serious malaria problem. our products works by keeping your safe from mosquito bites for 7 hours. after using the soap the smell left on your skin very sensitive but unpleasant mosquitoes keeps them away as it blocks their breathing and olfactory system. With vaseline and lotion use enhances your protection against mosquito bites for extra hours. This solution is revolutionary, actionable and universal and will eventually eliminate malaria from uganda and world at large

Our target population are pregnant mothers, under five children, school going children and tourists and the elderly. For example pregnant mothers and under five children have fragile immunity and are the largest most severely affected group. the current conventional methods are not enough alone like sleeping under treated net as people have always reported of mosquitoes biting them before bed in late evening hours. Also here in uganda people especially low income earners are unable to purchase these nets  and use of chemical sprays are not friendly to most of people. This has left large number of people underserved. My solution addresses their needs in such way that it is natural making it user friendly by everyone and it is easily accessed as products are natural and gives everyone limitless actionable possibilities to be safe everyday. The user feels okay and valued to buy a product that serves many purposes like my soap that does the cleaning and also keeps your safe from the mosquito bites hence will kill two birds with one stone. With this solution of mine you are safe everyday and everywhere unlike other methods 

We are the best team to develop and drive this solution. Personally the CEO  and co-founder have lived in these marginalized communities since childhood, i was once a victim of malaria in my secondary school as i missed my end of year exams. i have worked and still in touch with child development centers where i have witnessed children succumb to malaria and understand the pain the problem brings. The other two team member are working with community development health program and everyday witness what malaria does to our people with that pain acts as a continuous motivation to bring and expand our solution for better. we have directly engaged rural women to farm mosquito repellant herbs like lemon grass, rosemary, eucalyptus so that they be part of the process understand it. We have equipped and trained over 200 women in western Uganda to plant these traditional mosquito repellant herbs.

Using daily products like soap and cosmetic to fight malaria as they also still serve their conventional purpose make this solution unique and innovative in the field of mosquito repellant industry and by that provides a significant revolutionary change to approach the problem. it is very catalytic in a such way that the user would choose to buy a soap that cleans and also protects him from malaria killing two birds with one stone this will accelerate the malaria elimination rate. This will change heavily the mosquito repellant market and also the soap and cosmetic industry market as it falls in all the three sectors creating a huge impact

Reduce malaria death by 25% in next five years in uganda by providing and extending products to reach everyone.

Achieve a 80% reduction in missed school days due to malaria in the next five years by partnering with schools to encourage students and pupils use lavender mosquito repellant products.

Reduction in number of pregnant mothers due to malaria by ensuring they are fully protected from mosquito bites at all times

Reduction in death of newly born babies and under five children due to malaria by providing equitable all time protection from mosquito bites

Reduction in number of annual malaria cases admitted in hospitals

Traditionally our grand parents used to plants these mosquito repellant herbs like lemon grass, lavender around homes to keep mosquitoes away. From knowledge of science we can extract essential oils from these plants and make mosquito repellant products that we supply to people and make the available all year around and this would keep the user safe always and in this way we prevent those unnecessary death that happen everyday

We use plant based chemical free manufacturing technology to make our products. the mosquito repellant plants are processed into mosquito repellant oils that we use to manufacture our soap, vaseline and lotion
